"6InchHeelsForever" - NEW Website Design..(At Last...!!!)

At long last - '6InchHeelsForever' have completely re-designed their website from top to bottom - and it is wonderful.

It now makes complete sense - is clear, concise and totally 'user-friendly' - here:

http://www.orientvisual.com/6inchforever/index.php?querytype=home

They have a neat navigation menu, all their styles in Sections - with neat, thumbnail photographs to click on for larger images - and links to other sections. They are laid out in clear pages and the whole thing overall is a delight to visit.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - they have made their Sizing SOOO much clearer........using a Universal International Shoe Size chart!!!

Bravo!!

Their site is certainely better but I wouldn't say wonderful nor user-friendly...

And over all, the larger images won't display on Firefox 3.5.8 (running on kubuntu 9.10 64bits).

W3C validation is not good either

So still no "bravo" from me

Ditto about the larger images not appearing within Firefox. The site seems to be easy to navigate, however. Not having bought their shoes previously; how is the quality and the fit? They certainly have some attractive styles in which I would be interested. Thanks!

Well - I go there to look at, choose and buy shoes. Not play with computer gizmos. It does the job WAAY better than the previous design. So for me as a customer - it's wonderful.

(BTW. I have 4 browsers on my laptop - precisely for situations like this. You seem to be 'into' gadgets - so why don't you just install another one that works? You can get the 5 main ones for free - here: http://www.browserchoice.eu/BrowserChoice/browserchoice_en.htm).

The larger images work fine on Firefox 3.6. I absolutely love the back-zipped knee-length boots, but having read of some peoples' experience with ordering from 6IHF I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I'll join the nay-sayers, it's got a ways to go. Looking at the in-stock styles, if you like something, there's no way to order it other than remembering the style number then hunting it up in the listings. The pictures don't work on FireFox 3.0.17 (Ubuntu) either, but do work OK on Google Chrome 4.0 (Ubuntu). They might consider a better way to handle currency conversion, linking to an exchange rate chart doesn't exactly make it easy.

Well I really don't know what you lot are doing - but I had NO problems at all with anything. I'm using Internet Explorer 8.

I got ALL the images - everywhere. I got the slideshows and the enlarged images on the 'box icons'. I ordered my shoes with no problems using the 'drop-down' menu and went straight to Checkout.

There - I got a 'pop-up' window that said 'Checking for Browser Compatibilty' - and it was fine. It states very clearly that 'cookies' must be enabled to use the Shopping Cart facility.

I got the Exchange rates using the direct link to 'XE.com' - which is NOT a chart, it is a website - and the best Currency Exchange calculator on the 'Net. I always use it.

I then got my Shipping costs calculated again using the drop-down menu and finished my order with no hassles at all.

It ALL works perfectly well.

So what's the problem with your Browsers?

THeir shoes looked beautiful and well made. I ordered a pair a few days ago and they immediately replied to my question about the color I wanted. I'll let everyone know how long it took and the details when I get them. I got a pair of Nude Patent 14cm classic point pumps.

Please do keep us updated as to how your orders turn out, I know a few people on here who have had trouble with them but I could be tempted to order if they've sorted themselves out. PiB: Anyone running an OS other than Windows won't have the option of using IE8*, and the site designers really ought to take into consideration that not everyone will be. That said, it works fine for me in FF 3.6 which is also available for Linux. *I know about WINE.

The new website is horrible. 1. It doesn't work properly in major browsers. 2. There is a mess of confusing text colours. 3. There's no continuity with photographic style. 4. They don't have a logo or brand identity. 5. I can appreciated some of the designs but they are doing nothing original and their shoes look really cheap with heels ready to snap. They are also over priced. You can get quality handmade in Europe 'specialist shoes' cheaper than their tatty offerings. As I have said before 'good design costs relatively nothing'. Why not do it properly?

PIB - I have hesitated to order a pair from this company for the past couple of years because of the negative reports some members have posted and the difficulty they've had with sizing, quality and service. But, if this company has managed to sort out all of their manufacturing and business shortcomings, I am up for ordering a pair. I would imagine that I am not the only member that is waiting for some positive information on these shoes. So, I also would appreciate any feedback you provide.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Well - this is the very first pair I have ordered - after MANY exchanges of EMails with them - for precisely the reasons posted on here over time - to ensure that I WILL get good service and decent shoes that fit.

People like 'Lady Barbara' at Legsworld, 'Kodo Heels' and 'Gina Queen-of-Heels' don't seem to have any problems with them. But then - look at all the free publicity they get out of those ladies wearing their shoes!

I'll keep you guys posted for sure.....

A couple of years ago, I ordered a pair of C-14s from them. The sizing fit fairly well, but I had to go through a lot of calculations and measurements, while emailing them and using their conversion tables and my foot length, width, and circumference around the toe joint area. The thing that bothers me the most is the way they made the stiletto heel work. It seems the heel was suppose to be for a 16.3cm high heel and they cut off the tip to make it adapt to the 14cm height. Now the heel has an almost 95 to a 100 degree slant that makes it look like it will slide under the toebox if I was to wear them on a slippery surface. I've thought of taking them to a repair shop to lengthen the tips about 1.25cm, which would correct the positioning of the heel. It would make the slope of my foot more vertical, but that is better than worrying that the heel will break off as it slides under my foot one day while I'm walking and causes me to have a spasticated embarrassment or worse become injured. I hope they have since made the proper adjustments to correct these type of errors in the manufacturing process. I would be interested in knowing the outcome of your order(s).
