Ok guys... long time no new Freestyle pictures. I setup my photo home studio, consisting of two flashes + photo umbrellas on light tripods, my trusted Nikon D3 with remote flash commander and connected it to my Mac for tethered, self-timer shooting. The reason why I did these photos was because I am currently having a conversation with one of the forum's members on a jacket by Burberry I just bought, and which I am not too sure about. I like the material and details (it really feels nice and is made extremely well), but due to its peplum cut, it makes one appear much broader than usual. So I am torn whether I should keep it, although I like it quite a lot. It just doesn't seem to fit to the rest of what I am wearing.

As I had setup all that equipment, I thought: Why not do a couple of more pics? So, here they are. First the ones without the Burberry jacket, then the ones with it. I would really appreciate your comments, especially on that jacket.

First outfit: Inspred by Olivia Palermo. I am like the fat version of her, plus I just realized that the coated trousers I am wearing are quite a lot darker bordeaux red than hers.

Real rabbit fur vest by Sly 010, sweater by s.Oliver, trousers by s.Oliver, boots by Giampaolo Viozzi.

    Outfit No. 2:

Blouse by Esprit, Skirt by Dorothea Schumacher, leggings by Isabel Marant, Boots by Ch. Louboutin.

Outfit No. 3: How to wear a patent skirt halfway gracefully as a guy:

Striped sweater by Stefanel, skirt by Hallhuber, Leggings still by Isabel Marant, suede boots by Michael Kors. Idea: Offsetting the sexed-up patent leather skirt by natural materials. Don't go too high with the boots, and try to avoid knee-high or even overknee boots. Unless you are earning money with it, then it's ok ;)

Outfit No. 4: How a typical winter outfit could look like.

Down jacket by Esprit (altered in the bust area by my tailor), turtleneck by s.Oliver, Satin-Skirt by Hallhuber, leggings by Isabel Marant, Boots by A.F. Vandevorst.

Now to the pictures with the Burberry jacket.

Outfit No. 5: Combining a skirt

Jacket by Burberry, Turtleneck by s.Oliver, Skirt by Asos, Leggings by Isabel Marant, boots by Ch. Louboutin.

    Outfit No. 6: Jeans.

Turtleneck by s.Oliver, Jeans by Tommy Hilfiger, booties by Prada.

    Outfit No. 7: Glamour

Satin blouse by Darling Harbor, Trousers by Paco Rabanne, booties (not visible) by Zara.

    So... what do you think?

Absolutely love outfits 2, 3 and 5  fabulous skirts. I wish I could pull off that look. Just a simple grey pencil skirt and black tights today (just took my heels off) Not weather for going out as it's wet.

  2. Looks great! It has been unseasonably warm around these parts too, especially for December. A great reason to go without any tights. I am back home now (temporary accommodation ), but won't hijack the thread lest others start to kick off... I would stare at such an outfit as it looks so good, and you have the confidence to make it work! You do you, hun

Where did you get your skirt from? Looks lovely :)

  4. Looking good, Jeff! Probably as you are dressed so well, it was a 'flop'... it was nothing extreme, a lovely skirt as well! As long as you dress well and carry yourself well, there will be no stares or double takes. I have tried coordinating my outfits more, more new tights for my formal skirts as the weather is getting colder. But nothing extreme...

Looking forward to your next jaunt as always.

  5. When I am in a cute pair of pumps and a skirt that shows off my fabulous ass, yes I do! It would be nice to get the compliments that women do, but the sexism and being treated as a second class citizen would be wearing. When I am dolled up I do catch guys checking me out which is flattering, but none follow thru. So yes, the disappointment some women can feel is very real too. I think dressing like a drag queen does no favours, that's not a fair portrayal of women. Sadly the 'circus freak' image is what some guys go for if they choose to wear skirts with their heels. I wouldn't wear a skirt shorter than 20 inches, that's just me, and even then, that's more in the summer months. Pinterest has been good to find suitable business outfits that can look sexy, yet not trashy. If I wear a knee-length skirt,  then I would balance it with making sure it has a generous slit at the back to show off my legs, and perhaps stockings to go with the shoes. I have also bought some women's jeans which show off my legs when I team them with boots.

As a man, feminine traits are looked down upon, but I think gender roles are changing. I don't want to set the moderator off, so I won't say much more, but dressing well on a night out has got me some very nice results ♡♡

  6. Looking fabulous as ever! Love the shoes ♡ skirt is cute as well. Time to break out the thick tights and boots, I wore thick tights with my denim pencil skirt today for the first time in a while. Looking forward to your next jaunt :)

  7. The click of the heels is no problem, just when I am at home and the heels are off and doing housework or other things, the noisy skirt drove me mad.. didn't matter what was worn with it or underneath, the noise was just the same. I think it is the way the PVC material inside of the skirt was lined (not like a regular skirt lining), it looked like the material would eventually cracking or deteriorate, and when nature called it was a bitch to pull up when you urgently needed to  (TMI, but no other way to explain) but I liked the cut and the length of the walking vent, but the material was wrong... leather or pleather would be better...

  8. I'm still around, Kilty, just been busy of late. As for that next jaunt, don't quite know yet, but I hope to go out again soon. A pity about the skirt you said you disposed, leather is nice, but darn expensive. Good luck with that!

Jeff, it would more than likely be pleather rather than PVC. The shops are full of them at the minute, and the midi skirt, especially pencil ones are popular at the moment. The PVC one looked nice in terms of its length, way it sat on my hips and all, but the noise when walking, doesn't matter if you wear tights or not, slip or not, was just deafening. I was rustling everywhere I walked. I felt a little self conscious in it as well. It wasn't too expensive so the loss was no bother.

  9. Hi Jeff. Haven't heard from you in a while, any jaunts on the horizon?  Feeling a bit bad as my last lot of pics were so big... that skirt was no good in the end, the noise I made just to walk in it was like wearing a plastic bag, so I threw it away... might get a proper leather one soon. Denim does look better so I might just stick to that unless it's something I need to dress up for. Looking forward to your next jaunt

  10. TBG & Mr. X: I will do my best to present a look similar to the photo I posted. I'm excited by that outfit, mainly because of the thigh boots, I don't think that ensemble would've worked with any other footwear, and that's why I'm eager to wear it.

Kilty: That's a nice outfit. I'd like to give that a try myself. Meanwhile, I remember Payless offering gold toe cap pumps, but they didn't come in my size, otherwise, I would've bought a pair.

Thanks for the kind words. You inspired me to put on my boots and a cute new PVC pencil skirt (pictured) today as I went to do my shopping. Felt a little self conscious, the slit at the back was quite high which made me feel a mixture of daring, yet exposed. Got a compliment from another shopper who asked where I bought my boots from! Another man asked why I was dressed the way I was, and I said I drew my inspiration from Seann Miley Moore from the X Factor  UK. He rocked a similar pencil skirt but with a sheer top on his audition and people loved him!

No jaunts this weekend? I thought I would see that cute mini or are you saving your jaunts for another time?

  11. JeffB;

You have certainly set yourself an interesting challenge.  I'm really looking forward to your interpenetrate of that  great look.  Do note that the sweater and the boots are a soft fabric which I think adds balance to the overall look.

    interpretate?

  12. Jeff, would love to see you in that outfit ! Very bold and youthful. Thanks for the preview, though there's not much left of summer for such a short skirt... I'm stocking up on tights soon, if you excuse the pun

34e158181ea3470c4824a0f17c6944c9.jpg I am trying this look out, which is bold and am scouring ebay for the top and shoes

  13. Oh, I have pencil skirts, even a couple in black knit, and I'll be wearing them in the weeks to come. My plan is to work in outings here and there where I get dressed up instead of casual outings.

ooh good... I look forward to your next jaunt :)

Thanks for the kind words. I liked that plaid skirt which was perfect for spring and summer because of how light it is. I plan to experiment more with prints instead of wearing solid colors. By the by, I like the idea you provided. Another objective is to wear more feminine looking tops in the future.

    Both outfits look great.

You should consider trying hose to smooth out the flow of your legs.  They feel great to wear and really do make your legs look good.  They also average out the temperature when cold air hits your legs and reduces the BRRRRRRR effect .

Well, it's still too hot and humid in these parts for hosiery, so I'll just have to wait awhile for that.

Glad you like my suggestion. I thought the skirt and shoes were cute and would suit your complexion.  Waiting for you to embrace the pencil skirt, you don't know what you are missing!

For me, just a simple black one teamed with some cute shoes today. Very few reactions which was nice ♡

  15. Jeff, you absolutely nailed it in the tan skirt! Nice slides too. Although there is a little bit of summer left, it's definitely getting close to tights again. Actually bought some stockings as I have felt that chill on my legs too, even when in a slightly longer midi skirt!

The plaid one looks nice too, but very light. I am loving those brown slides. Time for the midi skirts to come out of the wardrobe now that autjmn is coming. I think this look in the attached photo - pencil skirt (and shoes) would suit you. Snug in cooler weather, yet sophisticated and doesn't look too dressy.

Looks like its back to photobucket for now

Looking forward to your next jaunt :cheeky:

  16. Hmph! I can't see the pictures either. Most annoying.

Your word pictures are good enough if they can't roll back the forum to the previous release (if it ain't broke, don't fix it ).. picturing you in some black O'Malley slides teamed with a snug midi pencil skirt in denim on one of your jaunts to the Post Office to get a Money Order, followed by Chick-fil-A and a browse in Best Buy

If you upload using Photobucket (using the direct URL, not %C2%A0) rather than the gallery attachment (which seems to be off line), pictures can be seen.

I took the liberty of posting one of your old links from page 18 of your thread (May 2009)

Here's a nice pic of one your jaunts  - I so want that skirt and bag

  17. TBG: Thanks for the kind words. Perhaps I'll wear more blue in the future. Admittedly, I don't frequent malls all that much while on jaunts, in fact, I think this past Saturday was only the second or third time I've done that, still, it was mildly interesting, if but for no other reason than the reactions. Will I do that again? Who can say.

Kilty: Perhaps the skirt was a tad long for the season, something like that would be more suitable for fall than summer, still, I enjoyed wearing it. As for looking out of place, well, I don't think that was quite the case.

The main thing is that you had fun. Don't worry about the stares
  18. Hmm not too sure on this look. A decent knee length pencil skirt can address those issues :silly: perhaps a tad overdressed, even one of your usual denim skirts would have sufficed :)

I think 'invisible denim' would have worked here, IMHO :)

The outfit did look a little out of place...

  19. Very relevant thread for me as well, my wife of many years went from someone I trusted and cared for to someone who turned completely malicious towards me. I've never worn any "true" heels in public, but do own a few pairs that have been worn in private. She was unsatisfied with the intimate side of things for years and when my kids started thinking my shoes were interesting and cool that was all she needed to try to use that against me. She tried to accuse me of truly criminal level things which was all false and collaborated with her mother who has a long history of mental illness. My wife is probably "off" as well because she has shunned many of her long time friends, etc. and people who have no idea anything is going on say she has become very "weird". But here again part of the issue has been her major hangup with the small feminine side of me. The worst part over the past months has been her literally holding me hostage by refusing to let me be with my kids unless "supervised" even though it was never court ordered, etc. We're finally getting into the divorce process and mylawyer will fight it to the state supreme court on discrimination grounds if I'm denied rightful access to my kids just because I own some shoes that don't quite fall into the conventional category or not perceived to be "masculine" enough to be a viable father. However, she is starting to realize how much this all costs and is showing interest in mediation and getting past it all. Nonetheless the intolerance is very disheartening.

Sorry to hear this. Your soon to be ex sounds very malicious and difficult. If she has also turned her back on her friends, then you know it's not just you. Sounds like she may have mental health problems of her own to deal with. Not too sure of how custody of children and social care is in the States, but surely you can argue that she would be in no fit state to care for them (or have custody) if she's so unpredictable in her behaviour. The wearing of heels is nothing compared with the behaviour you just described.

A viable father cares for his kids no matter what fashion choices he may have. If Caitlyn had done the same instead of trying to compete with all of the Kardashians I might have respected her more. With Caitlyn it's gone out of control and it's just dress up. Now Caitlyn wants a man to treat her like a real woman. You couldn't make it up. :nono:

I hope it all works out for you.
