  1. I love Zappos and have bought quite a few pairs of hh sandals from them. I always write a review, and indicate that I am male by my name and the fact that I purchased a larger size 11 (Zappos is great for carrying the larger sizes!!). Unfortunately, about half of the posts never get posted, and some of the ones that do are edited to remove any evidence that I am a male who bought a womens shoe. But, some reviews do make it in entirety. I guess it just depends on who is reviewing the "reviews" before final posting. I have asked Zappos about this and just get a boilerplate answer. But what the heck, still love Zappos and will keep buying their shoes !!!! SF

  2. I regularly wear heels to church (and everywhere else!!) as well. The heels are usually sandals: thongs, slides and wedgies - clogs in the winter - with 2 to 2 1/2 inch heels. Never had a problem. No one has ever made a comment or seemed to notice. My wife is generally OK with it too... Merry Christmas to all !!! SF

  3. As with most folks here, I am not sure why I enjoy wearing womens shoes. I have had a desire to wear girls shoes since I was a small child. I just liked the way they looked. Back then I wore flats - mostly sandals - when I was a teen and away at college. No one ever made comment that I wore girls shoes. Heels did not interest me until 1996 when I was shoe shopping and saw a pair of hh thongs in my size. Just for the heck of it I tried them on, liked the way they looked and felt - I was hooked!!! When I brought them home, my wife thought I was nuts!! At first I was discrete where I wore high heels (and at times still am), but with time I have become bolder and wear heels out quite often. I now have about 15 pair of heels - all sandals - plus my flats. Occasionlly someone will notice, but for the most part, no one notices or seems to care. As for the wife, she is generally OK with me in heels (depends of the style). She's a good gal.... SF

  4. Radiodave... Deal, you "carry the water" out there in Ohio, and I will do the same here in CA (at least untill some other guy(s) want to help !!!). ha ha... Take care, SF P.S. I like the wedges, I have a very similar pair that I wear out quite often.

  5. Hey Radiodave... I like your stories. Too bad you don't live out in California, where I seem to be the only guy out here wearing hh sandals in public. I have quite a collection of sandals as well, many are very similar to the ones you have. I have thongs, toe loops, wedges, t-straps, chunky heels, kitten heels etc. Most of the heels are 2 to 3 inches and I wear out in public all the time. And like you, most folks don't seen to notice, and to the ones who do, it is a curiosity or non event. If I was more high tech, I would post pictures. Guys, get out there in your heels, especially in CA !!! SF

  6. Hi.... I call them "thong slides" but what the heck. I exclusively wear hh sandals, and most of my shoes are thongs, slides and styles with a back strap. I prefer heels in the 2 inch range, but have a few pair that are 3 inches. I wear the hh thongs in public all the time, I love summer. Interestingly, most folks don't notice, and those that do look but hardly ever make a comment. I think the thong styling is very attractive. Some thong styles can be uncomfortable after a while, but then so can "regular" strappy sandals!! Good to know there are other hh sandal wearers out there. !!!!

  7. My wife and I go to Vegas at least twice a year and I wear heels (sandals) all the time. It has never been an issue, once at the Flamingo while walking past a couple I heard that male say, "what the heck, we're in Vegas." I assumed he was referring to my shoes??? As for what to do, in Vegas the sky (and checkbook) is the limit. It is am interesting town to say the least... sf

  8. Yes they are very nice shoes, well made and comfy. I am looking at the Maverick and Matrix styles for flats and the Chamois for a heeled sandal. What styles do you have?? I wore my old Bernardos all over until they simply wore out.... SF

  9. Remember the Bernardo Sandals from the 60's and 70's? The company made really neat flat and heeled sandals in larger sizes. I had a few pair way back then and really miss the style and comfort the sandals offered. They went out of business in the 70's or 80's but are now back!! They are making a lot of the old style sandals, both flat and heeled, with sizes up to 12 and 13. With the summer coming, I plan on getting a few pair. The website is Bernardo.com, I think. Or just search on Bernardo Sandals. Take care all... SF

  10. Verngentleheels..... Was the guy you saw at Valley Fair wearing hh sandals? If so, it may have been me. I shop there quite often. The Nordstrom store is friendly to guys who shop for girls shoes, plus they have the larger sizes. Only worn heels to SFO once. Where is SMF?? Maybe you, Wobble and I should meet someday??? Take care.... sf

  11. Hi Wobble.... Finally another guy in my area who wears heels! I thought I was the only one. It's lonely out here. I have many pairs of heels - all sandals, and routinely wear in public. I live in the SJ area too. Never seen another guy in heels. If I see one around, maybe it will be you ??? Take care... SF

  12. Last week my wife and I spent 3 days in Vegas. While there I only wore high heeled sandals. I brought three pairs of shoes (two pair of thongs and one pair of slides) with heels from 2 to 3 inches. Only once did anyone seem to notice or care. While walking from one casino to another, we passed a couple in their 30's and I heard the male say, "we must be in Vegas." I assume he was refering to my shoes but I am not really sure. Bottom line, I had no problems and it was FUN !!! Try it..... SF

  13. Well, I am 6 foot 3 inches tall, and I have no desire to make a spectacle of myself, but at the same time I LOVE to wear heels!! I wear 2 inch heels mostly, and sometimes 3 inch if the style is really cute. Those heel heights are fine with me, and I don't get too gigantic!! Take care... SF

  14. Greetings.... Like you, I have worn girls shoes since a teen. I wear flats in public and never had a problem. About 10 yeras ago, I started wearing hh sandals and suprisingly had no real problems with that either. It just depends what you wear (red stripper plats would probably get a reaction!!), and where you go. I keep the heel height to 2 to 3 inches max and wear dressy or casual heels. Welcome and have fun....!!!! sf

  15. Hi, Anyone out there (in the US) ever heard of Marmi Shoes? I just discovered them. They have many stores all over the US - they even have a web site for mail order. They carry womens shoes from small sizes to larger (up to 13 in some styles) sizes. The business caters to women, but I have been in 2 different stores looking for a particular shoe, and was treated exceptionally by the staff. In both stores I tried on several styles of sandals without any difficulty whatsoever. The staff was friendly and professional, which made the experience nice since this was the first time I had tried on womens shoes in a "full service" shoe store. By the way, I bought a pair of Vaneli "Merlion" sandals, very stylish looking, I can't wait to go out in them. If you are looking for larger sizes with excepitonal service, I recommend Marmi shoes. Take care... SF....

  16. KrisS, Hi... I have seveal pair of slingback thongs that I routinely wear in public as well. Over the years I have gotten a few comments and compliments from gals about the shoes. It is a nice feeling. I just wish more guys wore heels in public... SF

  17. Aerosoles size 11's fit me just fine. I haven't tried any Nine West shoes tho. The gals at the Aerosoles store are very friendly and seem to have no problem with a guy trying on shoes in the stores. I have done it several times, and each time it was a plesant experience. Stan ......

  18. Hi all.... Well summer is here and I do not see many posts about hh sandal wearing. Am I the only guy out here wears hh sandals in public? Even out here in Californa (near Frisco), I have yet to see another guy in heels, let alone hh sandals !! What's going on?? I have been wearing girls shoes all my life and been wearing heels in public for about the past 12 years. Really no problem at all for those who may be hesitant to go in public. Just curious, where are all the hh sandal wearers??? Again, love this site.... SF
