  1. Stoney and JeffB count your financial blessings. I have size 10 feet and its just too easy to buy and buy and buy. I only have two pairs of men's shoes left, used for digging in muddy conditions, and I'm out of room for heels. I have three 2 ft by 6 ft bookcases with 8 - 10 shelves each with 2 - 3 pairs per shelf.

It's forced me to learn to go shoe shopping and try on shoe just for the fun of it. To be extremely selective when I purchase, set boundaries or have boundaries set for you - like space to store them :). I use to not be able to understand why some women liked to go shoe shopping so often. Now I understand it and enjoy this activity as well. Styles come and go so fast, some shoes sell out fast and you have to jump on them.

Everyone on a trip somewhere should research the nearest Nordstrom Rack to their route because I call it the "Shoe Disneyland". No other store has a shoe section like it. Once you experience it you'll see for yourself!  HappyinHeels

I think it depends on where you shop and your foot size. I've never found any shoes I wanted to buy at the Nordstrom Rack near me either.  I rather go to a DSW.

I love those boots, but I can't find them in a size14. Do know if they make such size?

They Madden Girl Krisis, about 2 years ago.  I found the last new pair of size 10 on the internet in January and got them.

The Steve Madden family of shoes, Madden GirlSteven by Steve MaddenSteve Madden, and Freebird only go to size 11, sorry.

I had many men ask me were did I find these boots because they would like a pair and I have had several women also ask me about them for themselves.  I have 3 pairs.

Most of my boots have a 3-4 inch western heel.  That is "my" style.  It's also what my high arch seems happy walking in and wearing all day.  I have some that are lower of course and even a pair of 5" Frye's from a few years ago.  Here in Texas they love boots and I get many compliments.

How often do you get asked by other men "where did you get those boots, I want a pair?" when you've got your 4" or 5" boots on?

I've had several men want to get a pair of my Madden Girl calf high boots.  I just tell them truth, "sorry they're sold out."

Cali,  That was quick reply.          And those rules are very sound.      I do need to set those kind of limits     Never thought I would have more than one pair!

    My Two Rules have stories.

    (1) they have to fit.

Several years ago I was in the clearance racks at DSW looking for my first 4 inch heel. A woman shopping the same racks saw me try on a pair of 4 inch booties and walk around in them. She came over and told me "Life's too short for shoes that don't fit." She then went on to say that only buy shoes that fit on the first day. The only thing is sometimes you just got to have that pair, but then there are shoe stretcher for those pairs.

    (2) I have to be able to wear them to work. I limit my "play" shoes to only 3 pairs.

This is my way of keeping my shoes under control. I know I have more shoes that 80% of the women out there. I know I have 5 times more pairs than my ex-wife ever had (much taller and better looking too). My shoes are not a collection as much as they're my wardrobe. I need to try to limit myself to 3 new pairs a year, otherwise I will never get a chance to wear them enough.  Only 3 play shoes, shoes that I am not comfortable wearing in public. If I can't wear them to work I'll almost never wear them. But I still would like to have a pair - like those stiletto knee high suede boots with tassels some just posted. And since being on here I also thinking about some stiletto pumps like so many others have here.

  7. This is a serious issue for me. I love shoes and shoe shopping. I could easily have several hundred pairs. But I only have two feet and a limited space in my walk in closet. So I have two rules:

    (1) they have to fit, I put them on in the morning, take them off at night, they need to go the distance.

    (2) I have to be able to wear them to work. I limit my "play" shoes to only 3 pairs.

For me heels are just my way of life now.

  8. I always liked boots and booties.  In the 70's-90's I had a pair of shoeties with a 3 inch heel my first wife gave me. Wore those shoes until they finally fell apart. :(

Then 10 years ago by chance I found out I could fit women's size ten. I needed water shoes for a tropical vacation. The sporting goods store was out of the men's water shoe in my size, so I tried a women's version (better choice of colors too). They fit better that the men's version one size above my size.

I have had many ankle problems over my lifetime, sprained both ankles over 100 times each, multiple major surgeries. I was looking for new running shoes and search the internet for what might fit my feet. I decided that women's shoes had a better chance to fit, so I purchased some cheap running shoes to try out the concept. They fit better than any shoes I had ever had.  I have not purchase any men's shoes since then.  I started to buy booties with a 1.5 to 3 inch heel. Several years ago I had the need to raise both heels 4 inch.  I have been wearing 4+ inch heels ever since.  I hardly ever wear my short heels any more.

  9. Sorry Stoney but I'm a boot, booties and wedge fan.  I spend over 10 hours a day in heels, standing and walking, and the surface is not always flat.  Needle heels are just to hard for that long of a day. I'm not a pump fan myself.  Since I have a very high arch pumps tend to cut into the tops of my toes. But seeing some of the pumps on this site has me re-thinking this and I plan to try on some open toe pumps the next time I go shoe shopping.
