  1. That was a really good link Maxine thanks,

I treated myself some shoes from 'boutin just recently

    "Architeck slingbacks"

Platforms really aren't my cup of tea when they're exposed or exagerated but these hidden ones are more comfortable to wear than my regular shoes. I also bought a little black cocktail dress from edressme.com, the'll be a perfect match if it ever arrives here.

In answer to your question regarding following fashion then I do......old fashion. Well, classic to be more apropriate.

A rather marvellous issue of the Observer (UK) yesterday with shedloads of lovely shoes to look at...the shoe buying guide itself doesn't appear to be online, but this article has a splendid section by Louboutin ("I never ask is this shoe too high? For me there ain't no high heel high enough!")

Also an amusing article here on current fashion generally, not just shoes. Apparently platforms remain in, but the "important factor for footwear this spring is a general mood of frivolity and nonsense...if your shoes aren't remarked upon by strangers, you're missing the point." Cool...although I can't agree with their recommendation of this peculiar creation at Top Shop.

Anyway, thought you ladies might find some of those interesting. Out of curiosity, how closely do you follow the dicates of fashion in shoes? Personally I try to be reasonably fashionable and up-to-date but if I don't like the style that happens to be of the moment then I won't wear it. And I ain't buying those Top Shop ones no matter how many fashion editors tell me otherwise!

  2. Interesting film clip. One which you can regard as pretentious or brilliant depending in which camp you are in. I'm in the former!

For those of you unsure of which camp you're in, here's the Director's Commentaryon his latest film "Drawing Restraint 9"

  3. Just looked up on the Bebe site and there are on there...looks like the site stock changes frequently as they were not on there yesterday! :@)

Anyway no stock of the bone and black combo...but enquiry has been made!

Thanks to all for the help

    Wonderful, thank you :santa_hat:

  4. I reckon the are by Bebe, possibly Chanel knockoffs. The shape looks the same as Bebe's current range.

Have look at their website. I didn't see the style you posted but others look to have the same heel and hidden platform shape.

    Happy searching.

    Ben

Thank you for that link Ben, they have some beautiful shoes.

  5. Does that mean you have a low tolerance of wierdness, or that you find it hard to believe that anyone could be more interested in your shoes than you? :santa_hat:

I happen to believe that I'm more interesting than my shoes that's all

  6. I get all the plastic tips replaced with steel, if not right away then fairly early on.

It's a bad idea to leave it too long because the base of the heel itself can get damaged.

I don't buy those kind of disposable shoes that one throws away so easily.

When you wear your thin heels down so that the plastic tip falls off, exposing the heel nail, do you:

a- stop wearing them / throw them out

b- stop wearing them until you can get them repaired

c- wear them less until you get them repaired

d- carry on wearing them regardless

If you do get them repaired, do you replace the plastic tips or have steel tips fitted? If you don't bother repairing them, is there any reason?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!!

    Spacey
