  1. Right you are, no reason to complain anymore. I also have some long coats and recently purchased a black leather model that reaches my ankles and is very form fitting. I had some additional buttons installed further down and now I use that coat over my skirts and boots in public. I also use that coat if I wear my boots over leggings or narrow trousers. Fabulous, comfortable and acceptable to all. Try it, you'll like it.

  2. Thanks Thighhigh, it's working now and I had a look at your collection. You have a lot of platform sneakers but your taste in boots is fantastic. I like your 4 inchers as well because of the classic shape of the heel and nose. The picture 110 shows them sticking out under pants and they look great that way. I often wear my boots in public under slightly longer pants and I think my thigh highs from Silhouette look very similar to yours regarding the overall shape. The step from your 3 inchers to your 4 inchers is not that great, both look very similar and if you are confident in the one, you should be going for the other as well. Keep us informed, Highluc

  3. That's a real nice boot and to me they look totally acceptable and timeless. I don't know how you got them on in that bus if they are over the knees, that's not easy when wearing pants. I usually first put on the boots and afterwards pull my pants up but that's not an option on a bus. Congratulations on your first trip and may there be many more to come.

  4. Just stop acting paranoid, don't raise suspicion by taking shoes around through the store. Just get in, browse the racks and try on the spot, act as you would do when buying men's shoes. If a lady wants to help, allow her to help or just tell her you're browsing. I know lots of guy's from different countries doing it that way and Brantano is one of the most friendly places around to try on feminine footwear. Be a man, show some courage, your money is as good as any other's customer. Greetings from Highluc to all the guys with guts.

  5. Hi Jeff, nice to see you want to keep in touch. For the other guys (and girls) who still are a bit reluctant, please note that restaurant is an old farm located outside the buildup area and thus isolated from civilisation with ample parking space around, thus making it no problem for the less bold of us to attend. You can read more about the attitiude of the owners and waiters versus heeled guys on my webpage in the "about me pages of november and december 2002". If you are interested in joining, please e-mail me through redcap@hotmail.com for further details and the directions to get there. It is important for me to prearrange some numbers for the reception area and food tables in advance. Please don't turn up unexpected or leave me to pay for people that let me down after they made promisses.

  6. Hi Micha, being born in 1951 I definitely remember those 70's and very much participated in it. I also remember the Abba times and although I bought a few platforms designed for men I didn't like them because they mostly were too bulky and heavy. I only wore them to school or when out with my parents to family meetings or formal type of gatherings. Like many boys my age who were blessed with small feet I opted for the models available in the girls' racks. These styles were similar but much more elegant and less clumpsy to wear. People didn't see the difference because we all wore those elephant piped very long pants (now called flared jeans or bootcuts). In those times boys and girls often got similar colorful clothing from the same unisex racks and the same ideology was pretty much accepted for shoes. In summer a lot of guys wore those wooden high heeled clogs, fully exposed under their shorts. When the platform fashion for guys diminished, it was still going on for the girls and the smaller guys just turned to the girls racks in order not to be dwarfed by their partners. The rock stars set the example annyway. While the long wide pants covered most of the shoes it didn't matter and when the platform became a fashion no go for the guys, we lowered the platform height but kept the blocky heel in order to maintain our height versus the girls who were still in platforms In the south of france where the guys were muich smaller and more skinny, most guys wore the popular black or brown loafers with a 4 inch block heel on a 1 inch platform to school. Boys and girls wore the same loafers and clogs, bought straight from the girl racks, to school and in the streets and everybody found this completely normal. While most of the guys slowly got back down to flats, some short guys like me continued wearing them for almost a decade. It all vanished when fashion for men dictated pants with a very narrow bottom. I was thinking it all would come back when about a decade ago platforms came back into fashion, and the lately bootcut pants becoming popular again but this time only the girls followed while the guys "preferred" to remain in their boring standard pants and flat shoes. I never quit wearing my heels and still have some of those 70's models in my collection. The boots, cork sandals and wedges are back into fashion now but the loafers look dated. Hang on to it, it's your choice to decide what to wear each day.

  7. In response to the proposal of GJ on th Lakeside thread I checked with the owners of my favorite restaurant and they welcome the idea. They have seen it all (with up to 9 guys in heels together last year), and have now an ideal separated meeting place (refurnished top floor in Bali style) for some relaxed drinking and talking. Either we do only the drink and maybe some good food on the first weekend of January, or we combine it with a shoe shopping trip to Hasselt the second weekend when the sales have started. I know there are at least 10 people on this board that live within 100 km of Leopoldsburg so this should be possible and be an ideal way of meeting each other (again) and wear our heels in public. Please reply if interested with a proposal on date and time (friday evening or saturday noon because sunday is too busy and the stores are closed), and I'll try to coordinate and organize. Happy heeling from Highluc. PS: partners are welcome.

  8. Hi Julietta, I'm only into shoes but I admire the efforts you make and the final result on coordinating your toes with the shoes you wear. You have excellent ideas and coordination skills. I understand in this case the combination of feet and heels cannot be separated and just compliments each other. Thanks for the nice illustrations and keep up the good work. Greetings from highluc who is jealous of your nice feet and toe nails.

  9. I am facing the same dilema concerning my free style clothing. Although my 23 year old daughter has no problem with it, she asked me for the sake of her children (3 weeks and age2), not to run around in a skirt in our town because of fear of later treatement by other school kids. I respect that and will abide from wearing unbifurcated wear in our town. Heels under bootleg pants are no problem and leaving in a skirt in my car for another town is also ok, even for the neighbors. I will evaluate this setup in a few months and if this is too restrictive I will not hesitate to sell my house and move somewhere in an appartment in the middle of another town, maybe even in a foreign country. I realize both my own desires and the hard conformist outside world are clashing but I always swore to do no harm to anybody, and this is especially valid for my grandchildren.
