Actually, I have a few, and find them slightly more comfortable than single sole. May seem strange, but I'd rather have at least a small platformis anyone else crazy for plats like me? i absolutely LOVE them. i dont know what it is, but im drawn to them. any one have plats?

Simple, yet elegant. Good selectionI just bought these L' Autre Chose boots for my wife for the upcoming fall. What is your opinion of them? I thought these look like a very classy dress boot to wear with her knee length skirts. She may be able to wear over skinny jeans as long as it doesn't stretch the nappa leather out. What do you think about them?

Welcome - yes, there are some folks from Ohio. Once in awhile, I get into the Columbus area, and yes, I've been known to go shopping in some rather high boots in the Polaris area. Working my way to attempting an outing in pumps soon. Shopping at Polaris would be a good venue to step out in stiletto's.

Not what I would expect from a world renowned design house.Christian Louboutin Fall 2011 Alex lion paw pump
What was he thinking of...yeugh!!!
Not in my 'want list' either.

Skinny jeans would be a good option.

I'll have no problems fitting into low rider skinny jeans, but just north of that - - Yeah - - I gotta gut.

Looks good - Love the sling backs. Simple yet stylish.

Ok - - I was being a bit tame - -You must be referring to exotic dancers. There are many dancers here in the town where I work. The majority of them are dancers from the Bossov ballet company, and I can assure you that that is not the kind of footwear that they wear. That includes the more contemporary dance styles that are taught by other dance schools in this area.
Exotic dancers is correct although I have a couple pairs that would fit that catagory, and by no means am I exotic.

The specialty boutiques are great for shoe shopping if they have the styles your interested in. Been doing this since I started trying and buying. Got to the point where the sales girls are on the lookout for something I might like in my size. You usally end up with Pleaser, Ellie, Hollywood heels and Highest heels. These kinds of shops also tend to cater to the dancers, so sky high platforms are always on the venue. Great shops for patterned thigh highs too. I have never had any issues in these kinds of shops. The sales associates are almost always helpful, and are not on commission so they are not pushy either.

Now that's kinda what I've been looking for!! Would rather not be in suede, but I'll take it as I can find it.Hi There Shoe Lovers,
My one photo can't compete with HighNHeels83 but, given the shoe's versatility and more stealth design, perhaps this will be useful to some. I had seen these and tried these shoes on the other day at Baker's but instead took home the Ruby sandal. This shoe, the "MONA" platform wedge comes in black or blue suede and features a 5.6" wedge heel. As it is closed toe and one solid color it may interest those that have been dying to get out in something. I bought in size 11 and they fit quite nicely. I even walked BEHIND the counter twice and the sales girl certainly liked them. THe vamp is cut a bit lower so don't be alarmed by toe cleavage. That could be easily alleviated by wearing black trouser socks or black knee-high pantyhose or you could just wear them barefoot or with nude color hose. Either way I think you'll adore the shoe's look with your own look.

What a cool way to spend a lunch break! This is why I tell you all that you need to get out there, on whatever extra time you have, and embrace the shopping-in=person experience, there is simply nothing like it!
Now to find a Bakers near by (OK - less than 100 miles away) and see if they have a pair to try on.

The pictures on my SD chip show the heels and all. As I have said befor, I am computer stupid. However, If someone who knows how, could send me step by step instructions on the process, I will post them forthwith. If anyone can do this, please do not leave out any steps. I can screw it up anyway.
Mike
Can you send pic's by email?
If you can do that, I'll get them up on either a posting, or a gallery page.

Would loved to have made it, but regardless of where it was held, wasn't gonna happen. As usual, maybe next time.

Hey - you went right by me - OK figuratively. You probably drove down SR250and SR13 to get to Mansfield. I was at the other end of I71 anyways. To all,
I am in Cleveland now for business and will be in Canton Friday night before the heel meet. I just had a pedicure done on Weds afternoon in Mansfield Ohio. It was great and a very relaxing experience. I will have my peep toe boots on and ready to walk the streets of Canton.
Thanks Steve for the update and hope we have a great turnout.
Walk Tall,
Bernheels
So where in the hec do you get a pedicure in Mansfield.

I'll agree to that.I see nothing different to the dismal range of styles that we already have to suffer in the shops. Most of those are hideous in my opinion.
What possibilities I saw were presented bad anyways.
- - - Oh - - that's right - -I'm not supposed to see the possibilities being a guy and all.

It kinda has been, but then I haven't gone out in anything to obvious either. My pants cover all the boots, and since I have been wearing western underslug/riding heels for so long, I walk pretty normally in a 3" to 4" stacked style heel. When and if - more likely when I step out in a 5" platform stiletto clog or pump, that may change. Still will not do it in my general neighborhood as I know what will happen, and it won't be good. I will have to go for it somewhere else. Recent events in my small town area have convinced me that there are minds so narrow, there is no room for deviation beyond the red neck militant evangelical mindset. Let's just say that smoking dope is somewhat acceptable, or tolerated along with drinking beer, but anyone (male or female ) attempting to push the style envelope might get more than they bargained for.Congrats on you outings, Heelster! You are probably at that point right now where your realizing that wearing heels in public is rather anticlimatic. At least as far as everyones response.

Sunday afternoon, I had to head home, but first I decided I was going back too the DSW. Store was not too busy, so a young lady decided to off assistance in my shoppin. She inquired if I was interested in height (as in compensating for my lack of height) of which I informed her that that was not an issue - I'm not that short. I had already pulled a couple pair of Nine West off the clearance rack, but I was heading for the regular stok too. Decided to check out the G by Guess pumps too. After trying on all the different options, and some other input from the sales associate, I opted for the Guess pumps. She thought they were the best option too. She was rather surprised I could actually walk aroud the store, but she didn't ask too many questions either. Put my boots back on (Now she notices that they are not what she thought they were originally) paid the cashier and went on down the road. As before, I made all the usual stops at gas statione etc, but I didn't notice if anyone else spotted me. What I did notice over the weekend was that one I really started picking out shoe styles, I was kinda in my own world, and didn't bother to notice what other people might be looking at. There were other women in the aisles but I basically ignored them all. All in all, a good but uneventful weekend out of town. Next time I might travel in high heel clogs or pumps - - - - we will see if I'm up to it when the time comes.
-
I did stop at a DSW en route to a Home Depot , and spotted what I was looking for in Guess and Nine West, but I was in no position to try anything on at the time. (I looked like I had just come off a construction site, which I kinda was in all reality.) I will stop back tomorrow and try them on. A little out of my price range, but I expect they will fit better than the pair of pleaser pumps I have at this point. Can't find them on the website, but the Nine West were in the clearance rack, but the Guess were out on the main floor.Congratulations on your outings. As far as footwear, wear what is most comfortable for you, especially in public. If you are thinking of the possibility of stiletto heels, buy an inexpensive pair at, for instance, Payless or even a thrift shop. Wear them around the house with your favorite otfit and see if you might feel comfortable wear them in public.

It;s another weekend out of town, but I didn't ride the motorcycle as it was just too damned rainy to do so. Put on a different pair of black boots and off I went. Did all the usual stuff one would do when they are traveling, Had to stop at Home Depot and Lowes along with a grocery store stop after getting into town. Stopped at the one shoe store I mentioned before and spent some time looking for a rounded or slightly pointed pump in black or dark brown. Nothing to shiny. Would love to find a high dark wedge if possible, I'm open to options, but would like to stay somewhat plain and simple. Something not to obvious with jeans. I haven't been out independently in a stiletto heel, so I'm looking for something I can feel somewhat confident wearing as a guy. If it was a "walk a mile in her shoes" event, I'll wear just about anything high and flashy, but not out too dinner and shopping. When I'm out in boots, the sound is a dead give away and yet I don't believe many notice. I'm sure some have, but either they are discreet about it, or just don't care - - which is a good thing I guess. More to follow as it's only Friday.

I am more than well aware of the causes supported by these events. My humor may be mis-interpreted, but one can have fun while supporting any worthy cause.Walk a mile in her shoes.
Heelster. The walk is being weld at the Tuttle Mall on Columbus west side.
Steve63103. Wetwillie sent the below info. to me (about the walkathon) some months ago. I signed up for the walk a few days later. Have conformation and everything. I will be wearing my own high heels. I also feel that this is not a foreum for humor. This event is held to benefit women in need. Lets hope its a good day for a walk.
Mike
Wetwille - - glad to see you can make it. I'll be way south by then, and will not be able to attend. If it were Sunday, I might have been able too.

sorry did not notice the question first.
no particular brand, it is was we call here *Marlene Hose*- as spikesmike already wrote, kind of 40ties men trousers resp. what Marlene Dietrich wore.
I will have to keep this in mind in the future.
The first pic just looks awesome, and got me thinking as to what I might want to look and match with a nice pair of classic pumps, or even a pair with a slight platform. The look in my opinion could easily be done with a mens look. I honestly can't work a top like yours as the proverbial middle age gut just doesn't allow it, but I will have to remember the trousers. I'm thinking possible a white long sleeve shirt/blouse with a nice looking brown suede vest - - maybe.
Your reply is much appreciated. Wonderful presentation as always.

Oohhhh Myyyy!!! Looks awesome.

Had some time to get out and about over the weekend by myself. Mostly nearby communities, but never-the-less, I could have been spotted by some folks who actually knew me. Mostly small stops at places like Restore, and small shops. Stopped by one boutique that may be ordering in a pair I've been looking at online, but would rather try them on first. Since the kids were gone all weekend, and it was way to hot for me, I threw the wife a curve and decided to do the grilling and such in a pair of high heeled clogs. Since nobody can see the house in the summer, I can wear what I want outside with no problems. Mentioned to the wife that the Walmart Croc knock-offs weren't comfortable, and was gonna wear my heels instead. She still doesn't understand my interest in heels, and since she won't ever wear them again, why should I, but she just kinda ignores me about this while I'm at home. - - Hey - someone has to wear the heels in the house. Might as well be me.
-
Well folks - - Just as I figured. Something else got in the way again this year. Got an announcement for a wedding reception for early afternoon on the 25th, and a graduation party later in the evening. Really can't blow them off, so it looks like I miss it again this year.

If I put one of those on my desk at work, I'm sure no guy in the plant would dare touch it - - - They would be that scared!!!
