  1. I have been mixing men's and women's clothing for many years.  I usually wear about 60%+  female clothing.  I like some styles that aren't available in men's (like sleeveless turtlenecks), I like the expanded colors, and fit - I not into the baggy look. Yes, this is cross dressing, but the look I get is male, a well dressed male with high heels. I wear with confidence and have no issues with "my look". No dresses or skirts, just not my style.

When Rubio's heels was brought up in the presidential race some of my friends pointed this out and jokingly asked if I was his fashion consultant. I told them that I was at the forefront of fashion and Rubio was just following my lead (tongue in cheek).

  2. My physios had me walk in my high heels to make sure I was walking correctly in them, that my gait was correct. They noted that I limp when I am flat and the limp goes away at 2 inch, and at 4 inches and higher my gait was the best.

But being far less expensive than clumpy therapeutic devices is a fallacy.  I have designer taste and over 40 heels, some as much as $300.

  3. I felt that this topic was better situated in the women's forum area because very few males will seriously consider this problem. But for me its a very serious concern.  I have damaged both calves, major tear in one and a minor tear in the other, and have damaged one of my Achilles tendons.  I started to wear high heels as a result of my calf's injury and discovered a life changing unexpected benefit from wearing heels.  The benefit is so dramatic that I wear 4 inch heels openly most of the time now, up to 18 hours some days. And I play sports so I need to maintain my calves.

I take this issue very seriously, if you ever tore your calf you will know this is extremely painful and you never want to do it again. A 15 month rehab is no fun either. So I do stretches as often as I can to help keep my calves healthy.

oh my goodness i had a nightmare that my long black hair was shaved off!

    whew...  a nightmare indeed!

I remember when I had hair like that (longer), a distant memory now.

Love these platforms. But I find JS shoes are not made for high arches, usually the straps on JS shoes are just too small for my toe box/arch. I like to wear these type of shoes with (short) shorts and a polo shirt or Hawaiian shirt. If you can wear these heels you might as well show them off.

When I wear shoes like that women have told me they are called CFM's. (See my CFM album.) I find those shoes give you a sense of power and confidence, fun heels to strut your stuff in. But they are unforgiving to walk in, slightest misstep can mean instant trouble.

Edited to add.  These are Steve Madden Dreamgrls

  5. Since I live in high heels now, so I pay attention to where I put my foot down. This is an absolute must when in stilettos. Sometimes I need to walk on uneven surfaces.  With single sole shoes I fell small imperfections in the surface, so I like my platforms.

  6. Yes, very easy to walk in and stand in all day.  Been out for a night of dancing in my brown pair as well. Even wore them running around Brisbane and Sydney last year.

  7. These pair of Steve Madden Lace-up wedges have been worn a lot by me.  Very comfortable.  But as you can see in the photo this pad came up.

Whats the best glue to use to glue it back down?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. LuvsStiletto I would recommend the discount card.  I had very good service at DSW and have made many purchases.  I had sale associates help me find shoes, show me the location of different styles and help locate my size.  They also have a great return policy, so if I order shoes on line and they don't fit just perfect it very easy to do a store return.

I have had many chats with the checkout women.  They see I'm in heels, so they ask if I found the shoes I was looking for or tell me your'll love these - I have a pair too.

I absolutely hated shopping for men's shoes - they never fit.  Shopping for women's shoes in person (aka shoes that fit) is so much fun.  The variety that's out there is seemingly endless.  So many shoes BUT only two feet.

  9. Some of my favorites are these "Charles by Charles David", basic laser cut out sandals.

I have the one strap Affluent in white and black and the two strap Apollo in turquoise.  You wont believe how many women come up to me to tell me they love these wedges when I wear them.

  10. hernaezjames I drive in 4-7 inch heels all the time, I just don't drive in stilettos anymore. Got the tip stuck in the carpet and almost had an accident.  So I take my right stiletto off when I drive.

Went shoe shopping at a large mall.  Went to several stores that carry shoes I like and fit.  Tried on several heels but nothing was in the "Just Have To Have It" category.  But shoe shopping in person is always fun and enjoyable.
