  1. Were you wearing heels with your "girl jeans" and how does she feel about you wearing heels in public?

No, I'm just an admirer, not a heel wearer, but I've nothing against heels for men.

Back to the topic, there are a lot of men here that wear girl jeans on an every day basis and also more and more guy's all over are wearing them just because they like them. It's becoming pretty popular in the US.

So I've heard, which is why I decided to try them. I can see why they like them - they actually fit better than mens jeans, feel good, and look stylish.
  2. OK, not a high heel post, but I thought this might be of interest to the male heel wears here. I take a bit of time to get to the point, so bear with me.

As well as loose fitting jeans for casual wear, I quite like well fitting jeans, possibly with a bit of a flare, for smarter wear. In recent years men's styles have moved more to baggy jeans, and I had read on style forms of many guys buying women's jeans for the better cut/fit – so I decided to try some.

At over 40, I'm old enough to not care what people think, and happy tried on a few styles from the women's section (although I did choose a quiet day when away from home!). I settled on some "Boyfriend" cut jeans which gave the fit and look I wanted without looking too feminine (to me). They look very tailored and trendy and cost less than similar men's jeans have cost me, the rise is lower (which I now quite like the feel and look of) but the pockets are shallower.

I decided to show my lady them without initially mentioning that they were girls jeans, but astute as she is, she said "those are girls jeans, aren't they". I told her what I had read on forums, and asked if it was a problem to which she said no, they look good on me. She also commented that they showed off my arse better than other jeans I have.

So that weekend I wore them out with her to a small family dinner. Whilst out she said that she was happy with me wearing them, but that because I was wearing them that I needed to be "even more of a man".

The next time I wore them with her (out to a show) I mentioned that the lower waist (about 2-3 inches lower than mens jeans I have) felt quite nice. Also, looking for reassurance (as we were out in public), I asked a few times if they looked OK on me, and that they didn't look too feminine. Later she said that I was dwelling too much on the fact that they were girls jeans, and that she had concerns. I said that if she didn't want me to wear them, that I wouldn't, but her issue wasn't me wearing the jeans, but that I was starting to make an issue of it. That was last weekend.

Since then, I've worn them again with her once and didn't mentioned them, which she seamed fine with. (I've worn my male jeans other times, and generally would most of the time as they have a more causal look.)

Her comments made me think of the male heel wears here, who I suspect may have similar conversations with their significant others.

So my post isn't so much about does your other half mind you wearing certain clothing (probably heels for most here), but for those who's partners don't mind, are there any kind of unwritten rules, or ways they expect you to act?

  3. My new faves :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Very nice! These might make a good present for my lady!

But I can't find them on your web site.

    How much are they Gina?

And what colours can you do them in?

  4. My lady actually has these YSL heels in Black Patent (so if you have any questions feel free to ask). We brought them last week after she managed to track down a pair at the Old Bond Street (London) boutique. They mainly have a lower version (around 4", but with a similar 1" platform) on display, but do have some limited stock of the 6" version. Obviously, as a seasoned heel wearer she has no problems walking in them, but due to the cost (£340) they will be more of what she calls a "Car-ter-bar" shoe (ie. car to bar - taxi pulls up outside, and she only walks from the taxi into where ever we are going for an evening out, then back to a taxi outside at the end). Damn, she makes them look good!

  5. You are the best judge of how she will take it when you tell her. It's certainly best to be open and honest about everything in a relationship, and right now you're not. But when you tell her, she will probably be most disappointed that you have been keeping a secret from her for all this time. I think however you tell her, it will be difficult for both of you, but it would be much worse if she found out without you telling her. Now a selfish angle to this: If you have been patiently waiting (rather than nagging her) to get in to heels, and she is just coming around to the idea, then now may not be the best time to tell her. She might assume that her wearing heels more has something to do with your announcement of wanting to wear heels, and rebel by stop wearing them. Unfortunately I can't offer any real advice, other than to repeat that secrets are a bad thing in a relationship.

  6. Just seen the lead singer of the French entry, dressed in male attire definately wearing heels.Look like at least 3inch block heels.

If i can get a capture later i'll put it up.

I only saw part of the contest, but I also noticed the French lead singers heels. Probably a fashion choice rather than any kind of heel wearing statement.
  7. Something has just hit me. How many men out there love to see women in heels but don't wear them and are not bothered by seeing other men in heels?

    I'm one!

I LOVE seeing women in heels - which is why I come here. ;)

But I'm not a heel wearer myself. In fact until I first visited Jenny's forum many years ago, the thought had never really crossed my mind.

However in recent years I have occasionally tried on heels with two female partners in the bedroom, and found it to be fun as part of our play. But I don't feel any need to wear them.

But I have no problem with seeing men wearing heels - in fact I'm all for individuality and self expression. And if they were mainstream fashion for guys (ie masculine styles in the high street stores) I would happily wear two or three inch heels myself.

  8. Don't do/say anything. If you stare at other women's shoes, or keep bring up the subject of heels, she may think you are are obsessed with heels. (OK, maybe you are, but that will scare some women off.) Just wait until she chooses to wear them, and then compliment her on how she looks in them, or how well she wears them (but don't make to big a thing of it). Making her feel good about wearing them may make her want to wear them more often. It's much better to have a girl friend that wears 5 inch heels occasionally, than no girl friend at all!!

  9. The Little Shoe Box closed a couple of years ago. I believe that Gino wanted to retire, and his son didn't want to take over the business. There was a long thread on it here: http://www.hhplace.org/discuss/shoe_wholesale_retail_internet_stores/7020-thelittleshoebox_com.html

Dr Shoe from this forum did look at buying the business at one point, but eventually just brought up the redundant stock. I don't know if he has any left - I did ask on this forum a couple of times if he had anything left to sell, but never got an answer.

I don't believe that The High Heel factory is anything to do with with The Little Shoe Box, but maybe someone could clarify that.

  10. They come from www.elite-heels.com

and yes, i've worn them out. they are excellent quality so i hope soon i can wear them for very long periods standing and walking....

    Hi Fashionista,

    I assume they are these:

They definitely look much better on you than they do in the above picture.

How is the fit and sizing? (I might have to order some for my lady!)

  11. "Manbags" are quite fashionable here in the UK. I've seen quite a few guys with these messenger / courier bags - particularly in Brighton, but also in London.

I think they look very smart, and not at all feminine.

I'm talking about the smart flat rectangular shoulder strap type, worn with the strap diagonal from the opposite shoulder. A bit like this picture, but plain black and less causal. The best looking ones are more flat and leather (a bit like a flap top briefcase on a shoulder strap) but I couldn't find a picture.

Edit: This is more the kind of bag I mean.

Click here for an article about manbags.

However, if you're talking about about a full on woman's handbag, then it depends on the kind of look you want to achieve.

  12. Actually she had to be carried (by me and her husband, lucky sod that I am) because she couldn't move an inch in the hobble skirt and heels combo. The shoes are a size 36 or UK size 3 which will give you an idea of the arch that she had to put up with. In fairness to her though, throughout the weekend, she was otherwise wearing 9-10cm thigh boots so she's not averse to heels.

    Wow!

    Thanks for posting Richy.

It's often been posted here that it is harder to stand for long periods in heels than it is to walk around in them.

How long did she manage to stand there in those heels? How was she afterwards?

  13. Hi All,

I'm very lucky to have a lady that wears 4 inch stilettos most of the time, but even she needs something more practical sometimes.

She has some chunky wedge mules that are now starting to fall to bits, and we want to replace them with something similar.

    Similar to this

but with a higher chunkier sole like this

Unfortunately this style of shoe (with a reasonable heel height) is out of fashion, and the only things I have been able to find are shoes like the first picture (ie not very high) or this

    Posted Image

from Schuh, which is just plain ugly.

So does anyone know anywhere in the UK that is still selling these types of chunky mule (like the first or second picture) with a heel or around 3-4 inches? Maybe a less trendy store or a clearance store that has styles from a couple of years ago.
