  1. I second Dr. Shoe. The place you are in, and the attention paid to what everyone is doing makes the difference. Most of the time we are too selfconscious about the footwear we are using and most of the people we meet don't care about what we are wearing.

  2. In my case, I came across Jenny's site and Firefox's site in 1996 or 1998. Didn't post then at those forums, but I recall very interesting people there. Then I logged on here around 2002. I began posting a few years later.

All these sites have been a great support on my heeling.

  3. Yesterday I went shopping at a mall in BA. I got a pair from Zara with 12cm heel and a pair from Prüne with 10.7cm heel. They look much alike but the vamp of the Prünes is more rounded and higher.

The Zaras are labeled size 41 but look more like a 40. The Prünes are 40 but run more like a 41, with breat arch support.

  4. Sorry to hear that your SO rejects you using femenine footware. Maybe you should give her some time on this issue. Here, in Buenos Aires, people don't care much about your attire so maybe it's a friendly spot. Specially in Soho or in the most cosmo places in town. I've been walking in the street with heels and nobody really cares, specially in crowded places -malls, pedestrian walks- where one passes les noted. The fact is that we are normaly very self-concious. Nobody really cares how you dress

  5. Well I just ordered a pair of loubies from Saks… God I’m so excited!!! I just couldn’t resist anymore, I needed a pair of designer shoes for myself. I did order one pair as well for my girlfriend at the same time, she deserves one, birthday gift even though she’s not aware I ordered a pair for myself. She wanted a pair of Pigalle.

I believe Saks has only the Pigalle 100. If you want the 120 you should go to the Louboutin Shop.

  6. As I promised, here are some pictures of my black suede Casadei 8593. Although they are 41 (11) and the insole measures 28cm -11.02"-, they are really tight. They look more like a 40 (27.3cm) -or a french 41- than like a Italian 41 (11) as they were listed. The heel is 13cm (5.1"), and they carry a 1.2cm (1/2") hidden platform. They are really beautiful, the heel is amazing. I added a picture comparing them at the heel with my Pigalles -size 41.5-

  7. With a sensible head, i'd probably say it wasn't worth paying the extra for them, but with a lustful head for them, i'd totally indulge in as many pairs of them as i could afford as they're to die for!

IF there is a sensible head when it comes to heels, it's not mine for sure!

  8. What model of classic stiletto pump would you recommend for a first time buyer ?

    Round toes: Decollète 868 100.

    Pointy toes: Decoltissimo 100.

    Must have: Pigalle 120

    I don't particularly like platforms.

I'm not sure if you are able to find the old Decoltissimo anymore. Net a Porter used to have the Decollètes -Italian word for pumps- last year in black and camel. I can't see them now, nor the Pigalle 120 which were there too.

Any way you should look at Louboutin's Store: http://us.christianlouboutin.com/shoes-1/pumps.html

  9. I have two pairs of Loubies: Pigalle 120 and Decollète 868 100. Both pairs are very well done and comfortable. The fact is I have a pair of knockoffs of both which are very well crafted but one size too small so I can't say if they are really different or not. The Pigalles are really steep and I need to do some training before using them to walk properly (heel is 136mm). Anyway the fit incredibly well. The Decolletes are easy to walk -as are the knockoffs if they hadn't the size issue-, they make walking in heels very natural. The heel of these is 115mm which is the highest I can handle without training. I have another pair of high heels from Missoni which are 125mm and they are not so comfortable. The same happens with Brian Atwood's Nico wich are 125mm also. Both are very well crafted, I must say.
