  1. I believe that Fredricks carried the Springolator slide sandals.  I liked the "Springolator" slide sandal look.  I never had a pair but the wife had a few in the crazy 70's and 80's.  They looked very nice.

My junior high English teacher in 1969 wore Springolator slides all the time.  I still remember her name but won't publish it here.  Was a fun distraction at school as well.  I never skipped that class and actually got good grades too.  Smile..   sf

It seems like societal pressures did a number on many of us.

Ha Ha....   Don't ya know?  I have been fond of gals shoes for as long as I can remember.  As a kid and teen I "snuck" around wearing gals shoes and like you Pebble my folks knew, did not make a big deal of it but the "societal pressures" were there nonetheless.  I had the "little voices" too.  The good thing, as I grew older and became more independent / confident, the voices changed to confidence and compassion.

The few times I have met other fem shoe wearing guys, we have had similar experiences, which to me is amazing.   Funny how us humans are "wired."

    Have fun....   sf

  3. The wife and I were in Las Vegas last month and got pedicures at the Caesars Spa.  Was nice.  The techs there do a great job, we both got matching color, OPI "Show Us Your Tips" blue/purple.  My (our) feet look nice, and no one has ever said anything about me having a pedicure with color.

I have always thought, if you are going to wear sandals (guys or gals) in public, your feet should look nice.....   Have fun...  sf

Never had a mani, with what I do outside daily, it would never last.  Maybe some day.  Smile....  sf

  5. For me, I do and wear what I like.  That does not mean I exclude others, I am an inclusive type of guy, but I enjoy my life.  My wardrobe is not really "feminized" but I have many pairs of gals flats and sandals, and I also wear gals pants regularly (mostly Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda pants), since they fit nicely.  To me they look somewhat unisex but the wife can spot them the minute I put them on, she says that I am wearing my "Glorias," funny gal.  I also like bright colored clothing, shirts, t-shirts and even pants and jackets.  Bright(er) colors can be difficult to find, especially in the mens section.  Most are drab, non imaginative darker colors, yuck.

OK, so maybe my wardrobe is a bit feminized, so what?  I like it, it makes living this short life fun....   sf

Some of my shirts, in the correct ROYGBIV order even...

  6. I have probably written about this in the past, but it has been while...   My first public heeling adventure was waayyy back in 1995, ancient history.  I had always been a flat gals sandal guy, and one day I was shoe shopping and found a pair of slip on kitten heel thong sandals.  I had not thought much about heels, but these sandals looked nice, so I tried them on and liked what I saw.  I purchased the shoes and showed them to my wife.  She was OK with the shoes but asked what I was going to do with them.  I told her that I was going to wear them, and she asked, outside?  I had always intended that I would try wearing the heels outside, and told the wife "yes."  Heck, I paid a fair price for the shoes, liked the look, and it made no sense to wear them at home, after all what's the big deal.

The first time I wore them in public I was nerve wracked, but nothing really happened.  I thought that every person was staring at me, not the case.  Mostly I was ignored.  Since 1995, I have worn heels regularly all over the United States.  Never have I gotten a negative reaction, well a few stares and giggles, but nothing overt.  On the other hand, I have gotten many compliments from both guys and gals on my heeled sandals.  But 99% of the time, no one notices or seems to care and that's fine with me.  I just want to be able to wear nice looking gals heels, it make me feel good and I enjoy it.

For all you folks here that are hesitant or new to heeling in public, just give it a try, you may like it, you may not, nothing ventured, nothing gained...  Good luck and have fun....   sf

  7. 99.9% of the Crocs are ugly shoes.  Having said that, I do have a pair of the Crocs "Sexy Flip" thong style sandal.  No heel, but very comfy, and that style does look, to me at least, nice.  The rest of the Crocs line, not so much, but I am told that the other styles are comfortable.  Who knows....   sf
