We're way cooler than Insta. Don't wanna hang out with the cool kids anymore? Mmmmm, that's ok. . .
Edit: @straight.in.heels no longer brings up anything on my Insta. Have you deleted your account?
@mlroseplant oof I promise you all are still the coolest kids around! I really need to take some time and update here, but some parts I may need to redact based on what I’ve been reading as of late...
as for the Instagram, thanks for pointing that out! I did not delete it, I merely renamed it to jeff.in.heels because I decided my sexuality did not need to be referenced in my user name

I plan to. I’ve so much to update but as I mentioned in my reply to @mlroseplant , I realize that I’ll need to redact some of it to stay in line with recent enforcements.

Hey @kneehighs I am still here. Haven’t been active much for many reasons, but I’ve started posting a lot on Instagram.
I probably should do some updates here too

KneeBooted, were you otherwise in male clothing that night? Often wondered if a drag show would be a good place for wearing heels but in male mode.
Yep. I’ve only ever dressed in drag, but not trying to pass, on maybe 2 occasions in my life. No one seemed to be bothered by a guy in heels

I never been to Starbase Q . You can bet after Covid is done , I will try to find it ........ if it's still open . I always liked going to Connection , it was a very laid back atmosphere . It seemed as if I never met a stranger when visiting . Outdide of the drinks being kind of costly ( like most other clubs ) you almost sure to have a great time . The police never bothered anyone leaving .
Starbase Q has since closed iirc. It wasn’t as popular as Connection.
I now live out in Newark, CA which is considered the Bay Area, and there are some other clubs in the city that once COVID subsides, I sure hope to visit.

You must have gone to Connection! That was the place for drag shows in Louisville! When I lived there, I used to frequent that place often!
KneeBooted , that would be correct . Unfortunately they have closed due to hospital expansions on South Floyd Street . The good news , there is another place with drag shows called Play , I have yet to check them out .
Yeah I was still living there when they closed. I have not been to Play yet. There used to be another place called Starbase Q that was fun to go to as well back in the day.

Year's ago my wife and I went to a drag show in Louisville , KY . I had a few drinks . I was wearing these faux sued peep toe pumps with about a 1/2" platform . My wife asked me to get her a drink so being a noble husband , I felt it my duty . We were sitting close to the stage on the lower row . Given the fact I had her drink and mine there was no way to hold onto the handrail . So .I proceeded down to my smiling wife and on the next to last step ........ my heel got caught in the carpet and I did a face plant right in the middle of the show . Yes , I did spill both drinks ! What was worse was the Drag Queen on stage stopped and said " QUEEN DOWN , CAN WE GET SOME MORE DRINK'S and Honey , you better check those heels " . I did check my heels and sure enough the faux sued had torn around the heel on one and the platform on the other . What was bad , these were one of the only pair I ever owned with a small platform and stiletto .
After the show , my wife and I were able to meet the Queen that was performing during my comedy act . She was really nice . Some of the other people who had seen the whole incident ordered us some drinks . Looking back , it was more funny than anything .

There’s a woman who works here at my office and is always on the move. She wears a pair of boots similar to these and seeing as how she wears them almost every day, I assume she likes them and finds them to be comfortable.

They actually look like really nice boots there, I’d see about sorting out those worn soles and wearing them regularly, can’t really see the heels in that picture and is that a back zip i can see too, good luck with the shrinking although I’m not too optimistic about that I’m afraid
@maninboots I should’ve clarified, the picture is of the boots that my wife got me. The ones I found for testing on are some black riding boots that I haven’t yet received.

Yeah I’m not against the idea of having a cobbler bring them in, but it’s a matter of finding a good one.

Yes, this theory makes some sense....Also uses the heat off your legs to help dry the boots gently.....
Post some pics of the Frye boots and how the fit your legs, with and without jeans.... I love Frye boots, but they seem to run a little small, tough to find in larger sizes....Surely worth an attempt to make them fit you better....Wondering if a good shoe/boot cobbler might have some suggestions also...
I’ll try to post pictures later today for the fit issues. The calves are just so big and I hate the gap when over jeans and under jeans it makes it look silly.
I would love to get the advice of a cobbler, but haven’t had a good recommendation for my area.

From what I was reading, the idea of wearing them after soaking them is to keep them from shrinking too much. What I was reading suggested that they’ll shrink regardless of you wearing them as they dry, but using your feet/legs as a form. This way if they did shrink a considerable amount, it wouldn’t be too much so as to make it uncomfortable to wear.

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted on the forum, but I’ve found myself posting more and more on Instagram. Life is staying busy even during the shelter in place.
That being said, I have a question regarding shrinking leather shafts of some boots I just got. My wife and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary, and as a surprise, she found a pair of Frye boots I absolutely love and she got them at a very good price from Poshmark. The foot fits great and quite comfortable. The downside is that the shaft is too big when worn over or under any jeans I have.
So I have been trying to read up and saw a couple of suggestions:
1) soak the section of boots I wish to shrink for about an hour to get them good and wet. Make sure that I also wear a pair of wet socks or whatever underneath them as well. Then wear them around until the socks/jeans dry and then let them air dry the rest of the way
2) Spray the section to shrink with hot water and use a blow dryer on low-medium heat to dry them out, applying conditioner once done to prevent cracking.
I have enough time to do the first once, and it seems less harsh than the second option. Has anyone ever been able to successfully do this? I am ordering conditioner and cleaner tonight.

With all of this time off I think I may get a few items to try some different looks although I only have khakis and jeans for bottoms. I’ll try to post what I find and will welcome feedback

@mlroseplant I usually look for t-shirts at Old Navy because they routinely go on sale for $6/each. But I never buy women’s shirts from there because to buy a size to fit my chest area, the bottom of the shirt is too wide. I.E. they don’t make slim fit shirts.
That is the link to the shirt I bought. Yes I get crew neck because to me the v-neck on most women’s shirts comes too low.
I used to try and avoid the basic t-shirt look for warm weather, but lately I’ve been finding that I prefer short sleeves to long sleeves. If you have any suggestions for ideas to look at, I’ll glad welcome them!

Well we are dealing with Shelter in Place here in the Bay Area which means stay home unless you’re essential for work or have a darn good reason to go out.
Aside from that, I took a couple of days off so that we could work on potty training our son.
This extra time leads me to start shopping online...
So in an effort to find some more shirts, I went back to browsing the Target app and found some t-shirts that were Target’s in-house brand called A New Day. They were on sale for $5 so I figured what the heck.
As a trial though, I only ordered black. The fit seems a little tight but good. I think the next size up would’ve been a bad fit.
I put together with it my skinny jeans from American Eagle and Nine West knee high boots.
