euchrid Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Alexander McQueen must need his head examined---- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1218802/Alexander-McQueens-tall-order-Towering-12-inch-boots-Paris-catwalk-walking-.html Always High-Heel Responsibly
onyourtoes Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Well, I guess it was bound to happen. Since apparently so few people had seen ballet heels before the past year or so when Beyonce et al showed up wearing them publicly, someone was bound to come up with a copy for the runways. In order to keep any sense of resemblance to real ballet heels using platforms like that, they had to go way up on the heels. Of course the shoe is (barely) in proportion to itself, but compared to the wearer is more like bride of Frankenstein goes fetish shoe. I'm sure those are comfortable enough, but they seem a heck of a lot more dangerous than the real thing.
M-a Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 What can I say... I think they look like a vase rather than a shoe. I usually like McQueens shoes but not this time. “Sometimes you have to sacrifice your performance for high heels” www.heelsoholic.com
mtnsofheels Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Must say though, I think the whole outfit looks pretty cool, otherworldly, animalistic in some cases but the shoes.......hmmm.......maybe doorstop vases. I agree with M-a, I usually like his stuff but not the shoes - this time. Mtnsofheels

Those aren't ballet boots. Those are "just" huge platforms, with the top part of the bootie "blown up" with some decoration. Look how the models walk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-bHdKABy-4 Ballet boot walking looks differently.
Guest Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Art for the catwalk - 5 gold stars Street wear - not a chance, they would be too heavy for the likes of Vicky Beckham. Al

balletboot2000 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 I'd quite happily have a pair, the scary thought being what they'd try and charge you for them I love the feel of that ultimate lift!
Jarl Ayari Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Looks like your walking in water filled balloons, not nice... Smile and the whole world smiles with you, Fart and your on your own!!!
tightsnheels Posted November 5, 2009 Posted November 5, 2009 My thoughts on the shoes: Um...yeah:spin2: On some of the outfits: "Look for the woman in the dress, if there is no dress there is no woman."-Coco Channel
Amanda Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Gosh...........I must remember to look out for some wedges in the same style!
r1g0r Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 bone ugly. like 10 miles of bad texas backroads. the north end of a south-bound mule. the puckered part of a dog. (insert non-available "puking smiley" here) society has decided that men will be confined to certain items of clothing, and certain modes of presentation. until we rebel PERSONALLY against this, we are diminished!
ChipsHH Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Reminds you of crab pincers, doesn't it? That's what I automatically assumed xP Formally "HHDude"
barney15c Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Lady Gaga is wearing a pair in her latest video (Bad romance). In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!!!
ChipsHH Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 From the video, it looks like she sports a few of the styles of the Spring 2010 Fashion Show (I forget the designer's name). Formally "HHDude"
Dawn HH Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Those shoes might be all right for the runway, but I don't think that they will ever show up in the high street stores. Yippee!!!. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
