From Xaphod on Luc's computer .... I bought a pair of FUss shoes a couple of weeks ago' sending registered cash. The shoes arrived in 6 days and the quality is very good. I'm very happy with my purchase. Have a look on the old board for my entry there.

After just a few posts about pictures of tube boots in october 2002 on the men's section some guys picked up the idea of joining and before we know and without planning we had a very short notice Euro meet. I'll let the participants tell you about their first day. Hi, Guys, Just to say this is Xaphod at Highlucs trying to work a Flemish keyboqrd. ... see whqt I mean the q is where you would find an a qrrrgh! Calv drove down to my place at a very silly hour and we both left the UK at not quite such a silly hour. After an inspection of some of the beer shops in Calais we journeyed to Luc's to arrive after lunch. We have had a look round the shoe shops in Eindhoven and are coming to the conclusion that the styles this year are quite boring compared with what has gone before. Morella and Lion are expected to join us tomorrow. Stay tuned for more reports. Xaphod. Cqlv Hiluc

Just came back from a trip to Eindhoven Holland and I was surprized the number of boots with zipper in the back for sale.

Hi GJ, I volunteer but as you know I live in Belgium. I wouldn't mind combining this with a shoe shopping trip in Holland of course.
-
Hi GJ, I once bought boots from the us, credit card was debited with the correct amount of 95$ shipping included, I was very surprised when the postman charged me an additional 75 euro. He told me this was for customs and import duties. You shouldn't pay any customs or import between Germany and Holland because both are within the EU. The German banking system is slow and not very flexible but in the end correct. Very few stores accept credit cards and the ones that do only take the ones from German banks. They still have to learn a lot concerning international trading. COD may be a problem if the postal system from one country does not have an agreement with the one from the other concerning insurance and money transfer.

Sounds good to me but I never got any replies from our uk guys, even not on personal e-mails so I still don't know about any rendez-vous proposition. I cannot imagine you guys still will be able to find your way to my home. CU soon, Highluc

A good thing mine never asked, stilettos could have started quite a waterfall from our water bed.

OK guys, glad you can make it. Apparently you are going to be in Belgium friday around noon. What are your desires for friday? If you want to go shopping we'll have to go somewhere else because November 1 is a holiday in Belgium and all the shops are closed. Can anyone of our Dutch friends tell me if the stores are open in Holland friday? According to the latest weather forecast you will come together or just in front of a large rain zone. winds will be from the sothwest and calm on friday but higher the rest of the weekend, where a multitude of frontal systems will be sweeping one after the other over the low countries, with their associated rain showers. Boots and and umbrella will therefore be very usefull. Cu, Luc

So latest situation is only Lion confirmed from sat am to sun am. Sorry to hear GJ and Jeff cannot join. Rob cannot join either because of a funeral. Glad to hear Jeff is in love (seems being a moderator on this board helps finding a partner, after Laurie and Jeff, Firefox next?). I would like to have some confirmation about the UK visitors, number, estimate time of arrival, departure etc. Sleeping possibilities are the same as last year. Bye, Luc

I certainly agree and feel myself in this difficult middle zone without wanting or needing to make a definite choice. I am who I am and can live with that, most other people don't find it easy because they always think there are only two choices, male or female and can't handle so are afraid or disapprove the millions of in betweens.I think we're all a mix, with some people being nearer the male or female 'extreme', and some people slightly nearer the middle, with a mix of characteristics. Do people agree?

Ok Lion, good copy. GJ please pass estimate times. Jeff, aren't you interested, we havn't seen or heard you in ages. I still live at the same place and have the same phone numbers. If you need those repeated please contact me by personal e-mail. CU soon, Luc

You can already come in the morning because we'll need the time to make the pictures of your collection and if you want to have the afternoon free for Hasselt shopping we'll need all the time we have (artificial light pictures don't turn out so well). I'll also need to know who is going to come when and untill when for restaurant reservations because during the weekends all are booked rather quickly. CU all soon, Highluc.

It took some time, but I found and published my website through my own domain and a provider that only charges 7,95$/month for 350mb and 5gig bandwith. You can still access through the old rerouter http://walk.to/highluc or if you want it completely spam free you can go directly to www.highluc.net
As from now I will use the about me pages as a real diary and post new facts as they occur, not waiting till the end of the month to post a whole monthly chapter anymore.
I hope you will all like it and I hope to be able to pay the provider with the money of the shoes sold through my for sale pages.

Ok guys, no problem for me. You know I have sufficient space to put people asleep and Lion, if your wife wants to join I don't mind. My wife stays in Germany that weekend but I'm sure we can keep yours busy with all our shopping etc. Keep me informed, cu soon, Luc

Hi Lion, weekend of 2 november is ideal for me.
-
Hoi Lion, I have a digital camera now, we could get together sometime because I feel we have some catching up to do talking anyway.

I wouldn't like to be in Chris's shoes (pun intented). But for me, I am selfish, and they are for me and me alone. His reward is being able to watch me try them on.
-
Hi Laurie (and Chris), nice to see everything is working fine for both of you. I like the combination of the car and the outfit, looks like you still have good weather there. One thing that puzzles me in the report is when you say you find it a relief to walk barefooted after 13 hours on 5 inch heels. I do not know quickly you come down but after a full day on heels I find it very painful walking barefooted. I need some lower heeled slippers for a while before I can walk barefooted without calves and tendons aching. Are you able to transit from 5 inches to barefooted on the spot? Thanks for the nice pictures and keep up the good reports.

I remember about a year ago during the first Euro heel meet walking back to our cars at a good pace due to rain in Rotterdam (after a full day walking around in heels), Firefox dropped back from our group (of 9 guys) to check how we all walked on heels (most wore at least 3-inch heels). I also dropped back and saw at least half of us walking very naturally (incidently the guys with the highest heels), while the rest didn't do that bad but still missed some flowing moves in their walk. It would be interesting to see how those latter guys evolved after a year of practice.

I just saw I lost my elegant summer slingbacks after reaching the 500 post mark. The spiky ankle boots should fit me fine and looks classy and challenging with a respectable heel heigth. Looks like a suitable boot for surviving a chilly fall 2002 season.
-
Hi Lion, welcome back. Rob and I often talked about you and we thought you had abandonned the heel world maybe under some pressure. I'm glad to hear all is well with your family and that your wife still supports you. The whole year in nothing less as 4-inches? Does that mean full time at work also? I remember one of your earlier posts informing us of some bad comments from coworkers. I am also looking forward to a new Euro heel meet so (this makes 3 of us already. Lets keep in touch and see you soon. Bye and congratulations on the new pregnancy from Highluc

Hell no PJ, conquering obstacles is a very rewarding activity for any human so practice, practice and practice even more till it becomes natural.Maybe I should avoid steps and use elevators.
Show courage and perseverence and enjoy the pleasure of your newly acquired skills. Good luck, Highluc.

Sorry PJ, but your expanations about the 9 inch steps with 2 inch platforms and 5 inch lift for 7 inch clearance confused me even more. Can you tell me how much experience you have on platforms in the real world (means normal walking outside on different pavements in various weather conditions and a bit of driving around or boarding busses or trains?). I'm not bad in math but I'm even better on platforms and take it from me, a 50 year old man who still wears platforms of all heigths since 1971, going up stairs is the same, platforms or not. When I climb stairs, I look in front of me, not at my feet, and the steps are the same heigth whatever you wear on your feet. Platforms and heels are best worn with sublime feelings and ballance, I don't care if people make video studies of gait etc or try to explain it with mathematics, as long as they don't start try convincing unexperienced people walking on anything but flats is difficult, dangerous or unhealthy.

Belgians drinking Laphroaig (how do you pronounce that at 2 in the morning or any other time of the year) whiskey, graciously offered by visiting UK heel wearers during a Euro heel meet.
