I have more INC brand heels than any other. They are the house brand of Macys. They are well made & comfortable, but are mostly in a mid heel range.

I finally found a pair of the INC Zitahs in 11W.  They are on order.  Hoping they will be the answer for my tough to fit feet.  I'm really starting to think that buying two different sizes is what it will take to get a pair that truly fit properly.  I think my right foot might be a full size larger than my left.  Certainly a half size at least.  I happened to look at old images I posted in the past and came across a pic of these sandals which shoes the difference.  Note how much more of the sole of the shoe is visible past the end of my toes on the left shoe as opposed to the right.  Probably close to a half inch.

  2. For most of my married life, my wife did wear the shoes I liked.  In fact, I was the one that bought a good portion of her shoes.  While that did keep my desire to wear myself on low, it did not stop it completely by any means.  So the simple answer is, no.

  3. I've had good luck with Bandolino as they seem to fit a bit wider than average.  I think they are a sub-brand of Nine West.  Clarks are also great for boots but hard to find decent heels in their shoes these days.  Same for Aerosoles, comfortable but the styles are headed way downhill.  I recently had a pair of Born wedge sandals that were probably the most comfortable heels I've ever had.

  4. ANyone have the answer to rotating the photos?  I tried to rotate them in the photo app and saved them.  When I opened them on my computer from the app, they were correct orientation.  Then when I copied them here I got sideways again.  Don't get it.

And just a comment on the shoes in my last post.  The heels appear short in the pics.  Must be the angle.  They are a full 4".

  5. Thought I'd post a few pics of me wearing the new slingbacks I posted last week.  While they seem to fit pretty well, my toes start to go numb after 10 minutes of so, so I guess they probably won't get a lot of wear unless they loosen up a bit with wear.  I've tried rotating the first two three times, save them as rotated, but they still come up sideways.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Great looking classic pair of shoes you got there! I hope they settle down, straighten up, and fly right!

Thanks mi.  And I'm not a huge wedge fan either, but those are pretty nice looking.  I like how thin the heel gets.  Almost a stiletto if one looked straight at the back of the shoe.  I don't mind a wedge so much when the overall style of the shoe is more on the delicate side, and these fit that description.  Nice choice.

  7. I bought these today on sale for $17.99.  Adrianne Vittadini Noon.  Heel height is right about 4" in my size 11.  While them seem reasonably comfortable, my toes do squish down into the point and in the brief walk I took in them they were causing some discomfort on the little toe of my larger right foot.  I bought the sling backs thinking that the adjustable sling would allow me to account for my two different sized feet, which it did.  I was able to tighten the left foot strap so it stayed on my foot.  However, it is surprising how much more challenging a sling is than a closed back pump when it comes to walking in them.  I do like the retro 1980's look of these however.  It's not real apparent here, but these have a "V" throat.  Makes my foot look narrow!

I'm sorry to hear this. But at least it's an excuse for her to not wear heels. For you, are there really no opportunities? I had to make some opportunities on my own, stop along the way coming home from work. I feel for you.

I keep my heels in my car, so I can occasionally get out to a store for some heeling (which I happened to do last night.)  But the time is limited.  When I was still employed, I worked at home, and my wife worked in an office, so I had plenty of opportunities to wear heels all day at home, and I miss that.  My feet now let me know that I don't get to wear heels very often (as well as medication that I take that causes foot issues), as the ball of my feet will begin to ache after a pretty short time when out walking around.

However, I dislike running enough that I wouldn't even do it in high heels.

I'm with you there.  I've always admired a woman that could run in heels.  Didn't see it often, but when I did I was impressed.  The one Jurrassic Park movie had the female lead in heels the entire movie, and she did a wonderful job.  And what I liked best was when she got crap about it in the media, she simply said that it was not that big of a deal.  She said that was how a woman with her movie job would dress, and that there was no way anyone smart would take their shoes off and go running around a jungle, as the damage to your feet would be much worse than maybe a twisted ankle.

  10. To me it's like putting a high heel on a sneaker, which I also dislike greatly.  Both are intended for a specific purpose, and a heel doesn't go with that purpose.

To each their own though.  Enjoy if you like.  But you'll never see me in a pair.

  11. You guys are fortunate.  In my midwestern suburb, no real heels.  One woman in maybe 2.5" heeled booties, but besides that, maybe a couple in 2" booties.  Certainly no pumps.  And just a comment Cali, for me, I wish those heeled combat boots would go away.  I just think they look bad.

  12. For many years, much to my enjoyment, my wife was happy to wear heels.  She wore heels to work basically every day, and to church on Sunday.  If we were going out to dinner or another function, more often than not she was wearing heels.  I still had my own desire to wear them, but was largely satisfied by her willingness to indulge me in my desire for her to wear heels.  About 15 years ago, she started having foot problems and then nerve issues.  Various surgeries later, heels were a total thing of the past.  There is no question that once that happened, my desire to wear them went up considerably, as I could no longer do so vicariously through her.  It has been difficult for me to deal with the fact that there is no chance in hell that she'll ever wear heels again.  These days she cannot even wear a dress style low/flat heel shoe.  Most everything she wears is a "comfort", nearly orthopedic style.  It has been a difficult pill for me to swallow.  As I've stated in the past, I am at a point where I feel it is too late to share my desire to wear heels, so my ability to do so is quite limited, especially since she is now home all day as well.  I'm trying hard to get past my issues but admit I am struggling.
