Did you wear those out and about? Nice conservative pumps.

I refuse to run pump gas in anything other that my mower. It burns a full tank with each use, so it always has fresh gas in it.
Wow! Is your lawn that big, or does your mower get really poor mileage? I never had to fill my mower more than maybe every third of fourth mowing.

Interesting as I was a a funeral myself this weekend and there was but one pair of heels, and they were a maybe 2 3/4" heel pump. The rest of the women were in flat to maybe 1 1/2" shoes and boots.

Maybe a size 8 1/2 is a good answer?

Hope you will participate. Always glad to have those with a love of heels! Is that Mrs. that you posted in the Gallery with the black pumps?

Welcome!

Had I put one in my previous house, it would have hooked up to the natural gas line. Hence, no worries about gasoline or empty propane tanks.

I think @JackieAL question was more about the acceptability of dangling. Is hanging it low on the toes more provocative than a simple heel pop. I think for many the answer to that question would be yes. But that should not stop you from doing it.

RonC , Have you ever tried a pair of slides ?
Yes, I have. That's how I figured out that I couldn't keep them on my foot.

Sometimes there is but a single piece of leather that extends higher up on the foot, but the principal is the same--there is more upper leather for grippage.
I agree with that. I have tried on a couple pair of this type and I did feel like I probably could have worn them comfortably. There was a pair at Sears few years back that weren't totally different from your that I actually gave serious consideration to buying. But I couldn't pass up the strappy stiletto sandals I ended up buying instead

I rather like those. They sure do look like they'd be comfortable. Nearly wedge like but with a nice thin heel shape. However, I have a real problem keeping slide type shoes on my feet. I can say for sure that I wouldn't be able to run in them...lol! Good luck in finding a pair in size 11 though. Nothing like this in the current Sofft lineup. Everything is chunky, and with rare exception lower than these heels.

You could be right as I'm old and my memory is slipping....lol.

I've never had a desire to own thigh high boots, but the way the snow keeps falling here today, I might need some! This is getting ridiculous.

For the most part, pants/jeans tucked into boots is a relatively recent fashion trend. It wasn't all that common through the 70's and 80's. Pants as a rule were not all that tight fitting through the lower leg either, so tucking into boots would have been more challenging. @HeelsWearerwas just reflecting the style of the time.

I'm with @p1ng74, I find uphill much easier than downhill. Going down, my feet are sliding down into the toebox even more that that caused by the heel height, and that can be uncomfortable.

I don't carry a ruler, though I can't say I've never thought about it. At least for size 11, I do believe these were 4.5" easy.
A little research online shows that these are also available in black. While better than white, it is still a style that, while I really like them, I would not feel comfortable wearing in public. Add the heel being a bit high for me and they are, unfortunately, as no go for me. Too bad, as they fit my foot well! Most often a size 11 with narrow straps such as these would cut my toes pretty badly. These did not. They had enough width for my cloddy foot.

I tried these on at Nordstrom Rack today. Sam Edelman Adaline sandals. They fit my forefoot better than anything I've tried on in quite some time. Unfortunately, they were white, very strappy, and higher than I am comfortable wearing, which means the chances of me ever wearing them in public were nil. The description says heels are 4", but I know I can handle 4", and these felt considerably higher than that. Too bad. Even if I had more opportunity to just wear them at home I probably would have bought them at the $59 price, but it just didn't make sense.

9) Do you find it difficult or uncomfortable to wear low-heels, flats or go barefoot? - No
10) How old were you when you started wearing high heels regularly? - Would wear my Mom's heels when I was young, but not regularly. More regularly in my 30's and older as I had the money to spend on shoes. That said, I didn't wear heels in public with any regularity until maybe 10 years ago.
11) Do you get comments (positive or negative) on your high heels? - Only one time did I get a comment, and it was along the lines of why was I wearing those shoes

19) If you have fallen due to wearing high heels, how often has it happened? - n/a
20) Do you plan on giving up high heels regularly as you get past 60 years old? - Almost 10 years past that already!- 1

The fabulous mayor we have is doing a stellar job at promoting violence, the criminals know there will be no police involvement and certainly no repercussions to them. Not a good place to be these days, so sad.
Isn't that the truth. Sad, as during her campaign I thought she might actually do a decent job. She has been awful. Just glad I don't live in the city proper.
