  1. Sandals are my preferred style, I like them and the climate where I live allows one to wear sandals year round, which is nice.  I have these very similar pair to the ones you pictured above.  The are "almost wedges" from Payless Shoes around 3 inches high.  I have had them for a few years now and they are still in good shape.  Comfy, easy on and off and a tiny bit "blingy" (cute?) as well.  I like 'em.  Sometimes it's good to be cute.  Smile...  sf

  2. I miss Payless Shoes....   I know they have an online presence, but it just ain't the same....

And I also remember "those days" when most all gals shoes and sandals went only to size 10 (some even only to a 9 1/2).  Fortunately now days stylish gals shoes and sandals go to a size 12 and some even to a 13!!  Paradise alive...  smile..    sf

  3. My grandparents fled communism, socialism, murdering oppression, whatever you choose to call it, and fled with their lives to freedom and liberty.  They never looked back, and died of old age as free, happy and successful individuals.  Soviets, russia, red china and other oppressed peoples never had the wonderful opportunity.   Someday the world will wake up.....   naw....    smile....   sf

  4. A few weeks ago, when I was bored and freezing in Alaska while visiting the "kids," I was shoe shopping on da net.  Bought two pair of sandals - Nine West and VanEli.  Even tho I have too many heels already, I couldn't pass 'em up.  You know.  They arrived last week and I really like them.

Will post pics and comments when I have 5 minutes of free time, been busy lately.  Got caught up after spending time up north.

Yes, in general, not many of the styes this season are to my liking either.  I was just talking about that with another HHPlace member last night.

  5. The wife and I just got back from a quick 3 day trip to Vegas.  We stayed at Caesars and while there got "the works," haircuts and pedicures.  I took three pairs of shoes, all heeled sandals which I wore the entire time.  It was a nice time, in heels for three days, and the two of us looking pulled together with our pedicures and haircuts.  Have fun in your heels.  Smile....   sf

  6. Mlrose....  Well the sandals have not arrived yet, I will decide if they are keepers when they arrive.  I have always liked the thong styles, flat and heeled, and these caught my eye, were a new arrival and on sale so I grabbed them.  I like the ankle wrap, I had another pair of sandals a while back that had an ankle wrap and I really liked them.  The semi see-thru vinyl will be the deciding factor on these shoes.  I like the thin heel, I stayed away from thin kitten heels in the past but now have several pair of similar heels that are easy to walk in - but careful of cracks.

When they arrive I will post an update and pic.  The wife and I are headed to Vegas in a few days, hopefully they will arrive before then.  Were getting pedicures there, would be fun to show off the new pedi with these new sandals...  Smile....  sf

  7. Mr Bluejay....   The sandals are VanEli Morel, pic attached.  Simple, kinda "frumpy" looking, but I like the look and have never had a sandal of that style.  I just hope they fit (size 11) 'cause at that sale price, no returns/exchanges.  But 22 bucks for a sandals that originally sold for $120+, I can take the hit.  If they don't fit, off to the donation pile.

They are still in transit, hopefully they get here soon, the wife and I are headed for Vegas in a few days, would like to try them out there.  Vegas is a fun place to go heeling.

I will post a pic of me wearing them after we get our pedicures in Vegas.  Summer is coming and if you are gonna wear sandals, your feet should look nice.

Thanks for asking, let me know what you think of the shoes.  Smile...   sf

  8. Heel guy....   Ha ha....  I'm with ya on that one.  I just got back from 2 weeks in Alaska.  Knowing there would be ice and snow, and believe me there was, I left the heels and sandals at home.  All I saw were gals and guys in boots and other cold wx shoes, save for one lady who was nicely dressed wearing a simple pair of 2in pumps at a town meeting.  But she was a speaker and changed into the heels upon arrival.  Ice and snow gets very slippery even in best of conditions.

There will be another time.  Have fun....  sf

  9. Late, very late notice, but for you heelers in the United States, Marmi Shoes https://shoerack.marmishoes.com is having a great 2/22/22 sale today, one day only.  All their shoes are on sale for $22.22 which is one heck of a good deal.  Marmi Shoes are very high quality and come in sizes up to 12 and 13.  I have several pair of Marmi shoes and they are wonderful.

I just found out about this sale a few minutes ago and ordered a pair of sandals.  Couldn’t resist the deal.

    Act now before they’re gone!!

Disclaimer, other than being a loyal fan of Marmi, I have nothing to do with the company.  Smile....   sf

  10. Bluejay....  Those sandals look fantastic.  Hope you enjoy getting out in them.  I also like Nine West shoes and sandals, FYI most Nine West styles go to a gals size 12 which is nice.  I just ordered a pair of sandals from Nine West, style “Popi” a thin heeled thong/ankle wrap, should arrive this week.

After seeing  the style you have, I am tempted to get that heel as well, after all, how many heels can a guy have?  Can anyone answer that?  ha ha

Enjoy your new sandals......   smile....   sf

  11. Yes, you will get used to the extra lift.  I keep my heels to the 2 - 3 inch range since I am too tall already at 6 feet, and don’t want to scare the kids - ha ha.

But I do like the look, feel and style of a nice heel.

Hope you enjoy your shoes, I do.  sf

  12. Sadly, crime is rampant in some parts of the United States the past year.  Sorry you were victimized, but the politicians in those particular states / cities could care less.

You were lucky, several friends of mine have been victims of auto burglary the past year (in “those” cities), and lost quite a bit.

Take care, be aware of your surroundings, be safe...   smile....   sf
