Love your last sentence, how true, how true.....   I have suffered the wrath of “tolerance” many times.....  Rather sad...

  2. I do regular business with a local company and when there frequently see the same lady.  The past few months I have worn heels when there.  Last month, the lady commented on my shoes, saying that she liked them (see the above post).  A few days ago, I again went to the business in heels and we had a friendly conversation but she never mentioned my heels, why would she.  As we spoke she mentioned that she was an free lance part time abstract painter. Painting fascinates me, since I have no creative imagination.  Towards the end of our conversation, the painter lady said, "may I ask you a question?"  I said sure.  She asked if she could take my picture, since she wants to "paint" me.  I asked why, and she pointed the my sandals and said "that's why, those shoes would make a wonderful painting.

She took my pic, we laughed and I went on my way.  Will be interesting to see what she does with her creative skills.  Enjoy your heels...  sf

  3. I have noticed over the years that gals seem to notice and/or comment about my gals shoes more than guys.  And the gals almost always seem to like (accept) that I am wearing a woman's shoe.  Guys on the other hand, don't seem to notice and when they do are less likely to comment and if they do they seem perplexed as to why a guy would wear gals shoes.  But guys that I frequently see and know I wear gals shoes are accepting, they may not "get it" but at least are accepting.  Of course there are exceptions, I just don't worry about it anymore.

    Have fun....  sf

  4. This has been hashed over before at this site, but I have been fond of gals shoes for as long as I can remember.  I met my beautiful wife in 1978 and we were married 3 years later.  When we met I was actively wearing gals flat sandals all the time and made no attempt to "hide" that fact from her.  Surprisingly, she never made any comments initially, but after a few dates she did ask why the shoes.  I told her that I liked them, and that some pair have a unisex look as well.  I eventually bought her a few pair of matching or similar style sandals that we wore together, and our fiends thought it was, er "cute."

It was not until about 12 years into the marriage I caught the high heel bug (after a business trip to Argentina where there were lots of heels and I was traveling with two gals who loved shoes - that did not help), and purchased my first pair of heels when I got back home.  When I showed the wife my heels she was surprised but accepting, as long as I kept the heel height to 3 inches or less, which was fine with me, I don't really like higher heels anyway.

Take away.  I am very glad that I made my thoughts and feelings about gals shoes early on (before marriage) in the relationship.  Today we joke often about my fondness for gals shoes and sandals and I tell her that she made the wrong decision when she chose me, a guy who wears gals shoes.  She usually smiles and tells me that she loves me the way I am.  Then we put on some nice heels and go out to dinner.  Nice.  Have fun all, enjoy your heels.   sf

And, to the original point of this thread, I have never been stopped by the police because I was wearing heels.  Wearing heels is not a crime, at least not in the United States. Unfortunately it may be in other countries.

Personally for me, I have to worry about the "fashion police" as I call my wife and two daughters.  Busted......

  5. As a kid, I got "caught," twice.  I was probably 13 - 14 years old.  As long as I can remember I have been fond of gals shoes.  I saved up my paper route money and bought a pair of cheap gals sandals that I saw at a local drug store chain (Thrifty's for us older folks).  Fearing rejection or ridicule I hid the sandals and wore them in secret.  One morning when folding papers for my paper route, my mom appeared unexpectedly, and I was wearing my gals sandals.  We both were shocked.  Surprisingly she did not over react, but said that I should probably wear sturdier shoes when I leave for my route.  I did.

Later she asked me why I was wearing the shoes, and other than I liking them, I had no answer.  A few days later she took me to my pediatrician for a visit.  The doctor asked me about the sandals blah, blah, blah.  Again, other that just liking the shoes I had no answer.  The whole experience was nerve wracking.

Conclusion, I kept the sandals (mom never threw them away), and the subject never really came up again, I still wore gals sandals when the folks were not around, and as I aged and left home for school, I pretty much became a full time gals flat wearer and loved it.  Into my teens and beyond, I wore flat gals sandals around the family, mom, dad etc. and nothing was ever said.  A few years later I "discovered" heels, and never regretted it.

As I have said before, I have no idea why I like gals shoes, it is the way I am, and I really like it....  Take care all, enjoy your flats and heels....   sf

  6. That's wonderful!!  Wearing heels to work, when appropriate, is a great thing.  If the gals can do it, why not you (us)?  My previous jobs did not allow heels or sandals for safety reasons, but I have been considering a part time retirement job where I can wear heels at work.  I think it would be fun.  Enjoy wearing your heels.  sf

  7. I get "accused" by my wife of mixing styles too often.  I'm not the "fashion plate' that she is, but I think I look nice when I go out.  Heels with denim pants or slacks and a nice looking collared shirt, nail polish and groomed hair.  I think I look fine, even tho some "style mixing" may be happening...

Have fun......  With YOUR style....   sf

Well, how many pairs of shoes does she have?

Now that question is totally irrelevant and out of order....   ha ha ha.....   When I axed her that question there almost was an "incident."

Will try and get an answer, someday......   Take care....    sf

  9. Planning depends of the wife's mood (she's the gambler), since we only live 3 1/2 hours away.  Some tips are planned, some are spontaneous.  The Diva Vegas thing sounds interesting but won't make it this year, have other plans that weekend.  But thanks for the idea...

I been to that Hofbrauhaus, nice place, good German food.....

    Have fun....   sf

  10. My wife tells me that I have too many heels and need to get rid of a few.  She's right, but they all are very functional and I like them.  For that reason I have compromised, for the past few years I have not purchased and new heels, until this summer.  I splurged and bought myself a pair of Tieks flats, and a pair of chunky heeled sandals.  Now I guess I have to get rid a a few pair of old shoes?  Naww..  ha ha...

    Have fun....  sf

  11. I had a job that required wearing of boots.  After 30+ years of boot wearing (only during work time - ha ha) I developed a "bump" on the back of one heel.  The physical therapist did call it a "pump bump" and asked jokingly if I wore high heels, since a lot of gals have that condition.

Now retied for 10+ years, no more boots, and the "pump bump" is gone, I don't wear pumps, I prefer sandals.  Have fun all....   sf

  12. I have always been attracted to gals shoes for as long as I can remember.  Why?  Who knows?  I have always found gals shoes and sandals to look nice and "prettier" (can a guy like pretty shoes for himself?) than boring guys shoes.  As I got older and more independent (teen years) I got bold and actually bought some gals flats that I wore discreetly.  When I went away to school, I began to wear gals sandals - flats - a lot, and no one cared.

In 1995 I was shoe shopping and saw a pair of 2 inch kitten heel thong slip on sandals that I tried on, liked what I saw and bought the shoes.  I was hooked from that point on, unfortunately - ha ha.  When I showed my new sandals to my wife, she thought I was nuts, but eventually came to accept my fondness for heeled sandals.

Now here I am many years later, still wearing gals flats and sandals and enjoying life.  Have fun all.....   sf

  13. "keep your personal and work life separate"....

Excellent advice...  Can save you a lot of future headaches....  I was told that as a "kid" and passed that wisdom onto my children....   So far so good...

  14. I do like dealing with Zappos.  I have many shoes from them.  Great customer service and selection.  I wear a size 11 or 12 in gals sandals and Zappos has a great selection of shoes and styles in the larger sizes.  Some nice looking styles even go larger.  They use to have a clearance warehouse / outlet in Las Vegas (that's where the company is based) that was fun to shop at.  Was a mandatory stop when visiting Vegas.  The staff were very kind and knowledgable.  But that closed a few years ago.  Have fun...   sf

  15. Well, well....  I hate to assume - you know what that means - but assuming your comment was made in jest, I will put it right back to you.  Possibly you need to bring more money to the eye doctor for a revised eyeglass prescription.  You are looking at a 7 day old, expensive (overpriced???) pedicure from the spa at Caesars Palace in Vegas, baby.  The wife and I were there last week.  Same gal been doing our pedicures there for several years.  If you are going to wear sandals, your feet should look nice.  I think she did a fine job on all of our toes.  ha ha    Smile..  Have fun...   sf

  16. End of summer sandals....  I have not gotten any heels in a while (how many can a guy have?), I saw these at Target in the early summer, resisted but temptation prevailed.  They are "A New Day," Ramona Size 12 and they fit perfectly.  The sandals have a 2 1/2 inch heel and I like the toe ring and the strappy look.  They were comfy right out of the box so I took a chance and wore them for most part of the day, something I do not normally do with new shoes / sandals.  They are all manmade material, I would rather they have some natural leather.  Will be fun to wear into the fall and winter.

  17. It's a bit after the fact, but the wife and I were in Vegas for 3 days last week, stayed at Caesar's Palace.  Aside from the airplane ride, I wore heels the entire time.  Had fun, Vegas is a good place to wear heels.  sf

Walking in heels alone isn’t so difficult. Only the first steps ,or more exactly take the decision to have those first steps, deeps some courage. The more you delay ,the more difficult it is.

Then you have to be in your own wold. Bubble. No need to know if anyone is watching you .Go your own way.

One regret: not easy to find a heel buddy from time to time. That would be funnier and easier. Then ,instead of having ppl wondering if you are gay, they will be sure you are. And if you are not,is it such a big deal? No matter what they think.

Spent most of my day today in heels.  The doctor, shopping, errands, and some quiet time at my fav coffee joint reading a book with others around.  No big deal.  If others around me thought I was homosexual, I care not, that will be their problem.  Being gay is not a requirement to wear high heels, at least not in my world.  Like Pierre said, "go your own way."

And, wearing heels with another guy (or gal for that matter) is fun.  I have done it a few time with others from this site even.  It's fun to get together with like minded folks and "compare notes."

    Have fun all...   smile....   sf

Back to A shaped heels.  that shape was quite common in the mid to late 60's when my zest for heels really kicked in.  some would also show a bit of toe cleavage which i also took a liking to.  thanks for sharing the photos and sparking my memories!

    Thank you....

And now for something completely different...

Enjoy your heels, I will....   sf

  20. I have worn gals shoes (flat sandals) since I was a teen in high school, a long time ago.  I started wearing heels in 1995.  I have only once seen a guy in heels, that was several years ago, he was a stylist in a beauty salon.

I get out a lot and live in the most populated state in the United States.  Pioneers take the arrows, it is a "lonely" life -- ha ha.

I enjoy wearing heels and when folks notice, both guys and gals (mostly gals), I do get an occasional compliment.  And when shoe shopping, I have been told that quite a few guys do shop for / try on / purchase heels, but weather they wear in public is an entirely different story.  I guess it they keep it inside, a shame....

Either way, enjoy your heels, have fun....   sf
