CAT, your outfits never disappoint! That electric blue dress matches some platform sandals I got last year from funkypair. I think that blue could be visible at 200 yards away. If you did enter the best dressed contest next year it would be hard to beat. I’m willing though to compete for sassiest heels though. HinH

Agree with Mlroseplant and others. Was a frequent Aldo customer and made a friend who worked there 6 years. Around 2011 Aldo included half sizes and that brought about a closer correlation to other retailers and their sizes. Typically they would stock only to US11/EU42. Bigger sizes needed to be ordered online or in store. Lots of great styles and most made in China. Some styles have been produced in Brazil recently. My best advice is you should try on the heels you want in person to be satisfied. Buying a brand you have no experience with can prove a fool’s errand as sizing can vary by brand, style of vamp /toe box, and country of manufacture. Aldo is headquartered in Montreal and I’ve been in that store when visiting family members in Quebec. Keep searching and don’t give up. HinH

Mlroseplant, I must say any previous fear you may have has apparently passed. 5.5” heels is an achievement indeed. You coordinate it all well. I get heels selectively now usually to match a pair of pants, dress, or skirt I have. Keep making that corner of Iowa a stylish place. HinH

Mlroseplant Fascinating and I believe I have an idea what initiated his question after all these years. Faced with increased age, mid 50’s I believe based on your age, and his current health issues his curiosity about your heels got the better of him and he reached out albeit without customary greetings. I believe he has always wanted to wear them and is clinging to his distant connection to you. It could’ve been been far more personal and fun to meet in person. He could’ve met you for coffee and seen you in heels and his questions would’ve been answered. His approach doomed it to failure. Honestly I’m surprised it hasn’t happened more often given how visible you’ve been in your small Des Moines suburb. Btw that outfit of red jeans, pink shirt, and red pumps looked spectacular. HinH

Hiddenheels, Very well described indeed. Seems a realistic representation of what one may face as you venture out semi-dressed en femme. The girl peering into the men’s bathroom is crossing a line I mean imagine vice-versa you’d hear screams! Just keep getting out there and enjoying your own fashion. I bought my first maxi dress a few years ago and wore some Bakers “Peyton” pumps with it and loved the look. I should post it sometime. Thanks for your stories. HinH
