  1. Those shoes are amazing, Booty_lover. I bought them last year by and they are really high (13.6cm). They are, certainly, my highest heels w/o platform; and the heel is incredibly thin. At first they seemed hard to walk in but with a couple of days of use I managed to handle them, but I can only do short steps on them. I don't think I'll be able to do street heeling easily with them yet. I have a pair of CL Dècollètte 868 which are much more friendly.

  2. Any heel above 4" is too much for an interview. Sadly, people DO judge by first impressions....even in this so called 'enlightened' age.

Anything eyecatching or intended to distract the interviewer should be taken as a wrong choice. If you are going to a job interview your skills regarding the application should count; and not other "assets".

In this case: short skirts, improper garment, heels over 3", maybe 3.5", excessive makeup, etc. should be taken as a bad note.

It depends on the type of job application, any way. It's not the same for a secretary or an assistant than for a hotel's public relations.

  3. I prefer almond toes. I have pointy toes and really they are not as comfortable. Regarding style, I believe the turning point around a Blahnik Carolyn. I think pointier heels are not very stylish. Any way, as a rule -at least for me-,a higher heel allows a pointier toe. My choice of a pointy style, at this time, would be a CL Pigalle.

  4. I found a pair of used Louboutin hyper prives in early 2009 on ebay...i was completely stunned that they were hardly worn, authentic and only $400. The owner claimed she had only worn them 3 times. Desparate for a pair of used Pigale 120's....

If you are desperate, Lance, I'd take the $595 deal on the site mentioned above.

I had to wait my size almost for two months, with both the Decolletes and the Pigalles.

  5. acesecret, The Louboutin table is quite accurate. The point is that, regarding the price involved in "designer's" shoes, you should try them on first. Specially if you have 41/42 as size number. Many of these brands have those numbers avaliable -Louboutin, for instance- and there is nothing like it. I know it needs some guts to do it. And on the other hand, mine I bought through the Internet as I have no Louboutin store here in Argentina. Any way, London has brand stores where you can get those models... so trying them is a chance you shouldn't discard.

  6. As far as I know, Internet stores should sell abroad without VAT. The goods I've bought through the internet from UK or The States have never specified if VAT is included or deducted from price; be it electronic hardware, clothes, shoes or mechanical spare parts for my car. Some do have a notice that say they include all taxes if your purchase is going to certain countries and you shouldn't pay any extra cost for your purchase. On the other hand, if you go to the local customes office -when exiting a country other than yours- they should refund the VAT on the things you are taking with you. I was never able to do this either because I found no customes office or because I hadn't the time from the airline counter to the boarding gate.
