What did she have on her feet? Nobody thought it was worth 10 cents to call attention to her footwear.

HighHeelDude -- you may not realize this but Fioni is a Payless brand. Here in the 'states, Payless is everywhere, they have a wide range of sizes, they carry some styles that have a fairly respectable heel, most of the stores are self-serve so they don't bug you as you browse, and they don't cost much. On the down-side I'm not all that impressed with the construction of a lot of their offerings and most of their stuff is plastic (PU or PVC) but especially for a starter-heeler they are worth consideration. No, I have no financial connection with Payless -- other than that of occasional customer.

Except for the buckles, those are pretty androgynous. I'd prefer something with a little more heel but if you like 'em, wear 'em.

Looks natural. How is it holding up?

Shoe-shops use a "shaft stretcher" to stretch the boot shaft -- these devices use a screw and a scissor mechanism to force two metal sides outward against the sides of the boot. You want to be careful with one of these, they can develop a lot of force inside the boot. For instance, wouldn't try it with a side-zip boot because it could easily tear the zipper loose or blow it out (rip the teeth apart). The good thing about these is you can increase the force gradually and leave them in for long periods of time, letting the material stretch at its own rate. They are kind of pricey but you can find them on eBay. Search for "boot shaft stretcher" and you will find them. Here's a picture of one of these dudes:

i really like them. something different!
To each his (or her) own.

i have to differ. i think she is . . .
. . . everybody has one, and yours stinks.
Sounds like somebody's a little bit cranky today???

I think these come from an art student deliberately trying to come up with something different. . .and succeeding in coming up with something weird. Let's hope the concept ends there.

They wouldn't be so bad without the dots and with a little more heel and with a much smaller price tag. Okay, there's nothing there. Most of Louboutin's offerings are so amazing but he really missed with this one.

You don't need too many words with pictures like those! Wow :-)

Some of us are just better off in boots. . .

Shaky camera work but there is some **serious** outward list on that right heel!

Ok. I just wanted more topics to talk about with new members etc, anyway can this thread can be deleted?
SarahLou, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your bringing up this topic of discussion! There is no reason at all to delete this thread. We do want lurkers to register and join the conversation and you are just giving them a little nudge in that direction .
-
When you get to the point where you forget you have them on, when the heels are as natural as bedroom slippers, you have truly become accustomed to them.
-
Sometimes it takes "lurkers" a couple of years to register. I don't have a problem with that, I have a feeling that a lot of them eventually do.
-
Good greif, this thread it over five years old!!
. . .and the situation has not improved one iota.

You like to tweak 'em, don't ya johnnie?

Zappos is generally quite competitive in their pricing. This has got to be the result of some kind of pricing policy on the part of a supplier -- perhaps driven by a tax or tariff.

I agree with the premise of the article, the MJ shoe is a nice style to have and is very versatile.
. . . and it has a simple sweetness about it. I haven't seen a Mary-Jane yet that wasn't cute.

Happy Birthday DawnHH, we're all hoping for the best!

Don't know about that -- 69 isn't exactly a "spring chicken"!
I thought he was dead already.
