  1. Sorry so long with the photos. Also showing the Vibram soles. If you missed the first post they're from Miguel Jones custom-boots.net, with 5 inch heels, well made, and very comfortable, $225 + shipping. It took about 8 weeks from order to arrival.

  3. Miguel Jones quality has improved quite a bit since he first appeared online. I have 4 pairs. The ones in the photo are my newest and they're extremely comfortable in spite of the 5 inch heels.
  4. I was browsing the aisles of my local odd lots store when I heard a pair of heels quickly tapping by. I looked up and saw a nicely dressed woman in her twenties wearing a short skirt, stockings, and a pair of beige patent-leather pointed-toe pumps with 4-5 inch stiletto heels. Before I had a chance to move in her direction, I heard another shopper speak to her. Shopper: Those are beautiful shoes, but I’d fall flat on my face if I tried to wear them. Heels: Thank you! It just takes practice. Shopper: I don’t think I could walk in those if I practiced 10 years, don’t they hurt? Heels: No they’re Italian made of real leather. It makes a huge difference. I learned how to wear them at modelling school when I lived in Philadelphia. The teacher there wore heels higher than these like they were bedroom slippers. Shopper: [indistinct] Heels: I need to get back to work. [laughs] It does take me longer to walk places. At that moment my girlfriend walked up and told me she was done and ready to go. I couldn’t think of a way to find Ms. Heels and snap a picture, but thought I'd post the conversation here anyways.
  5. Isn't there an ugly shoes topic somewhere on this board. I wanted to add a find. The attached press nearly all my ugly buttons; plastic looking, bad color, low back trying to be a clog, looks like snaps on the side for a strap of some sort, elastic gores, and a center seam. Oh, and they're men's worn with shorts.
  6. I guess this one never caught on. From Science & Invention Magazine, January, 1922.
  7. We're about a week after the shipping date and it seems strange to me that there are no new reviews on any of the shoes, yet. Just one from a month ago saying 'I've got to have these.'
  8. First time I ever saw heels as a plot point in a TV western. Not very high, mainly visible at 3:15 and 4:00. https://archive.org/details/HighHeels_201404

  10. Clogs are usually considered a casual style so socks are definitely OK. What type of clogs?
  11. My one purchase from Milanoo had no problems.
  12. Looks like eBay didn't think much of calling them Timberland, either. The listing is gone.

Do you mean the flat cloth ones? I've got a couple pairs and wore them most of the summer. It never really occurred to me that they would be considered feminine or otherwise odd, and I never saw anybody staring at them. I also have a pair of the wedge desert boots -- I never had a problem with them, and I always wear them with the heels showing.
  14. I have 2 pairs of his stock styles, though neither was in stock when I ordered. Each time it took about 3 weeks for them to arrive (US address). I wear US men's 10D, so having read lots of sizing complaints, I ordered size 9 in the camel suede stock boots with 20 inch tops and 3 inch extreme undershot heels. They're still a bit big but quite wearable with a pair of foam insoles added. The second pair is the stock 20 inch square toe boots with 4 inch heels. These I ordered in size 8 1/2. Unfortunately they're quite narrow, so I might be happier with size 9 in these (but the length is right). Comparing the two pairs, the shafts on the camel suede boots are a bit wide for me, and curiously the heels are exactly the same height -- 4 inches at the back.
