  1. Here are some pictures of the Alexander Wang Constance booties. The instep is leaned a bit forward and gives a strange feeling. Heel height is 15cm (6") and the platform 3cm (1.25") so you get 12cm (4.8") difference and the instep is really steep. I would say the feeling is more extreme than in the CL Pigalle 120 (13.9cm) or Brian Atwood Nico 120 (13.1cm). Not very easy to walk -at least for me-. They fit well... I'm a 11.5 in the Brannock device and these are 41 so, quite true to size.

  2. That's a difficult situation, Toby. I talked about it with my girlfriend -now wife for 22 years- before married. I would love to have your situation! It would be much cheaper, and there would be no explanations or closed chests at home. She likes heels, and she likes shoes; but she wont push over 9cm (3.5") as we have 4cm difference in hight and she doesn't like being taller than me. I've tried her shoes many times but they don't fit adequately so they can get stretched and will be no use afterwards. Any way: I think you should address the situation before you get a big snow ball going down the hill. The only thing that can build long term relationships is communication. Talk about it: you have nothing loose and a lot to gain. Cheers

  3. Not to mention, also, cracks in the pavement or metal gratings where the heel can get inside and brake. Specially at night when things are not very clear and you can twist an ankle easily. I'm aware of the rest of the concerns, which are basically nested in my own fear or insecurity. I must say Dr. Shoe has a good point when he says you should go to very populated places when street heeling: nobody notices because, usually, people are in there own stuff. I wouldn't mind some attention. I dislike the yelling or shouting of somebody who saw what he considered a misfit in his own standards. Nobody points out an earring on a guy, or long hair, or tight trousers. So... why should some start beating the drums at a guy in heels? I don't like it because its rude. It has nothing to do with heels.

  4. You can put a padding in the instep and it will make them somewhat smaller. That's what I've seen my wife do and some of the sales persons that have assisted her when she has that type of problem.

Any way, 3/4 (1.9cm) of an inch is more than 2.8 Paris points, almost 3 sizes larger. If you use the Brannock scale you'll find it's 2 1/2 sizes larger!

I would return them, or just go back to the store and try the correct size.

  5. You've had quite a nice experience, Alsheels!:irked:

Yesterday I was caught again by one of my employees. If he hadn't addressed me I wouldn't have realized he was there so he might have caught full display of my 6.5cm (2.5") heels through all the pathway as my trousers were not covering the heel. We chatted a while over some of the jobs he has to do, and I went back inside the house.

I think he saw them very clearly as he wasn't to close not to get full view of my outfit. Any way, he made no comment. As I'm his boss, maybe he will never make one; so I'll never know what he thinks.

I'm a public figure for the community where I work right now -we, me and my wife, are the only landlords who is accepted as an active part of the community-, so I try to pay some attention to certain 'male' or 'expected' behaviors.

My country is a bit chauvinistic and old fashioned in some ways -specially in the country side-; and prejudice are on both sides here. I hope I can overcome mine so I can be more confident when I go out in places like these one.

  6. You are right, Happyinheels. The chance of buying on-line and getting fakes are enormous. But, as some of us live overseas, the on-line stores become the right place buy. Eventually, some renowned B&M companies have sites but don't deliver outside their home country.

I've had good experiences with a couple of sites, and I certainly second your comment:

"Premium prices apparently demand premium condition otherwise it gets discounted."

If I pay $600 or $1000 a pair I want both shoes in mint condition.

  7. Sorry Joker, but actually I did. They are:

Alexander Wang Constance felt ankle boots.

I haven't taken pictures so I posted the link were I bougt them. If you follow the link bellow you'll find the pics.

I'm not fond of platforms, nor very chunky heels; but when I saw the Alexander Wang collection -Constance, Alana, Anabela, etc.- last year I said to me: I need those booties badly. The only drawback was the price. So I waited and I found them cheaper than our local knock offs at Prüne.

Today I collected these at the local DHL office:

    I will post some pictures.

  8. Dah! That is sad to hear...I first saw the Decoltissimo 100 last February at Neiman Marcus. Aside from the classic line of the pump, the look of it in a navy patent was gorgeous (and I'm not usually into blues).

All classic Loubies are incredible. I have two pairs, Pigalle and Decollette 868, and they are amazing.

Maybe they usually continue to deliver classics. Babels (I'm in love with those boots) were discontinued but this winter were available again -only at CL's shop-, so... who knows... maybe you can get them.

I would try Net-a-Porter, My Theresa, and Louboutin's site itself

  9. Those sandals are TDF, most certainly, ladyinred. I totally agree with Pussyinboots. You might try also Farfetch as it congregates many sites and offers from online retailers and outlets. Other chance is shoehunting. This site checks when there is a drop in price and sends you an e-mail so you can buy if the price suites you. Any way... 200 bucks for a pair of GML is too cheap. I think you should insist, I would but they are not my size and if I buy them I'll have to get rid of some in my shelf for the time being.

  10. Hi mrt, The most important thing -I believe- is that you are able to speak with your wife, despite she has concerns about it. This is a clean start. You shouldn't fear buying on a store. As Walkonit says, clerks -female or male- are too interested in selling. At least in my country, old people are more reluctant than youngsters. Even though, I have tried female footwear in stores -this week, actually was the last time- and they are always glad to assist you. There is nothing like trying them at the site as you will have to return them if they don't fit, and that would be more embarrassing. I know it's a challenge. Specially if you are on the fetish side. You are, surely, more aware of this issues than any of the spectators. Spectators haven't got the slightest clue of what's happening so you should relax and enjoy the experience. I'll share with you my last experience. This week I was looking for a pair of every day boots. As many here, I don't like the styles that are available for males and I had seen a couple of places where they had very nice models that would apply for what I wanted, the only problem was size. I went into the brand store I know the largest size usually fits me well and tried them on. Unfortunately my instep is high so some boots are really tough for me to get in (ski boots are a nightmare for me). If bought them, and I didn't try them, I would have had to go to the cobbler to stretch them or return them and they were high priced. I'll have to wait for the sale season -one or two weeks- and see what I do. On the other hand, regarding your wife: It's not the same using -or going out in- heels you can handle properly than walking clumsily in very high heels. Maybe, if your anxiety doesn't betray you, you might take small steps and introduce low heels first and push them higher with some time.

  11. I'm pretty stout right now. 176cm / 88kg. I should have 15kg less. My healthy weight is between 70 and 73. At my age loosing weight has become a challenge. Specially after following the advices of Ralfy at YouTube.

  12. That's correct Tacchi Alti. It depends on the size of your foot and, eventually if there is a platform, that adds up too. On the other hand; did you know that at rising you are taller than at evening? In my case the difference is around 2.0cm. 177/78 in when I get up and 175.5 when I go to bed. Same happens to my wife. She is 173 and shrinks to 171.

  13. Depends on the brand. Depends on the model, and the occasion. Here we have an old saying which translates for something like this "opportunity is bold and you have to grab her by the hair."

I buy, usually at the brand's store, or at the outlet of a brand store. If I see something I like, experience told me that waiting for the sale can be a miss. And a miss is as good as a mile.

In the Net I went to the retail stores that ship international. Net-a-Porter, The Outnet, Empatic NYC.

I never bought at e-bay or that type of places.
