  1. I haven't told my friends, but that doesn't mean they don't know as some of them might have found my heels around my place. Anyway, nobody said nothing. My wife and my sisters know about my heels, although they don't come home much.

  2. I thought a 43-44 was a 12?

In italian sizing 42 is usually classified as 12 by vendors. You should check them personally if you have the chance, as Bubba says; Louboutins are weird in sizing and a 42 can be many sizes but a 42 depending on the model.

In my case, I'm a 42 and I bought 41.5 and runs perfectly as the fashion adviser suggested. I sent my foot measurements and they answered asap. They are narrow fit, though. The Decolettes I have are 42 and they are a bit snug.

I also have a pair of Atwood's that are 41 and run well. Trying them on is the best way.

  3. In my case, Daniel,

"Would you like to tell your friends because this way you would be able to wear heels when you visit them?"

would break my compromise with my wife regarding "not in front of the kids". So that might work as a good excuse -not a good reason, ok-.
  4. * It's important to stress on the official Christian Louboutin site that they currently don’t sell their products via the net.

I believe this is new. There were several sites that retailed through the Internet with Louboutin's aprooval.

Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, Netaporter, Luisa ViaRoma were all included in their site as retailers, including Internet. At least by March 2010.

  5. Saturn, I you are willing to buy a pair of Pigalle 120 I would go to Net-A-Porter as they will charge you only $565 + $35 of shipping; and you are sure that they are originals. I got them in February and they are still on line. Maybe you have to wait until they replace the missing numbers. Louboutin has been making a lot of fuss about the knock-offs and the fakes so maybe they have taken them away.

  6. You have an interesting point here, Wood&metal. I would put some things in separate ways: First, I wouldn't let guilt merge in between my relationships, with my friends, or with anyone. I don't see how it can help. I'll be as good friend to them heels apart; and I believe that's what counts. On the other hand, maybe I'm a bit self conscious and not that sure of myself for putting the issue up-front. Street heeling has given me the experience that it's not a big issue and that we are more "self conscious" that people can reject the whole thing, than what it can really happen. If the situation goes in the way that I was to tell my buddies/teammates about my heeling, I'll do so. We -my group- are pretty open minded despite we are all in the adventure/off-road/mechanical affairs.

  7. I believe the thread has gone a bit off topic regarding the question of Dodo. To his question, I'll answer no. I never did, and I don't do this either to my wife because I love her for what she; nothing more, nothing less. A for Bubba's and Boots4me's replies: I totally agree with you. I like to see her in heels -she is almost my height so we should use heels together- and this has nothing to do with my pleasure of using heels myself.

  8. Well, Cinnamon, I like some of her designs. I wouldn't classify her as a Top Designer, though... she quite gets into a mild standard. I was just checking Shoehunting and there are some of her shoes I'd certainly get into my closet. Of course, if money is a issue, there are lots more from other designers that could be in first. I'll put it this way: I prefer her to Steve Madden; but I wouldn't trade her for Alex Mc Queen.

  9. Those LF, as well as the McQueen's original Armadillos, are really hideous. I agree with you that the McQueen's, at least, had an original touch and were more proportionate than these ones. Any way those are just runway shoes. I don't imagine people actually street walking on such shoes.

  10. Males should be compared to other males - as roosters are compared to roosters and not to hens  And yes - male animals are the prettier - only humans have inverted that.

Well, that's absolutely reasonable as females are crucial on the species survival and males are spare. A much more "attractive" fellow has much more chances to get killed, as well as to reproduce. Nature just takes the chances, my friend.

  11. Unfortunately, Bubba, I missed the Clichys but I managed to get hold of a pair of Pigalle 120 and Decolette 868. I agree with you that Clichys are The Perfect Pump. I also agree that price appeals for been roasted, toasted and burnt alive! Happily my wife wouldn't spend so much money in shoes and, if she does, it's usually me buying for her. That doesn't mean I wouldn't be burnt, we just agreed we wouldn't discuss the price of shoes. Any way... it's a good reason for a clever man!

  12. I spent a a big deal on some pairs of my collection -just 105 today-. I would would willingly do it again for a couple of boots I'm after if they reappear. One of them has appeared, but the site were I've seen them doesn't ship abroad... so: I'm waiting. My only concern is my partner's reaction on the price. Maybe I'll ask her to bring them from Miami in her next trip.

  13. These arrived today. Nice craftsmanship, although my blue patent Argentine knock-offs have little to envy on these Louboutins -besides the size, of course-. Very, very comfortable. Size 42 (IT) insole measures 28.2cm, heel is 11.4cm -4.5"-.

  14. The article is poor, certainly. But, if we had a trend on oil and heels -better say platforms-, maybe there could be a trait to follow. It is true that luxury bursts when economy is healthy and it declines when markets are strained. What I remember from my teens and youth is that very high heels -maybe the same heights we see today- were available during the '70s and early 80's. Cork platforms with 6in heels were popular at those days, together with 12cm high heeled pumps or boots. I remember Charles Jourdan 81's collection which was incredibly high; or Walter Steiger's, Xavier Danaud, Bally or even Gucci. By the 1991, at least in this part of the world, we had only 3" and 3.5" heels around. I couldn't get hold of a 4" pump because there was no place to find them; maybe only in the performance circuit you could find some. Girls, and ladies, were never over 7cm or 8cm heels. During this decade we had another petrol quake and it seems heels are getting higher, and platforms and wedges are back on track. I haven't collected any data to analyze this particular phenomenon, it's just observation. Any way... I hope they stay and we have Pigalles for many years, Le Silla's and Lorenzi's for many more too.
