  1. I have also been in San Francisco (Union square, Macy's, Nordstrom) in heels - sandals, with absolutely no problems. Have been there both with the wife and alone, at best a few glances but no big deal. In the past 5 years or so of wearing heels two women have made positive comments about my heels but none were in Frisco.... SF

  2. Hi, It does seen strange that a woman would ask such a question. Since women get to wear heels whenever they want, you would think they know what it is like to wear them! And yes all it takes is a little practice. I have never had a woman ask me how I can wear heels, but have had several say they like my sandals!! SF

  3. Too bad you can't find the right size. Sandals are fun to wear! Have been wearing heeled sandals for about 4 years now, every summer I am more confident when wearing my sandals outside. Hardly anyone notices except to make a favorable comment. Thanks for the encouragement Julietta!!! I love the way heeled sandals look and feel. Plus, why should the girls have all the fun!!! SF

  4. All of my heels are sandals!! Here in California the climate is warmer and it is possible to wear sandals more often. I have 6 pairs of heels, thongs, and slides that I wear outside whenever possible. The heels are 2 to 3 inches so not many people notice them that much, and those that do usually have a postitve comment to make. I find it very relaxing to wear sandals and they look nice too!! Better than some of the ugly men's "fashion" sandals. I just wish more guys wore sandals with heels in public, would make things a lot easier for the rest of us!! SF

  5. Been married for 22 years, have worn womens shoes (flats) the whole time, and my spouse has never had any problems with it - we even have some matching shoes! Been wearing heels for about 4 years, she is OK with that too. Have been wearing flats and heels in public, both alone and as a couple. Never get any stares or comments when in flats, but a few (very few) looks when in heels. It doesn't bother either of us. SF

  6. Really liked your sandals, they look cute. I can't/don't do platforms, I am already over 6 ft and a platform would make me too tall (my wife's recomendation - and I think she is right). I have a pair of slides similar to yours that are non-platform with a 2 1/2 inch heel. Look and feel great! SF

  7. I too am a Christian and go to church regularly. I have worn flat womens sandals in church since I can remember with absolutely no problems. I haven't tried my heels in church yet, but some of my churchgoing friends know I do wear heels. Maybe will attend in heels someday!! SF

  8. In addition to Maya's, try both Nordstrom or Macy's (either the stores or web sites). They carry some shoes/sandals in sizes up to 12. And the shoes are more "traditional," not real high heels or fetish, styles that you could comfortably wear in public, I do!! I can wear 2 - 3in heels with no problem, the 5 and 6 inch heels definately attract more attention. And I agree with BobHH, Maya's is a very friendly and accomodating place. SF

  9. Does going out with your wife count as a date? Fortunately, my wife is OK with me wearing heels. We routinely go out to dinner, shopping etc and I wear heels. She usually wears heels too, we even have a few matching pair that we wear together. We enjoy going out in heels. Several times people have noticed our matching shoes and have made positive comments about it. It's fun, try it! SF

  10. All I have ever worn are sandals. Started with flats as a teenager, tried a pair of heels about 3-4 years ago and loved them!! I like the "barefoot" feeling you get from sandals, plus they are comfortable in warm weather! I might someday try boots, but for now I am a sandal guy. Even wear them in public!! Love to see peoples reactions! Adios.... SF

  11. HighBoots, Glad to see you made it out in public. I have been wearing sandals with heels in public for about 3 years now. Like you, I like wearing them and it does make me feel good about myself. At first I was really nervous, and I admit even now, I am still a little nervous about how people will react, but overall most people don't notice at all or make positve comments. Have fun, I do!! SF

  12. Hi, I have been reading this board for a while but this is my first post. It seems that most of the guys here enjoy wearing heeled boots, anyone out there wear heeled sandals in public? I have been wearing heels (mostly thongs) for about four years and have gotten a wide range of reactions. Anyone else wear heeled sandals in public? Have been looking for some guys wearing heels, but so far I am the only one. SF
