  1. Foot Jewelry.   Anklets, toe ring and polished nails, most definitely!  I have been doing all three that past 10 years or so.  Started gradually, liked it, and I now wear color and an anklet all the time, toe ring about half the time.  The wife is also into anklets and toe rings, has been for years, even before toe rings for gals became popular.  We both keep our feet looking good, she calls my feet "girls feet."  ha ha

I don't get too many comments and that fine, it's just something I do.  Usually if someone I see regularly is going to comment, they may mention it the first time they see it and then it never comes up again.

I like the look of anklets and toe rings, it just looks fine to me at least.  My anklet is an 11 inch 3-4 mm wide simple chain, and the toe ring (I have two) is plain, simple gold about 2-3 mm wide.

I was going to post a picture (for proof!) but surprisingly I don't have any pics of me wearing both, well all three (polish, anklet and toe ring) at the same time.  Will fix that and post a pic someday.

So, foot jewelry; most definitely yes, looks attractive and is fun!!  Smile  sf

Hint: Make sure your foot jewelry is solid gold, anything else will tarnish over time.  The cost is a bit more, but tarnished jewelry looks dull and gold lasts forever.

  2. OPI polish is my favorite, lots of colors to choose from and a quality product.  That is the featured polish at the Spa at Caesars in Vegas.   As for foot jewelry, I wear toe rings occasionally and an anklet all the time.  Makes for a nice look.  My wife says that I have "girls feet."  Makes me laugh.

Where I am in SoCal, it's pretty rare to see another guy with painted toes, but it is happening more and more.  The tech's at Caesars Spa say they have quite a few guys getting pedicures and color.  Nice!!

    Have fun....   sf

  3. I was looking at some old pictures and surprisingly I began to paint my toes with color about 10 years ago.  How time flies.  I stared out with very neutral colors on one toe to "test the waters."  Pretty much the only person who commented or seemed to notice was my wife.  We have gotten pedicures together many times but I had always went with a clear coat.  When the colors showed up, she was surprised but accepting.

The past 8 years I have pretty much had some color on my toes all the time.  The wife is OK with it, my daughters roll their eyes and laugh, the grandkids call me "silly," and I have actually gotten a few compliments.  With time it has become the norm that I paint my toes, no big deal.

For colors, I prefer pinks, blues, purples and beige colors.  Never tried red or other really bright colors, well I did once, really did not like the look, way to flashy.  I just want my feet to look nice, the wife call my feet "girls feet."  I wear sandals most all the time - heels and flats - and my mantra is, "If you are going to wear sandals, your feet should look nice!"

Conclusion, if you are hesitant to paint your toes, give it a try, it may work for you.  No one will really care, if they do it won't be an issue after the first time.  That has been my experience.

There is hope, I have seem more guys with painted toes (full disclosure, albeit not many), but never, never  have I seen another guy in heels, so the odds are with us !!

    Have fun.....   sf

  4. Never tried leggings, they just don't look comfortable, but my apparently perception is probably in error.  Plus the wife is not to excited about me wearing leggings.  I used to run a lot, now I just walk (a lot).  I see many folks, guys and gals, in leggings so based on what I see and posts here, there must be something to it, maybe?  Might be fun to try.

Now all I have to do is convince the wife.  Will see.  Have fun in your leggings.    sf

  5. My lower back hurts occasionally as well.  Funny, the more physical labor I do the more it hurts, hmmmm.  Maybe a connection?  Plus it didn't hurt 30 years ago?  Getting old ain't for sissies.

I haven't noticed that wearing heels makes by back hurt less, but wearing heels jump starts my endorphins making me relaxed and happier that I already am, well most of the time.  smile...  Enjoy your heels, for whatever reason you wear them!!  sf

  6. When I saw the Nine West sandals, I was wondering about the uppers and how comfy they would be.  After a lot of wearings, they are just fine.  No fogging up.  The way the upper fits, there is lot of room to "breathe" but at the same time the sandal stays on nicely.  The biggest issue I had was getting the ankle ties to stay secure, it took a few attempts to figure that one out.  Aside from the heel being a bit higher that I prefer, I really do like this sandals, and expect to get a lot of use out of them.

The frumpy comment was a bit "tongue in cheek" as I am sure you knew.  I like them, they are just a nice stable all around classic style sandal that is very comfortable for all day wear.  I am glad I found them too!!

Thanks for axing.  Enjoy your heels....  smile...  sf

  7. The wife and I have had two pedicures in that past two months at the Spa at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.  At the Caesars Spa nail salon they use OPI polish exclusively.  I find that the OPI polish is durable, lasts a long time and has a beautiful luster to it.

Plus the nail techs there do a wonderful job which also accounts for a good looking and long lasting pedicure.  If you are going to wear sandals, your feet should look nice.  smile...   sf

  8. New sandals for spring and summer !!!…..

I saw these sandals last February and had to have them (even tho I did not need them!).

The ankle wrap thong is “Popi” by Nine West, size 11.  The chunky-heeled sandal is Morel by VanEli from Marmi Shoes, size 12.

I like both styles for totally different reasons.

The Popi thong has a unique feminine “edgy” look to it with the semi clear upper and the ankle ties.  The kitten heel is 3 1/4 inches high, the highest heel I own.  All of my other heels are less than 3 inches.  That extra ¼ inch makes a difference too.  I have worn them out almost daily the past two weeks; they are comfy, to a point.  No long walks for these heels, but standing is fine.  They will be good for short errands or going out to dinner, coffee and such.  Nonetheless, I like them – a lot.

The block heeled VanEli Morel sandals are from Marmi Shoes, my favorite shoe store.  They were on a one-day clearance sale for $22.22 on February 22!!  They had sold for $120 dollars, what a deal.  I call them my “frumpy” sandals and the wife agrees.  They aren’t the most stylish sandal I own but they sure are comfortable and versatile.  The heel is a stable 2 ½ inches and the uppers hold my foot securely.  I have worn them for many hours without any problems.  Even tho they be “frumpy” I like ‘em too!

Both are pictured with my Vegas pedicure from the spa at Caesars Palace.  The gals there do a wonderful job on the nails.

Have fun in your heels, I do.  Smile….   sf

  9. A rare sighting!!!   Last week the wife and I met my cousin and her hubby for a few days in Vegas.  While wandering through the Venetian with my cousin, we stopped for a while to talk and "people watch."  As we talked, a guy walked by wearing a pair of strappy white flat gals sandals with a gold stud trim.  She commented that there was a guy wearing women's sandals and said they looked nice.  I agreed.  The guy seemed to be in a hurry, so it was a quick sighting, otherwise I may have attempted to engage him in a conversation.

As an aside, while in Vegas the wife and I got pedicures too.  My cuz like my purple toes and her hubby thought it was "funny." He admired my courage to get a pedicure and said he could never do that, but did not freak out.  I kept the higher heels at home but did wear some 2 in wedgie sandals to dinner several times.  My cuz noticed my shoes but never said anything, she is a big time shoe gal.

It was nice to see another guy in gals sandals, even if it was only flats.

    Smile.....   sf

  10. I have several pair of Gloria Vanderbilt gals jeans that I wear with my heels.  They and comfy, stretchy and a tad bit shorter than guys pants which allows more of the heel to be showing.  Makes for a nice look.  Depending on what I am doing, I much prefer gals jeans to my guys jeans.  Have fun....   sf

  11. For me, 3 in is my max.  I am too tall already, and I don't want to look to gigantic.  If I were shorter, I might try higher heels, but for me a 2 1/2 inch heel looks good on me and I will stay with that.  I just enjoy wearing heels (and occasionally flats), regardless of the height.  Have fun all....  smile...   sf

  12. ha ha.....   Then I must be a moron too!!  I try and post pics and most of the time do not succeed.  I get some sort of an error message that I don't understand.  I am a low tech guy living in a high tech world.  And I love it.  Still have a flip phone, does not even do texts...

And I too try and wear heels every day, it's fun!!!   Smile....   sf

  13. Those are very nice looking stylish sandals.  The square toe looks great, it’s the style right now.  You said the sandals are for around the house, heck, get them outside and show them off!  Those sandals are to classy to be kept inside.

    Have fun.....   smile.....   sf

  14. It has been mentioned elsewhere, but I have been attracted to gals shoes since I was a kid.  When I became a teen and got out more, I would go shoe shopping at local stores on my bike.  I was growing and my feet were smaller.  I could fit a gals 9 or 10 shoe but as I grew sizing became more difficult.  Both my folks were tall and my dad had at least a size 13 or 14 foot.  I hoped (and prayed) that my foot would not get larger since I really liked wearing gals shoes.  When I finally stopped growing (I am about 6ft 2in), my prayers were answered and my foot stayed at a gals 11 or 12.  Back in the 70's, those sizes were hard to find, especially for "normal," non "striper" looking heels.  As us older folks know, over the years women's shoe sizes have gotten larger, and maybe due to a demand from some guys, the availability of larger sizes is frequent.  I just thank the fact that I am a women's 11 or 12 and can get nice looking, stylish gals shoes in my size !!  Makes me very happy.    Enjoy your heels.  Smile...  sf
