  1. Oh I intend on sticking to a 'male look' as much as I can.

I used this picture from our galleries in another post as an example of where I'm thinking we can head toward and still keep it as such.

    www.hhplace.org/album.php?albumid=217&pictureid=2817

The mini skirt comment was of course a joke as I wouldn't venture out like that unless it was something like a charity event, Halloween, or a rocky horror show - - especially around these parts.

  2. Interesting - - I think I would have left the straps on though. For me, 7" or 8" heel with the existing platform would be a bit more suitable, but it's definitely interesting. OK - - not at the price mentioned though.

  3. Never really gave this much thought until recently. One of my girls wanted a pedi before Prom, but she had to go to her grandma's to have one since there are no salon's in the local area that do them. We had an Asian nail place in a shopping mall nearby, but they went out of business this last summer, so she will be going back to grandma's since they still have salon's that do this. As for me - - Oh hell no. A Pedi would be nice, but a Mani is strictly out of the question. I carry a pointy pocket knife so I can clean the grease and grime out from under my fingernails, and we use WD-40 as hand cleaner before we hit the LAVA/Borax hand cleaners. Still can't get all the grease from the cracks in the calluses. Funny - - - A couple years ago, I was doing the Grim Reaper for a Halloween costume. Wife didn't have black fingernail polish, so I did three coatings of Sharpie permanant marker. Lasted about two days. Nothing permanant about it.

  4. After reading this whole series of posts, I'm somewhat shocked in that a 2" western style heel would garner strange looks, or concerns - - and here is why. Since I was a little kid, I've been wearing western style boots. usually with a riding heel. but early on, it was usually a block heels. I've been wearing 1-3/4" to 3" underslung heeled boots for the last 20 plus years. If it's not these, then it's hiking boots or a work style boot. I don't do Nike's, Reebok's, and never anything like a loafer or florshiem(Yuck) Up until 3 years ago, I always wore a western heeled boot. I never thought of them as high heels - - -They are just boots. Within the last three years, it's steel toe at work, and western boots only on occasion. I go camping, trail hiking, canoeing, everything including mowing the lawn in 'cowboy boots' - that's what they were made for. I might not wear a 3" heel walking around the Smoky Mountains, but a 2" is normal for me. Work - Black jeans and boots, dinner out was Levi 505's and boots. I worked in a major faucet manufacturer engineering department in long sleeve dress shirt and ties with black jeans and boots. That's what I showed up at the interview wearing, and that's what I was going to wear at work. It's not an issue for me, it's what I wear. If they didn't like it, too bad, but nobody ever told me I couldn't wear boots (and I would have ignored them anyways). It's what I do. Lately, my problem is that all the western wear / tack shops have gone out of business around me. Nobody carries boots unless it's a big chunky 3 pound behemoth heel barn boot that looks like it's supposed to be worn in a barn. There are just ugly. When I do see western boots, they all are sized too big. I wear an 8D mens boot. Usually they start at a size 10. I've ordered a pair recently, but it took them 3 months to ship, and I haven't been too impressed with them. Only a 1-3/4 tapered heel. At least now I know since I've been around this forum for a while that there are still makers of 'real boots' out there, so I may order some new ones soon, and hope they fit. Last week. I finally decided I had to retire my last pair of Justins and Dingo's. They were re-soled at least 3 times, and countless heel replacements. Just isn't anything left to stitch too anymore. One of the pairs was the ones I got married in (Yes I wore boots) Had a nice fire going in the fire ring out back, so there they were went. Now that I think about it, I have a very old, but in virtually new condition pair of Justin boots in a mens size 7-1/2D Pointed toe with a straight snip. Used for square dancing a few times by my Grandfather. Probably bought somewhere between Nebraska and Colorado. Probably a good 40 t0 50 years old. If someone is interested, I'll get them back from the last remaining tack shop (specializing in English riding) and offer them up here.

  5. I hope that this is the correct place to post this.

I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosporous new year.:)

Hope that somebody will ge a pair of HHS in their stocking:wavey:

Only if I buy them myself, and then it's stockings in the HHS's

Actually I did, but I'm not too happy with my internet order (as usual)

Bought a pair of thigh high suede boots, and they just don't want to stay up correctly, but I'll post for solutions after christmas. I'm gonna try a couple options out first.

    Meanwhile - - Merry Christmas

  6. Okay guys, not only was this thread started in the 'for the girls section' all of you joined in after.

Guys, stay out of the 'for the Girls section, and to JoshDilley (if you bother to read anything at all), read the forum rules and stick to them, you have not been here long yet and this is the second thing I have had to correct for you. one more and it will be a ban for a month.

    thanks, read the rules.

Oops - - Missed that all right
  7. I actually wouldnt be wearing them, they are to feminine for my taste, but my GF does. I think they look great with jeans, but a friend told me I was a dork. Just wanted someone elses opinion, thank you very much!

Is your friend from the same region you are, Sounds like something a dude from down that way would say.
  8. Whoa - - talk about fuzzy. Only problem I could see having would be keeping my cat away from my feet. I can imagine the cat now - - - "Ohhhhh - something fuzzy and moving accross the floor!!" Enjoy - and Merry Christmas

  9. Beaztheelz.

I have many pictures/photos of myself in high heels and skirts, etc. I have said in the past " I am computer stupid " I have no idea of how to do such postings. Notice, NO Avatar. Where is Steve63130 when you need him?

I wish I had some of the pictures they took of me at the NBC4 Studio Toy Drive.

    Alas, A thought.

I will go over there next week to see if I can obtain some of those Photos.

    Mike.

I don't see any of them on their web site.
  10. It seems like Morpho, hark, and Heelster have put a lot of thought into this idea but I would suggest an even more direct approach. ---- HappyinHeels

I was thinking recently about some of the ideas that have been bounced around since I came to this forum, and even put together a concept / idea post regarding some of what you mentioned.

Been looking through our gallery section, and one of the postings that just strikes me as a perfect example of what can be accomplished in a simple yet classic way - - - http://www.hhplace.org/album.php?albumid=217&pictureid=2817

Well coordinated and - - - Just looks right!!

  11. I received these friday Dec 3rd, just before a training class I was to attend Dec. 6-10. Tried them on, they fit with help from Dr. Schols. Went to the class wearing them, no comments, a couple of looks. Total number of people in class was 6.

    I LOVE WEARING HEELS!!!!!

    Take Care

    Thrill

Nice boots (and so is the model --Whew)

    Jeans in or out??

  12. Heelster and happyinheels, you need to search back through Kneehigh's postings and read about how he mixes various items of female clothing with his heels and wears them out and about New York City and other cities around the globe. I'm sure you'll find many useful suggestions for you to evaluate.

Good suggestion. Maybe he will make some suggestions himself
  13. I'm afraid that as soon you combine mini skirts and spider web tights with heels you start to "scream tranny". At least you do for the time being. A better way to make heels acceptable is to combine them with stylish men's clothes... or at least male style clothes.

This is partly why I do the full femme thing.

    That was kinda my point.

As for full tranny - - I highly doubt I could never pull that off.

  14. After reading a lot of the forum comments about how boring mens footwear is, how hard it is to find larger sizes in the ladies department, intimidation regarding trying on shoes etc when it’s obvious you’re a guy in the girls department, and wishing someone would push the envelope so designers would consider the possibilities, It’s time we looked at how we can do this ourselves.

I’ve been looking over our gallery, and there are some really solid ideas that could be promoted, and lots of room to expand on. What I do see as a concern is how far we want to nudge the fashion industry in general. Oh I’d love to be able to show up at a fashion show wearing a Mini skirt, spider web thigh highs and 6” platform stiletto’s along with a pull over polo and a collectors Cleveland Indians baseball cap. I’m sure I could turn some heads, but it wouldn’t turn into a positive fashion statement. I might make the news, but I wouldn’t be in the ‘emerging trend’ section.

This is where I’m thinking we can get the most bang for the buck. We need to start by creating a style book/gallery with a variety of options that show the modern man as being style conscious, but not scream “tranny” or “Fetish” at the same time. A good starting point might be some of the outfits we have actually worn out and about and nobody really noticed. Boot cut jeans and mid calf boots. Skinny jeans and knee boots, Western boots with under slung 3 to 4 inch heels. Casual dress pants with your basic black pumps. Sandals in the summer, Clogs with a heel. There are options we can present and still maintain the appearance of a married man or a younger man out for a casual evening with his girl friend. I’m betting we have a guy who could pull off a sweater dress, skinny jeans and a 9 west bootie and make it look like it was made for a man.

Regardless, we as men who would like to wear heels need to present ourselves in a way that looks and feels good to ourselves and those around us. Maybe have our wives along in the gallery shots showing us in public. Walking through the shopping mall or out in Central Park. Maybe a couple in matching heels and jeans - - you get the idea.

Gentlemen – This isn’t my show, it’s yours. We have all discussed the “what if’s” and “Why not’s” of the fashion industry. We all realize that if we don’t make the suggestions to the designers, we may never get where we believe we can go. We need to create the next emerging fashion trend and do it in a way that has staying power, and not in the humor section of GQ.

How far we can take this all depends on us. Are you willing to walk a runway in Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans and a pair of basic pumps from Baker shoes??

OK guys, it’s all yours to ponder. I’ll stand back and listen for awhile.

  15. Yeah, Heelster, a fresh subject line is a good idea. Judging from the length of Shark's & Morpho's posts, I'm not the only one who's been thinking seriously about how to get the ball rolling. Having a celeb take the first steps would be great, but then the next tier down the "pecking order" to the urban, well-heeled, so-called metrosexual men-about-town will have to pick up on it. That's where the leather hits the road and a "trend" starts. Not just a few of the Hollywood, SanFran, Caan glitteratti, but the next step into that much, much larger group. All that's required beyond that is one shoemaker who'll go out on a limb and make heels for men, not simply larger sized women's shoes. At first they would be relatively expensive; economies of scale and all that, but for $ 100 - $ 200, something reasonably nice could be made and produce some sort of profit for the maker, like the heeled oxford linked by Shark below. A subtle redesign to take some of the "fem" out of heel and toe box shape should do it. There are lots of decent looking men's shoes that only need a 2 1/2 to 3" heel to get where we want to be, at least for a start; a slightly beefed up womens' cowboy boot heel might be a good place to start. If we go all the way up front, we're bound to get tagged as a drag show spin-off. I totally agree with the comment below that an incremental approach is the only way we're gonna' make the sale to the general public, which is what we're really looking for in the long run. Just my opinion.

Let me think on this a bit, and I'll create a post for everybody.
  16. You might be very surprised what you suddenly find starts working again if you remove AVG for MSE. People never realize what "Doesn't work" until its removed, especially when they suddenly see all of their system tray icons re-appearing for the first time in ages too.

Every computer I have removed AVG from, has had its applications spring back to life properly.

That's interesting - - I've never had any tray icons disappear.
