during the late 'sixties or early 'seventies after seeing adverts in 'Exchange and Mart' for ultra-high heels, and even ventured to send for some catalogues. The shoes were expensive and money was tight, and in addition the companies advertising seemed a bit sleazy, …..
The catalogues are still slightly 'fetishy' in presentation, and I resent the implications, but being older and stronger (and even more determined!) I ignore that side of things and just enjoy the sensations I feel, and the admiring looks, and sometimes comments, I get while wearing such expressive footwear..
Hi Anne Louise,
You posted the above in Lucy’s Story, and I wanted to pick up on the point without hijacking that thread.
My girlfriend of around 5 months mainly wears 4 to 4.5 inch heels and is open to the idea of trying something higher. However she has been a bit put off by the occasional web site I have shown her.
As you say, many retailers of very high heels come across a bit sleazy (the home page of http://www.leatherworks.org.uk/ is a good example) or the shoes can look cheap and nasty on some other sites. (She is, quite rightly, very particular about her shoes, normally buying from stores such as Dune, and dreams of Jimmy Choo’s.)
Of course really I would like to take her somewhere to try on rather than risk mail order.
Have you ever found any non-sleazy stores selling quality/designer shoes with heels above 5 inches in the UK? Or anyone else? Anywhere else in Europe (nice excuse for a weekend away)? Or does such a place not exist?

VERY nice shoes! I went in to a branch of Dune with my girl friend for the first time ever yesterday. They have some stuning shoes, some similar to the above.
-
Looks like everyone’s between 5' 5" & 6' 4"! No surprise really. I would suggest a new pole with steps of 2" if you want to get a better idea. It could also include metric conversions for the Europeans.

Welcome Anne_Louise!
It's great to see another lady who is competent in 5inch+ heels!
We all know that it takes a lot of practice and dedication to walk (and even run) with ease in such high heels.
Maybe you might consider posting about how achieved this, and any other stories, in the "Stories with a heely theme" section, or over on the sister forum here: http://members3.boardhost.com/jennyheels/?982958163
Rob
PS: Where do you buy your 5inch+ heels from?

Hi JayZee,
it's not only you. It looks like the origonal pic at http://users.skynet.be/sky13416/pics/zwart2.jpg no longer exsists, or has been moved.

Welcome KroMoZoMe! Those are great looking boots. I bet she was very pleased with them. Where did you get them? A shop, or web/mail order? Rob

I think these mules are amazing. How does that thin strap keep them on the feet?
Paul
You may remember a few months ago there were some pictures of German TV presenter Sonya Kraus in one of the threads. At the time I found these pictures of her on a site. If you think the above shoes look hard to keep on, think of Sonya presenting her show in these:
These and other pics can be found at http://www.sonyakraus.de.tt/
PS: This is my first picture posting. 'Hope it works OK!

I remember reading in an issue of "Skin Two" some years ago that Roger and Sarah Adams had "become victims of the recession".
…….I’ve just pulled out the issue - it was issue 11 of Skin Two. They don't put dates on the issues, so I can't say exactly when it was, but they are now at issue 46, and the London phone numbers within are all the old 071 & 081 area codes!
A google on the address Firefox found looks like it is a Pottery Painting Café now:
If you are really determined, you could try calling the present occupiers of the address to see if they have any contact details for Roger and Sarah Adams, or they may be able to give you a number for the landlord, who may keep records on previous leases.
Could it be the same Roger and Sarah Adams now selling Car & Cycle parts in Emsworth (approx 30 miles along the cost from Brighton)?
(Google is a wonderful thing!)

Hi All,
My girlfriend loves these "D-Ring" boots on the Gianmarco Lorenzi site:
http://www.gianmarcolorenzi.com/lorenzi.asp?id=1
I see that Frederick's of Hollywood also sell something similar:
Ideally I would like to find something similar in a UK shop (so that she could actually try on), or from a UK or European mail order supplier (to allow easier exchange if fit is not idea).
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help everyone.

Hi Anna Fantastic Boots! Where did you buy them from? (And do you mind me asking how much they cost?) Rob

Guten Tag Gina, Danken! - That's about all the German I know Thank you for more wonderful pictures. You can't beat the classic black patent court shoe for eligance

Hi Anita Good luck in your waist training and reaching your goal. Does that mean you will be lacing 23/7 or will you only wear a corset durring the day?

I believe that Ritual Shoes were manufactured by Leatherworks, although I can't see anything like these at http://www.leatherworks.org.uk

My faves are high-heeled mules with a small platform and peep-toe.
Fantastic! Great Mules.
I'm not so keen on the red ones further up. The platform is a bit to big for my taste.
But even with the small platform, these silver ones look great on you.
-
Here is another picture with "dolly-style" mules.
Great mules!
I don't normally like platforms, but these, and the red ones on the last page look great on you!
Where do you buy them from?

Hi Gina,
Great taste in shoes. I love the look of these on you too.
Is that your home that the pictures are taken in? If so, your taste in furniture is as good as your taste in shoes! Very stylish.

Have you seen the Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aquilera show at the MTV prize ceremony? Madonna wore some cool black thigh-high stiletto leather boots and moved wonderfully in them.
So did Christina and Britney in their white knee-high boots
Although I noticed that Britney had to hold on to the railing whilst carefully walking down the stairs at the start. (She even pulled down some of the decoration rapped around the railing as she slid her hand down it.) Christina just confidently strode down the same stairs without using the railing.
But then Britney has only started wearing heels fairly recently in her career. "Xtina" has worn them from the start. (If you look at most of her early videos she has on 4" block heels, but often had trousers covering most of the heel.)

....this page [13] is taking a long time to load isn't it?
/I
{P.S. ignore if this is first post on page 14!}
I've just removed the Mariah shoe room picture from my post of 14/11/03 to try and help. It was just a quote from Robert's previous post, and the same pic is in other posts anyway.

I was also meaning to mention Kylie Minogue too; however, I was in a department store passing through the TV dept. and a new pop video was running on a giant 42" LCD or Plasma screen. It was Kylie but her act was largely done bare foot rather than in heels. Mind you it was full of erotic intent, one does wonder about pop videos these days...
/I
Well she is laying on a towel near a pool, so I guess that's why she is bare foot. But if you look closely next time you see the video, there is a pair of black stiletto's laying near her feet.
She obviously walked over to her position in them and slipped them off at the last moment. Either that, or she just wanted to make sure there were some nice heels in her video!

For more details of Mariah's Shoe Room, see this page from a French fan site (hence the poor english) here:

I saw her in concert a couple of weeks ago - excellent!
She wore what looked like five inch heels, with a one inch platform throughout.
-
I'm using a pair of 6.5" black patent stilettos.
What do you think?
If they are without a platform, I'm thinking I would like to see some pictures!

We also refer to it in the UK as gaffer tape. I think that is a reference from the film industry gaffer = head electrician.
Certainly on exhibitions I have worked on it is very much in evidence.
Although Duct Tape and Gaffer Tape look similar, they are different.
Duct Tape will stick to ANYTHING. And when removed it can remove skin, or even plie from a carpet. On metal, wood, or even cable, it can leave a white sticky residue once removed. I beleive it gets its name from the orginal use for making a permanent air tight joint on aircon ducts.
Gaffer Tape is not quite so sticky, but will still stick to carpet or dusty floors. As it leaves no residue, it is oftern used for temporaily tapeing down cables (to prevent someone tripping) at exhibitions for example.
If you want to enhance your cleaveage (like the lady in the black dress) then Gaffer Tape is what you need.

JayZee, I would love to see Sonya K walk "live" as well!
The fan website has some vids, but I can only seem to get sound from them :-(
I just had a look around the site from your last link. There is an archive of outfits she wore in various shows, with some close ups of her shoes.
But then I came across this. Go to http://www.prosieben.de/comedy/talktalktalk/specials/galleries/
Then click on >Sonyas Schuhe - Teil 1, 2 & 3. Close up pics of lots of her shoes. Not the black courts (pumps) though.
(I still prefer the full length shots to the shoe close ups. It's more about the whole look for me.)

I was at a party on Saturday, and a very attractive girl of around 18/19 had on some very nice white stiletto sandals with around 4 inch heels. As the dancing progressed, many of the girls took their shoes of and danced in bare feet. (I always find this tacky.)
This girl was one of the last ones still dancing in heels, but eventually took hers off around half an hour before the end. She then danced and moved around on her toes as if she still had on invisible 3 inch heels, not putting her heels down to the ground once.
It may be because she was concerned about the floor being dirty, but the thought went through my mind that maybe she couldn’t walk without heels. Her legs certainly looked just as attractive like this as they did in shoes.
At the end, most of the girls stayed in bare feet, but she put her shoes straight back on.
