I find that heels makes walking uphill even easier, so uphill both ways would be ideal! It’s actually downhill that becomes more treacherous.

One thing I do like about these overalls is that I can zip up the legs to show a little more of the boots

Will be interested in hearing your opinion on MJ boots. It has been quite a few years since I bought my last pair, but they were at least one size too big. I should have gotten 3-4" heels instead of the 5" heels, which aren't much good for walking... Yours look great, hope to see more close up pics... They were priced pretty reasonably when I bought them, and the leather/quality seemed good also....
Ah come on now, no such thing as too many great cowboy boots....
The MJ boots arrived today. I love the smell of fresh leather. I have been wearing cowboy boots with 3.5" boots every day, all day, so I thought it would be a nice side by side comparison to see how MJ stacks up.
They fit, and I pretty much feel at home in them. I have tried on a lot of different cowboy boots and never found a boot maker or brand that deviates that much in sizing, so I ordered my usual size. My initial impressions are that the length is correct, and the width is MAYBE a little wide. They feel a bit like some of the boots I have tried from companies that don't manufacture D and EE widths, and so they do a "large D" to try to cover the market. The 3.5" heel feels identical to what I am already used to, so I am totally comfortable stepping into these MJ boots and go to town all day in them.
The pointy toe style is wild! It actually creates the illusion of the shoe being bigger, because of how far the pointiness extends beyond the toe box. It's weird to look down and see the roach killer shape, as it's not really my style, but perhaps it'll grow on me.
Even the shaft circumference fits my skinny legs pretty well for being off-the-shelf.
I'd say the experiment was a success. I have prefect fitting true custom boots to wear already, and there is no way these will take their place. But there might be days that I might not want to do something in my nice boots, and still have that familiar high heeled cowboy boot look and feel.
At these prices, I might just go ahead and order a made-to-order pair, with the color, shaft height, and toe style I want, knowing the sizing is fine. Maybe go higher with the heels too, and try 4", since 3.5" was so at home for me.

If you like it and it fits, buy it and wear it. Life is too short to be holding our breath waiting for the fashion industry to tell me when it's ok to wear heels, skirts, or anything in particular really. But yes, it's a good sign when the retailers try to catch up to us...

I have read your thread a few times now @Cali, all your ankle boots and booties are just brilliant. As for the over the knee and knee highs, those don’t interest me unless they are cowboy boots.
I found my cowboy boots a few days ago as well. Nice Tony Lamas with a sedate 1 & 5/8 heel. That’s a heel that just ain’t cricket any more. Love the look of them on though!!!
Im probably going to do what you did, wear heels for a year or so under my jeans, then slowly unveil them to the world. Maybe get jeans that are a couple of inches longer in their leg length.
Be similar to the dude in this video:
That look is so hot it’s unbelievable. It would totally confuse so many folk in a crowded place.
Fortunately, 1 5/8" heels and higher in cowboy boots are are still pretty ubiquitous around here. Which is why I go way higher, 3.5" for daily wear.
I've walked around in heels in a lot of crowded places and have yet to raise enough confusion to be noticeable, which is the way it should be:

Ah come on @mlroseplant, don't you work on your cars in heels? What if you need a part? Do you get all dressed up to go get that part?
I wear these boots with 2.5” heels, and I switch to higher heels if I have to go get a part lol.

And no, I do not wear high heels when operating the snow blower. That’s impractical. I’m past all of that.
Awww, I’m sure we can find you something appropriate, like this:

Not only classical performance, but practically any style. Boogie Woogie probably does not require the use of the pedal, but most styles do to make the piano sound like the piano. However, actually operating the pedal requires minimal movement, and of course the heel of the shoe remains in the same spot on the floor. It's just not a big deal to play in heels or flats. It's a non-issue. That's why I discounted the piano, and pretty much every other instrument, with the noted exceptions. And yes, Pascale Melis is amazing.
Sort of reminds me of this:
Though, based on your criteria, which considers the amount of foot movement, that would place the harp a bit more challenging than the piano, as it has 7 pedals, and depending on the piece they get used fairly often as they have to be moved any time the piece calls for any accidentals. But it’s still nothing like the precision of playing organ, nor anything as complicated as operating a clutch pedal, which I find doable in my racecar in 4+” heels but it feels a little weird. Interestingly, it feels totally fine in 3.5” heels - that extra bit of angle is just at my threshold between totally comfortable and stretching.

The price on this run of Miguel Jones with 3.5” heels was too low not to try out. Already made and supposedly in my size, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Another pair of black cowboy boots is arguably the last thing I need right now, but it would be interesting to see how MJ sizing is without going all out.

I agree. In fact, I'm hoping I have a somewhat masculine gait while walking in my boots, but who knows.
I've seen you walk in person - it looks pretty natural to me! And here is how I walk, what do you all think:

This is a must-do. We literally have a mile of outdoor water lines supplying troughs and I was amazed that even after 4 days below freezing, including the night that it dipped 24 degrees below, those faucets were still running! And when the power went out on the 5th day, nothing broke because as things froze it allowed for expansion.
