  1. Indeed! I'll be free to go jaunting as much as I want with no fear of any reprecussions or anything like that. I can't wait!

Well, I've been all skirts (along with the occasional dress) all the time since late April of 2013, and it's been thoroughly enjoyable so far.

Could formal pencil skirts (not denim or chino) be on the horizon? :silly:
  2. The Pope is visiting the comic shop? :silly:

Well done with your decision regarding bifurcated clothing, but how will going to work skirted be? Is the environment at work accomodating of freestylers or do you have any formal trousers for the office left?

It's a bold move but well done on making the decision :) you need some fitted dresses and formal skirts for the office

  3. Would you mind telling me what wrong with Jenner and why you think she's a fool? It took a huge amount if courage to come out as transgender as a celebrity. Wearing heels and skirts does NOT make anyone transgender.

I hope the women mentioned in this thread, who want their men masculine, are girly girls themselves or else I would call them hypocrates.

I was giving my own experience and Jenner is a fool. I am not against anyone who comes out as TG but Bruce turned it all into a circus. Most people coming out experience ostracism, even worse but it's almost like the show Jenner has (or had as it died on its arse) seemed to gloss over any of these issues and trivialise it all. For some who just wear skirts as men, no it may not lead you down the TV/TS path. But for quite a few it may do. Pumpcat who used to post here made that decision after she transitioned, fair play to her. She added other accessories to her heels, naturally skirts / dresses etc.

Getting back on topic, Jenner is a fool for the way she handled it, not just the inevitable divorce but the impact on her kids, ie Brodie and Kylie. You may not like my opinion but thankfully that's not my problem :silly:

  4. @LuvyourShoes I briefly described my initial excitement of heeling (and skirting) in my thread, but looking back I got kinda carried away with my new lifestyle. I was bold enough to go dressed as I felt to work, the Personnel dept at first didn't seem to mind (similar to JeffB's ensembles, but a smarter pencil skirt for the office, and not denim). No worries about using transportation and everyone else around me didn't seem to bat an eyelid. (I wonder if they were trying to 'unsee' me :P ) but those closest to me caused the biggest issues. I see a parallel with Bruce Jenner in getting too carried away too quickly and once people stop liking or caring you just have to get on with your life on your own.

I think I could have done things better and not been so arrogant but it seems anything that doesn't fall into the typical male template makes some partners uncomfortable or even hostile. At one point I was thinking I could have been TG / TS and looked into surgery (all bootleg stuff from Internet but the hormones didn't work as quickly as I had hoped). I decided just to keep to my clothing choices but Jenner showed me how things can go so wrong.

I still love my heels (I love boots) but it was at a price. I think very few here have the backing of a supportive partner.

Another issue is heeling is an expensive hobby so I have to save up to buy some more.

As for the name calling yes it hurt but that's the way some people are

  5. I may have been a tad harsh but things were quite sour for me, and this was all before Bruce Jenner came out, but still the heels for her pointed towards 'feminization' and she saw fit to replace me, sadly. There are some here who very rarely have a supportive partner but it seems to be few and far between. We are at varying levels of boldness when it comes to dress, some of us with just heels under our jeans, some even skirted. Acceptance would be good but I think that fool Jenner has blown that chance for us with that stupid 'I Am Cait' and it's more likely even those just having an interest in heels gets tarred with the same brush.

  6. I think this is a common problem. My wife felt the same, as I mentioned in my thread that I had. She felt that the shoes (and skirts) were too much and set out to replace me. She's now with another guy. I briefly saw them as I was allowed to visit the kids for half an hour and was called all sorts of things, such as 'batty man' which was hurtful. She said in the past it was either her or the clothes (including shoes). I know I made the right choice. Dump her

  7. Weather has been bad in London so today it's a simple black pencil skirt with black gloss tights and my favourite boots. Had to get some shopping and didn't want to get too wet outside. Not much of a jaunt compared to yours, Jeff, but i feel more confident out and about  thanks for the encouragement as well :)

  8. Hmm! I see that term is going to get a goodly amount of traction, especially when I feel the urge to wear a maxiskirt. Meanwhile....

    Jaunt #275, 7/12/2015:

Another day of sunny and warm weather, another opportunity to take advantage of the conditions for an outing, albeit a short one as I had a couple of errands to run, which I did in a red tank top with my 16 inch black denim miniskirt, the Payless "Salliana" platform wedge sandals and my favorite black handbag. With temps in the upper 80's with plenty of sunshine, I figured conditions were just right to wear a mini, and it was certainly the right call as I felt cool and comfortable, paired with the light colored tank, it made for the sort of purely casual outfit just about any woman would just throw on to run errands on a late Sunday morning, and while I suspect most women would opt for flip-flops over four inch heels, I wasn't about to go that far in my emulation of the clothing styles of the fairer sex.

But I digress. I headed west into Springfield for my errand running, first to Acme supermarket to pick up a few odds and ends I couldn't find on my shopping expedition earlier in the morning, the store was hustling and bustling with people, but I went mostly ignored (save for small kids, as usual) over the fifteen or so minutes I spent there. Stop number two was further down the road to Bed Bath & Beyond to buy a new folding chair to use on my front porch as my old one had fallen apart and wasn't safe to use. After finding a nice new chair for just under thirty bucks (before taxes), I paid for my purchase, then headed back towards home, but with a stop at Best Buy for a little wandering. It was around noon or so and the place was fairly busy, but I went ignored, no stares or any of that stuff, spent well over half an hour there, engrossed in my usual ogling of gadgets and gizmos before heading to the register with the first season of Penny Dreadful on Blu-Ray which was on sale for $17.99. Whoo-hoo! Just love a sale! From there, it was back home.

Just like yesterday, the outing was short but enjoyable, as is any adventure spent in a skirt and heels. Oh, and I hope Kilty and Thighbootguy will be happy to see me in a mini. Heh! More to come....

Looking good, no grannification! (Just means to look old, see Urban Dictionary ) nice skirt, goes well with the top! I guess the notion of a man in a skirt is not such a big deal to people anymore, hence minimal stares, but I think it's down to how much confidence you show when you're out and about.

Looking forward to your next jaunt :)

  9. I definitely prefer shorter skirts, and personally think you present better in them Jeff.  But whatever floats your boat.  Keep on keeping on!

    +1

The longer skirts are a bit 'grannified' and add years to you, if I'm honest. Even the skirts that have buttons down the front are a little bit dated IMHO. I know you love your denim pencil skirts, but pencil skirts do come in an array of colours and materials so could be worth a try if you are looking to update your wardrobe :silly:

Looking forward to your next (miniskirted) jaunt

  10. You did well to maintain your composure, TBG. But those lower down the food chain will have to get used to fashion freedom sooner or later. I found the Vine of you in the store, but it's not worth putting it here. As the girl filming it was laughing so hard, it was very shaky in quality. I think the video has been taken down now anyway. They have some sort of insecurity they need to overcome. Don't worry about this. Stay strong ♡

  11. Last night I went out to Kroger's for milk and OJ.  I wore a short black cotton dress, a red leather jacket, a necklace, hose and black leather thigh boots with 5 ¼" stiletto heels.  I'm not sure why I didn't wear my new boots other than the fact it had been raining and things were wet and I didn't want to mess them up on the first outing.

As wandered the store and got a couple of looks but for the most part it was a quick shopping trip.  I did enjoyed the shopping.  In the parking lot, under the lights, I got a picture.

    :wavey:

JeffB - Thanks for the comments and advice.  I'm going to have to start putting more effort into going out.  By the way, you were right on the short black dress looking good with thigh boots.

I needed some almond extract for some cookies so I headed to Kroger's wearing a shiney black dress, brown belt, rust suede pumps with 3 ½" stiletto heels, hose, a  necklace, a straw hat.  This not wearing extravagant boots is still taking some getting used to but this is an outfit much more likely to be worn by a lady.

In the store I got several head to toe looks.  Since I only wanted a small bottle of extract I didn't bother with a cart so there was nothing to hide behind.  For the most part I was just another shopper, at least I felt that way.

On the way home I stopped in Walgreen and bought two more of the short cotton dresses in pink and blue (JeffB inspired).  None of the staff that know me were on duty so it was like walking into a new store, which is kind of fun.  No one batted an eye at a guy in a dress buying two more dresses.

I stopped in our local park for a few pictures:

Is TBG feeling a little girly?  Yeah probably.

    :wavey:

It's good to feel girly ♡ nothing wrong with that. You have good fashion sense, the longer dress suits you, though I prefer the slit in my skirts to be at the back, but that's just my personal choice. I would lose the beard and add a little fake tan on your arms, but again just my opinion. I loved that suit you wore a few weeks ago

  12. Boris has returned to Parliament, but for the meantime, Eddie is wrapped up in his tour promotion in Europe, but we'll see what other outfits he comes up with. Last time he went back into male mode and was in regular guys clothing for a few years. He might forget politics for now. Interestingly there was a law passed that gave boys the option of skirts for uniform in school, and more teaching of LGBT issues as part of normal education. I assume boys will have to wear flats and sensible shoes with their skirts, but no heels

Eddie certainly introduced fashion freestyling to a very reserved UK public, but surprisingly no backlash for his fashion choices :)

  13. He is contemplating London Mayor in 2020. Izzard is quite a flamboyant character. I would have mixed it up with different coloured suits or pencil skirts / dresses, but perhaps he didn't want to overshadow the (dull) candidates :)

  14. He could do with some style advice from JeffB perhaps :) It seems to be one of two black pencil skirts, one with a rear slit that is part of a suit, though it's clear the bodycon is his favourite  usually light denier black tights, sometimes nude ones, and either black stilettos or suede knee high boots. Though with that silly scarf about his neck, he looks like an air hostess who's a long way from the airport :nono:

Quite positive comments about his dress (or should I say skirts) from the general public, it was the only colourful thing in Labour Party's campaign, though it didn't help them into government... He was in the same or similar skirt most of April for touring the country. No one really batted an eyelid, as JeffB says, if you dress well you just blend in. I think the key is just getting out there in your heels (and skirt if you wish)

Not sure if it was just to get more publicity ahead of his own comedy tour. He's back in his skirted phase which is nice :)

The last pic is of a suit I just ordered online as I thought I would treat myself to something nice :)

  15. Eddie Izzard has been looking very smart in his heels, almost jealous of how he can walk on something that high

Love the pink top he has on in the last picture ♡♡♡ He has had a lot of support, and most comments have been very positive. He's been touring the country in various pencil skirt and suit ensembles.

Just get out there in your heels !:)
