  1. I should have remembered some lipstick, it would have added a bit more to the overall photos. JeffM, well, it's been an ongoing project and I made it, and for those who have encouraged it all this time, such as yourself, it is nice to be able to share the results. Anne_Louise, you can make it if you wish. Once 6.5 is common place, get a pair at 7 inches, wear them while lying down, to leg raises, just try standing in them with something to balance on, and focus on that before the walking. Everything will fall into place after that. I am still working out the walk in those heels myself, after all. Everything in good time. :D As far as close up pictures go, well, that's why I stick photos in the member's section on Jenny's web page. :) Hey, we need to pay for the server and other things these days, and the sponsor stuff is doing nothing. I need to do some work on that front, I think...

  2. If you cannot see the pictures, please go to Jenny's page, my profile there has the pictures I am posting here. Not the member part, just the regular part. Have to share something with everyone.

Head there, Laurie's Lair, that should let you see if you can't here. That's where the picture is linked from, so...

As for sdinking in the ground, in the picture the left heel is sinking a bit. It was not easy. Walking around a bit was not easy. I had my red pumps as well, they sunk into the ground but of course I walk better in them.

The ground itself was soft, damp, even with no rain in about a week. Autumn does that.

So how did I manage it?

Practice! Stretches, with the shoes on and off, helped to get that straight legged look. :D

Thanks everyone, I am glad I could share this with you.

  3. I think this subject is supposed to be for the girls to answer, and the Guys forum area has its own thread for this. But what do I know. And I was wearing heels at 15, but not regularly. I went into full swing of mid heels at 23, and then at 27 decided to go gor high heels and very high heels.

  4. I just thought I would share with everyone. I know I have not posted a lot of late, and it is coming up on paying for server time, so...

Something to share with regard to the accomplishments I've made while not posting as much.

    :D

  5. Okay, for all who have doubt, for all who think these hunched over ladies are amazing for not being able to stand in their seven inch heels..

    Behold.

STRAIGHT LEGS and seven inch heels. Barley a bend in those knees. And I even walked around a bit while the pictures were being taken, in the park.

So do I get to continue the reign as goddess?

  6. Htj101, Vancouver, huh? I won't be back there until February, so that may not help me. I can see the more fashionable boots going there and the ugly ones going to Calgary, since the weather there is so much easier to deal with in the winter. So fashion can come before keeping warm and not slipping on ice when the thermometer freezes from the cold. :D heehee

  7. I've tried them on, they're good if they have a size 11 when the heel is 3 inches or above, for me anyway. There are places that carry Nine West, but not an exclusive store as far as I know. It may take some research and leg work to track down the boots here. But I will give it a try in October.

  8. They all have an appeal, different heights with different looks. I like them all once they're above three inches, but I have a favourite look. But it also goes with the sizes of the shoes as well as other facotrs. I like a slightly higher heel for sandals as look, but slightly lower heel for sandals when wearing them because I like to be very mobile. A lot of people are going to say that there is no such thing as too high. But I think that too high is a matter of situation and circumstance. A little redundant, I know. The idea being, every height with a purpose. Personally, 5.5 inch heels are spot on for me. :D

  9. Heels are higher for larger sizes, so the most popular size has a heel height around 3 inches, but larger sizes would be 3.5 I love lace up boots, and if Nine West is carrying them, chances are good I might be able to get a pair. (The paypal is pretty low for ordering off the net these days) Boots boots boots...

  10. I broke the heel on my favorite ankle boots last year, cracked and then the metal rod bent. And one of the cats chewed the straps off of my very comfy four inch sandals. So we all feel for your tragedy and offer sympathy for this tragedy. It has to happen some time, and we share your pain.

  11. Okay, I showed the picture to my sister, and we went web surfing and searching. The cat is real. The woman is average size. Wha? How? No way! Is that what you are saying? Well, before you go all out here... It's not a joke, it is a real cat. The breed is Manx Coon, they can be quite big. The cat weighs 24 pounds. Keep in mind, stretched out and with fur all fluffy it looks really big. We found other pictures of the same woman and the cat, and pictures of the cat and his sister sitting on a 2 person couch, taking up both seats. So it is not a regular variety of house cat, it is a very specific breed that can be very long and fluffy and thus look huge as well as be huge. Kewl, huh?

  12. Three inch as the starting point is a perfect place. I had worn three inch heels since being a teen, and then I decided to start with the higher heels a few years ago. And as I slowly worked my way up, I became great with heels. Imagine it like a marathon (this is my copyright example for the little article I've been working on for Jenny's site) If you aren't used to running, and you try to run a marathon, you will be very sore, in a lot of pain, and probably will collapse before the end. Or imagine lifting weights. If you start off trying to lifting something that is several hundred pounds, you'll tear a muscle and take a long time to recover. It is the training. It is mastering a lap around the track, and then 2, and then 3. It is lifting 20 pounds, then 30, then 40. And so it is for heels, having the foot accept a three inch heel, wearing it for an hour, then two, then all day, and then, pushing that limit and forcing the body to accept a higher heel for an hour, then two, then four hours, then all day. And then, four and a half. Then five. And a half. And six. And a half. And then, you'll be trying to stand in seven inchers, stretching the legs, working the muscles and tendons, and giving the body time to adapt and set a new level. And taking that time means stress, pain, and injury are not things to be associated with wearing heels. In some ways it is a lifestyle choice. Athletes do get days off, of course, and I have days where I wear runners. But once the limit is set high, one has to return to it often to maintain it, or the body will drop that limit.

  13. I've been meaning to finish a new guide for learning to wear heels.. Okay, a few qualifying questions. What height is she used to normally, and what height is she trying to wear? I found that mastering a certain height and then moving up helped my feet to adapt. I do get asked about how I can wear heels so high, and my answer is always "practice". It is just like any other physical training. One has to start at a certain point, master it, and then advance. As for pain, well, one can pad shoes so that the balls of the feet to not hurt. To help toes, have a slightly larger size than normal to allow the toes a bit more room. So if she is used to something like 2 inch heels, she shuold start with a three inch pair, starting at around half an hour a day, to an hour at most iof she isn't doing much walking. And then progress over the weeks to spending an hour or two mostly on her feet. Once three inch heels feel good, move to four following the same pattern. Half an hour to an hour, moderate walking, then moving to a few hours. Once four inch heels can be done for many hours without problem, then one can go 4.5 and five inch, and the same pattern follows. It's like building muscles through weight training. You can't just push your body to extreme weights or you get hurt. Feel free to carry on the conversation here, or ask questions through e-mail if you like. :D

  14. Diary? Probably not. But a report, certainly. As for a shoe horn... I've always thought that if the shoe fits, you don't need one. I think it is just about breaking them in. I've come up with an interesting exercise that might help people work up the heel heights. I decided to put on my 6.5 inch red pumps today, and walking is fine, though my knees bend just a little bit. But If you stand near something like a table or dresser, and place a few fingers on it to steady yourself, you can extend your legs until they are straight with your feet flat on the ground. For me, no pain when doing this. I can't say others would avoid it. I can say that it might be a means of stretching out tendons and such without strain, since you are distributing some of the weight to your arm, down through your fingers and into the object you're pressing against. If it works for 6.5 inchers I'll have to try it with 7 inchers once I find out where I packed them in my recent move. Only 4 or 5 boxes to choose from. :D
