  1. Well it is summer and summer means sandals!! I love thiss site but too bad it caters mostly to BOOTS... I have regularly worn girls hh sandals in public (size 11) for quite some time. I don't do nail polish in colors but do wear a clear coat. Try it, it's FUN.... SF

  2. KrisS... I really like the picture of the thongs that you posted. I have a similar pair (no buckle) that I also wear in public. I saw your style at a TJ Max store a while back but alas, they did not have my size. Since I do not wear boots - I'm a sandal guy - I thought your comment about being noticed interesting. When I wear my thongs in public, I do get a few reactions but not many. Overall it is not that big of a deal. Take care.... sf

  3. Hi again... Yes wearing hh sandals in public is a bit more "risky." Boots - depending on the style - can appear to be somewhat unisex. But don't get me wrong, boots are OK, but just not for me. I like sandals, they feel comfortable and I enjoy being barefoot. I have worn girls shoes (flats) since a teen - see my other posts - and have never really had a problem. I have worn heels for about ten years, people do notice the heels more than flats but still, aside from a few stares and giggles, no big deal. I wear my hh thongs with cotton cargo pants and a nice casual shirt. And occasionally a plain simple toe ring. The look seems to be OK. Take care... sf

  4. Hi... Yes I too like thong sandals. I have several pairs of thong sandal heels that I wear frequently. Two pairs are "slides" and at least 5 other pair are slingbacks. I really like the "thong" styles, they look nice and are comfortable. I like the sandal and thong styles, not much into boots. Boots do seem to garner the most popularity here. Try Zappos shoes, they have a lot of different styles in the larger sizes. What is a UK 12 equal to in US sizes? Take care... sf

  5. I flew SJC - DFW last October and wore a pair of 2 1/2 inch slides. No problem, just took the sandals off at the check point and when they came out of the x-ray machine put 'em back on and went to the gate. Simple, no comments, no problem..... sf

  6. Anyone here from the central California area? I live in the San Jose area and have NEVER seen another guy around in heels. Am I the only heel wearer out here? Maybe - if there are any guys in heels out here - we can communicate and organize a heel meet somewhere? With the spring coming, that would be fun.... Bring the wives and girlfriends too ??..... sf

  7. HappyFeat... Yes this is a very nice site. I have been here off and on for about 6 years. Like you, I have liked womens shoes since a kid, but was too scared to wear them around my parents. When I went away to college in my teens, I began to openly wear girls shoes - flats - almost all the time. To my surpirse no one ever said anything. About 10 years ago, I was shoe shopping and saw a pair of thongs with a 2 inch heel. I tried them on and was hooked. I now have about 20 pairs of heels - mostly sandals - and I wear them out in public whenever possible, when appropriate. A few of my friends even know that I like heels. I am happily married with two kids, and the wife is OK with my passion. So rest assured, you are not the only guy out there who likes hh shoes. I do wish there were more guys who wore heels in public, it would take the "heat" off those of us who do !! ha ha Take care... Welcome... sf

  8. Welcome... You are lucky that your female pal is OK with you in heels. I too am lucky that way, but a lot of guys have wives / girlfriends that can't accept their men in heels. Too bad.. I have been wearing heels in public for about 10 years - have worn girls shoes all my teen and adult life. Love it, it's fun !! Take care... sf

  9. Johnieheel, I have worn heels to church as well. I have worn thongs with a 1 1/2 in heel, and some leather slide wedgies that have a 2 1/2 inch heel. Both are sort of "unisex" looking, but how unisex can 2 1/2 in heels be? ha ha Nobody ever has said anything... I do have some more fem sandals that I regularly were outside, but not to church... sf

  10. It's good to be "out and about." I have been wearing heels outside for about 7 years. I was a bit hesitant and nervous at first (sometimes I still am) but I get more confident with time. I wear hh sandals (no boots), and prefer the thong styles, but also have wedgies, espadrilles and woven styles. My heels are less that 3 inches, that makes me less obvious I guess. I get some stares, and a few laughs, but never has anyone been "confrontational." Fortunately I have a wife that is OK with the whole thing as well - even a few of my friends know too. That makes things a bit easier. My two cents.... SF

  11. It's good to get outside. I have been wearing hh sandals (2 to 3 inch heels) out in public for the past 6 years. In was a bit hesitant at first, but with time - and circumstance - it get easier (and more fun) each time. Most of my sandals are thong styles with a few non-thong styles as well. Take care... sf

  12. Wow... My first post regarding this topic was 2 years ago last June... Since that time I have been wearing heels in public more and more not only while out of town on vacation, but locally in my home town, with and without my wife. Yesterday and today the wife was busy, so I went out runnig errands and just shopping around in a pair of black slides with a 2 1/2 inch blade heel that I got at Payless (wife also has a matching pair). Went to the bank, bookstore, clothing store, market, post offfice, gas station, all in heels. Must have run across 100+ people and as far as I can tell only one person even noticed. At one of the clothing stores (there were 4 or 5 female clerks) no one seemed to notice me but when I left, one of the clerks left right behind me to "adjust" one of the displays they had outside. As I walked away, I looked back, she was looking at me smiling. I smiled back and continued on my way. At the market, the store was very open (no place to hide) and several folks - male and female - did notice my shoes but when they looked they did not react at all. There were two gals in their late 20's shopping together, one was wearing a cute pair of heels. I walked past them several times and they did not even notice. Another older gal about my age (mid 40's) was aslo shopping in a pair of heels almost exactly like mine, I had occasion to walk past her a few times as well, and she did not seem to notice - or care - either. Guys, get out there and do it..... It's FUN !!!! SF

  13. From time to time I will see a gal wearing a pair of cute sandals that I would like to get for my wife - or myself. Many times I have wanted to ask the woman where she got her shoes but have been to "shy" to ask. Is asking a stranger where she got her shoes something that would be out of line ?? Or too personal ?? I would like to hear from the gals out there what you think... Thanks... SF

  14. My wife and I frequently shop for shoes together. It is fun, we both enjoy it. We also have many pairs of matching sandals - flats and heels - that we wear togerther and separately. Several times over the years people have commented on or matching shoes. People say that we look cute together or just comment that our shoes are "cute." Last month we were out shopping in matching Steve Madden wedgies. The female clerk at the store noiced our sandals and just went wild. She called the other clerks - mostly gals - to come look at our shoes, and said she thought we looked very nice together... It was a fun and positive experience... SF

  15. Highheel47, It's good to know you want to get out in heels. I wish more guys did. I think the best way to "tell" others is to just get out there in the shoes. I have been wearing girls sandals - flats - since I was in my teens - mid 40's now... NEVER has anyone questioned or commented about why I was wearing girls shoes. And I have worn them everywhere, school, job, church, with family etc.... About 6 years ago I beagn to experiment with heels, wearing them in public. I wear sandals with a 2 - 3 inch heel with long pants and really have not had any problems. Very few people smile or laugh among themselves but that never has been a problem. Guys don't seem to notice shoes, mostly it is the gals who notice. A few have even complimented me on my heels!! Also, what you wear would make a big difference in how folks react. If you wear red plats with a 6 inch heel and shorts I would imagine you would draw more reaction than wearing long pants and a sandal with a 2 inch block heel !!! With the heels tho I do find that I am a bit more careful where I go. When out of town I wear them freely, when in my hometown I still wear the heels but am a bit more careful about where and when - but I am getting a lot more bolder as time goes by and I get more comfortable. Many of my friends and in-laws know I wear heels (my mother in law said they look nice - father in law asked if I was a TV - I'm not), I am just not sure about running across folks that I work with. If you want to tell anyone, maybe let your wife or gf know about your desire to wear heels. I told my wife before we were married - when I was still wearing flats - and she is OK with it. The heels too!! Good luck in your heel adventures!!! SF

  16. Hopelessly heterosexual, married with two daughters - and I LOVE womens shoes (sandals). I beagn wearing womens shoes (flats) when I was 15 or 16 - hid it from my parents. Went away to college and began to wear the flats all the time. About 7 years ago I bought a pair of hh thongs and went public in heels. Now I have about 30 pairs of flats and 15 pairs of heels. My wife is OK with my heels but has asked me if I am concerned if others think I am gay. My response, who cares? I like the look and feel of womens shoes, both flats and heels. Mens shoes are generally ugly and just don't suit my style. I just wish more guys wore heels in public. My two cents.... SF

  17. Loveheel, Referring to your original post. Glad to know there is another guy out there who wears hh Sandals in public. I live in the SF bay area and have been to Frisco and the Monterey Bay area many times in hh Sandals. For the most part, nobody notices, and those that do don't seem to mind (especially in SF). I have been wearing heels for many years now, and can wear them with just as much class and finness (sp) as the gals can. Maybe that's why nobody seems to care (or notice). The wife even says that I do well in heels. Wearng heels in public was a bit "scary" at first, but once used to it, it is a great confidence booster. I just wish more guys wore in public... See ya... SF

  18. Out In Heels Again..... Last Satruday the wife and I went to Pacific Grove. We spent the late afternoon and early evening there, had dinner then went to the wharf in Monterey. She wore some sexy top loop slides, and I wore pair of Steve Madden wedgies (Drill was the style - for you purists!!). While walking around PG, shopping at the wharf and while at the restaurant, no one ever seemed to notice our (my) heels. Last Monday, the wife was working and I went out solo to run errands in my hh thong slingbacks from Newport News. Went to the bank, a Hallmark store, the Post Office, all without any problems or comment. At the bank, a female clerk was on the phone as I walked by her - twice - she looked at my sandals, and gave me a big smile. I took her smile as a sign of encouragement rather that laughing at me. I felt that had she not been on the phone, she would have given me a compliment on my shoes. All you timid guys out there, it's summertime, get out in your heels, it ain't that bad !!! Plus it's FUN!!!! SF

  19. UPDATE -- WE"RE BACK..... Well we got back from Palm Springs on Saturday. We had a great time. Wore hh sandals the entire time except when around the pool. Wore heels to dinner and shopping both day and night. Never had a problem and nobody even seemed to care or notice. I took 4 pairs of heels, strappy thongs with a 2 1/2 inch block heel, slingback thongs with a 3 in blade heel, a pair of slides with a 2 inch square heel, and a pair of wedgie espadrilles. The wife wore her heels, some of them matched mine, and we had a great time. We spent a lot of time walking around the downtown area shopping. Bottom line, it's time for more of you guys to get out in heels. It really is not that big of a deal. This was the second time I have been so bold while on vacation (the first time was last October). I was a bit nervous at first but that went away quickly once I realized that it was no big deal to anyone. Can't wait to do it again !!!! SF

  20. Hi Guys, Well... I won't be wearing a bra, and my wife won't be wearing a jockstrap!! ha ha We leave on Sunday and I will be taking about 5 pairs of hh sandals to wear. All have 2 - 3 inch heels (none as high as your stilleto's BobHH - but I do like those). I go as a guy, wearing loose denim or cargo style pants with loose cotton shirt. Can't wait, I hope the weather is nice !! SF
