  1. Genuine complaints in England My bush is really overgrown round the front and my back passage has fungus growing in it. ... and he's got this huge tool that vibrates the whole house and I just can't take it anymore. ... it's the dogs mess that I find hard to swallow. I want some repairs done to my cooker as it has backfired and burnt my knob off. I wish to complain that my father hurt his ankle very badly when he put his foot in the hole in his back passage. ... and their 18 year old son is continually banging his balls against my fence I wish to report that tiles are missing from the outside toilet roof. I think it was bad wind the other night that blew them off. My lavatory seat is cracked, where do I stand? I am writing on behalf of my sink, which is coming away from the wall. Will you please send someone to mend the garden path. My wife tripped and fell on it yesterday and now she is pregnant. We are getting married in September nd we would like it in the garden before we move into the house. I request permission to remove my drawers in the kitchen ... 50% of the walls are damp, 50% have crumbling plaster and the rest are plain filthy. I am still having problems with smoke in my new drawers. The toilet is blocked and we cannot bath the children until it is cleared. Will you please send a man to look at my water; it is a funny colour and not fit to drink. Our lavatory seat is broken in half and is now in three pieces. Would you please send a man to repair my spout. I am an old age pensioner and need it badly. I want to complain about the farmer across the road; every morning at 6am his cock wakes me up and its now getting too much for me. The man next door has a large erection in the back garden, which is unsightly and dangerous. Our kitchen floor is damp. We have two children and would like a third so please send someone round to do something about it. I am a single woman living in a downstairs flat and would you please do something about the noise made by the man I have on top of me every night. Please send a man with the right tool to finish the job and satisfy my wife. I have had the clerk of the works down on the floor six times but I still have no satisfaction. This is to let you know that our lavatory seat is broke and we can't get BBC2.

  2. Those fires will be much more difficult to put out as well because the pressure of the wells is much higher as in Kuwait and they are spread all over the country on different kind of terrain and getting the equipment there will be much more difficult. In Kuwait some teams were able to blow out 4 fires per day, in Iraq it might take them 4 days per well. Let's forget about the economic and selfish implications and think about the ecological disaster this might cause. Let's keep our fingers crossed everybody thinks about the grave implications of some overzealuous acts.

  3. Hi Julietta, I never mind some good pictures of nice shoes but am certainly interested in a sideshot of the feet resting naturally on the lower shoe arch curve, although your feet are certainly different as mine it might give me an idea of close the curves are to my desires and anatomy. I'm not in a hurry yet, spring and summer is still some time away and it will take some time to get them anyway with the non export sales of Argos. Thanks for helping out anyway, Bye, Luc

  4. Wow Julietta, quite an interesting experiment and glad you want to share the progresses as they happen with us. Hopefully it will encourage some more reserved readers to take the big step as well. I wish I had a (girl)friend like you a few decades ago (or even now as well). Keep up the good charity work, bye, Luc

  5. Rightly or wrongly, the bombing of civilian populations, from London to Cologne, Dresden, Munich, Tokyo and lastly Hiroshima and Nagasaki, was a central part of WWII. I disagree with those who focus on the U.S. a-bombing as something that was fundamentally different than all of the other bombings of cities during that war.

You are right, during the second world war every country at war adopted the horrible "counter city" doctrine that caused millions of civilian casualities. The fact this doctrine was felt acceptable (by the ones safely in their protected bunkers) still does not justify jubilating because the A bomb made less casualities as the fire bombs to get the ennemy on his knees. In that respect the modern wars with their surgical precision strikes on carefully selected targets with well defined rules of engagement is a "great progress". This was possible in the last Gulf War because the scope was limited and the weather suitable for guidance of these air delivered smart bombs. Now instead of driving an invading enemy back home the target is to get Saddam out of his fortified middle of the town locations which will be a completely different ballgame, especially if the Iraqis set their oil wells on fire obscuring most targets for effective air attacks. In that case pursuing the (difficult) objective will either cost lots of friendly casualities in street fights against a whole anti american population, or cause the US to slowly abandon the objective of killing or removing Saddam from his presidency, replace his forces by European "peace keepers" and seek an easier country and leader to get results worth a ticker parade in New York. Some forget this is exactly what happened in Former Yougoslavia and the unsuccessfull hunt after Bin Laden which had been Bushes priority one goal untill he found out he couldn't get him. Good luck on this one, but hopefully not involving me.
  6. Hi Julietta, thanks for this detailed initial report already. It confirms already some suspicions I had about the thin front straps. On the other hand 2 hours walking on them the first time is not bad so they could be used for more sedate ice cream parlor visits during summer. The 4-1/2 inch is my favorite elevation since about 2 years so that wouldn't cause any problem. Could you please provide some more info on the lower arch support, for me it is very important the curve sits at the correct place and angle to spread the weight over the whole foot instead as only on the ball. If everything is OK I'm still facing the problem they don't ship outside of the isle. Tallswede, the fruited whiskey is for a sip once in a while, this evening my nightcap is a Glenmorangie Squirel, whiskey and cereals in the morning would do wonders for your confidence in wearing noisy blades to school but might lead to overconfidence in your abilities and some snoring in the classes, plus headache in drumband practice.

  7. After more than 30 years of regular wearing I still am consious about which heels I wear. I still enjoy every step I make on them. I often look at them when sitting down and often try to show them off to other girls or women just to see their reaction and getting them used to see heels on men. I mostly try to wear heels with a good camber on the lower arch and this is not only to have better support but also to enhance the feel on my feet. When wearing some of my higher or more daring heels (or a new pair) the feeling is even greater. I love this so much I hope it will never become senseless to me, the wearing becomes casual, the walk natural, the gait normal, the posture straight, but for me the sensations last forever and I never get tired of looking at the great models adoring my feet. I'm curious to read the reactions of our heel wearing girls regarding this topic. I just can't imagine all those girls only wear heels to seduce men, I suspect a lot of them do it because they like the sensations and looks.

  8. With regard to our use of the A-bomb on Japan, I think you had to be there to understand why

Neither of us was there but I still understand and even approve what happened and how it shortened the war and certainly spared lots of people from even more attrocious death. On the other hand, I still doubt you had to throw a second one at them to reach that objective. I still think it was more of a kind of practical test of the second different type of bomb you designed.
  9. When you first ask someone here about the war in Iraq the first thing that they do is immediately oppose it. Then they start raising all these interesting questions about the situation, which in turn leads to a good very debate about the facts. By the time they are finished everyone largely supports the war

That shows exactly how people without solid background can easily be manipulated by propaganda. Having all your television stations in hands of the industry (If my memory is good I thought NBC is owned by General Electric, the big defence supplier of missiles and components), and the industry needs turnover and oil, you can imagine how "neutral" the jounalists, on which the general public build their opinions from, are. All this diverts the attention pretty well from the increadible budget deficit (even without the war) the Usa is facing. This for the USA patriotic war will serve George into polishing his image for the next elections, because he didn't do well at all for the economy, education or welfare. Without 9-11 he would have lost all popularity, he tried to get some by going after Osama Bin Laden but when that failed he needed something else. Korea being too dangerous Irak was HIS perfect solution. I can support that, as long as he doesn't drag the rest of the world into a War nobody els REALLY wants.
  10. Hi Julietta, I'm also interested in a pair of the black strappy ones. After having worn them, could you please tell me if the thin straps over the instep cause pain, are sufficiently soft or stretchy? How is the lateral stabiliry of the sandal considering the thin vertical strap on the heel, doesn't it tend to go one side or the other? Is the sizing correct? Do you think they are sufficiently comfortable for a walk or strictly reserved to more sedate ballroom and restaurant use? How is their quality and comfort regarding the lower arch support? How noisy are the heels? Sorry for all the questions, but I like my shoes to be usefull and without possibility of trying you are my only source of information. Thanks, Highluc
