  1. Greatings radiodave :-)

Nice shoe collection you got there.

I hope you put them all back in the closet soon because your cat may chew on them ;)

(I also have a cat and I'm sure he would try to eat them...)

    Happy heeling !

Oh yes, I learned the hard way a while back that shoe straps are a great chew toy for the cats. At least they think so, I tend to disagree. ;)

  2. Bad Robot, you've got me beat by a long shot. I will say they have been accumulating for me. Today I finally decided to get all of them out, and I counted them. I have 62 pairs that all came from the "ladies' section. I only have 7 that are bona fide "mens". I think I'll go try each and every one of them on because I can. ;)

  3. Ordered a shoe called "Carey", a black leather pump with a peep toe and a wrap around ankle strap set atop a natural wood platform with a 5.5" stiletto heel, and will pick them up at Baker's tomorrow after work. So, I made sure I redid my toes with fresh polish and clear overcoat because I want my feet to look their best. The manager told me that she has the "Angeline" which is the same shoe with notches cut into the sole which creates a zigzag effect. She wanted me to see them and complemented me on my choice. The shoes will go with a black mini-dress with tan trim and are definitely about the most eye-appealing shoes I have ever bought

Those are impressive, for sure. Very nice! ;)

  4. No one here can read anybody's minds, or diagnose TRUE motivations.

    Frodo

It seems like some guys protesteth too much.;)

    Frodo

    ROFLMAO!

Thank you Frodo, for providing me with a good laugh today. Priceless!

  5. I agree with others as well. Very nice wedge perfect for summer time :winkiss:

Will you wear them with jeans, shorts or maybe capri's ?

Do they tend to "slip out" of your feet while walking ?

Thanks! I'll probably wear them with jeans. They don't slip at all, and seem to go with jeans quite well.:silly:

  6. Heh heh, I like your comeback to the kid asking about your skirt. I bet the look on his face was priceless, both before and after! :winkiss: Daring look for sure, I don't think I'd be able to pull it off, but thanks for sharing!

  7. HappyFeat summed it up nicely. I have also had good experiences at Baker's and Macy's. Stores like those tend to have pricier shoes, and hence, more commission for the sales staff. If they make good commission, they don't want to risk offending anyone, especially if you go there multiple times and they recognize you. Still, it's nice when they seem genuinely enthusiastic about making a sale without any concern about me being a guy. Even better when they make comments that sound genuine and not just because they were looking for something to say. I forget who on this forum mentioned it, but they had said they asked one associate if they got many men buying women's shoes, thinking they were the only one, and the associate said that they did actually get men trying them on for themselves. I can say that more often there's no question of who I'm buying them for, and rarely do I get one who asks "Are these for your wife/girlfriend?". Then again, maybe I should take HappyFeat's approach and buy shoes while wearing heels more often. That should pretty much eliminate any question :winkiss:.

  8. Probably the most helpful sales lady I encountered was at Aldo. There was a pair of wedge sandals I liked, and when I asked for my size, she came back and said they only had an 8. Without missing a beat, she had already figured out they were for me and asked if I would l like to try the 8 anyway. She asked if I needed a foot sock, but I had brought mine. We both agreed that they were a little small, but she thought they looked nice. So she went over to her computer, and found out the 9 was still available for order. She took the order, gave me the phone number to call to check on the status, and even commented that she was jealous that I had small feet since she wore a 10. Certainly she didn't act like it was unusual for a guy to be buying heels, seemed encouraging of it, hoped I enjoy them, told me to come back if they end up too big, and said to come again soon.

  9. Check this out. Who really needs this kind of grief?

Subtle is a much better approach. I don't see the need for any adult male to purposely annoy someone else.

    Frodo

Frodo, for as many times as you keep preaching that it's wrong to annoy people by wearing unusual things, did it ever occur to you that maybe the folks who wear what they want are not intending to annoy anyone, but maybe just trying to be individuals and wearing what they like? Maybe you don't like what they wear, and maybe you are turned off by it; but what's the old saying? "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I wear heels because I like them. I don't wear them thinking "Boy, I sure hope I cause somebody to grimace because they can't stand the sight of a guy in heels". Women wear flamboyant things too, and they actually do try to get a rise out of guys by doing so. :winkiss:

I will agree court probably was not the right place for that though. A woman wearing "loud" clothing wouldn't be taken very seriously either.

  10. I think it is becoming more tolerant. Last week I ordered a pair of 5" Stilettos for Aldo on Tuesday. The Manager knows me and thinks it kind of cute that I wear Heels. On Wednesday she called and told me the heels were in to which I replied "I'll pick them up tomorrow morning.". She said thanks and said I'll see you tomorrow.

When i arrived; the Manager was not in, called in sick. The two young ladies at the stores asked if they could help and I told them I had ordered some shoes. The Ass't Manager went out back and retrieved them and asked if I want to try them on to make sure they fit. "YES" was my reply. She opened the box and upon seeing they were stilletoes said "OH MY" the other sales girl helped remove the packing and said they were sexy and should look great on my feet. Which they did! Both girls complemented my feet in heels and told me I walk quite well in 5" heels better than they do. Made my day. A few years ago that episode would have received snickers and other not so well received comments.

Have a good High Heel Day everyone

    Henri

    :winkiss:

Good experience, Henri. Thanks for sharing. I have found the sales people at Aldo to be very helpful, even when I'm buying shoes from "the other side" of the store. One lady even said she was jealous because she wears a size 10, and my feet were smaller than hers.

  11. johnnie heel...i hate you!!...lol...just kidding. sometimes i wish i had a womens size 10 or less so i could collect more boot, but then i would be divorced and living an trailer(my apologies to those living in one...i might be in one some day myself...lol). so its best that i dont have smaller feet. i am a womens size 14 or 15...depending on how the sizing goes. and to answer the question if i did have smaller feet...i would pass on the designer models. i still would like to splurge on a pair of jean gaborits tho...man o shevitz...i would love a pair of those..

    Hee hee. I guess I shouldn't say that I usually wear a women's 8.5-9. :winkiss:

  12. Actually Bubba, most of my outings have been at the mall. It's more recently that I've gone to smaller venues. I was a little surprised my hair stylist didn't say anything at all. I wore some thong wedges last summer and she commented "Got your flip flops on today? It sure is a nice day for it". Oh well. I guess the important thing was gaining more courage from the experience, and being happy with what I like to wear. :winkiss:

  13. Today I really felt like wearing my heels, and I had a haircut this evening. I was a bit nervous because all my outings so far have been out in public amongst strangers, but this time the folks at the salon I go to would see them, as would the lady who has been cutting my hair for a while. I was jittery driving over until I said out loud to myself "What's the worst that will happen? They might laugh!". Funny how that works to alleviate your fears. Turns out there was not a thing to worry about. No laughs, no crooked smiles, no strange looks. Sure, I had some folks look, and I could tell that eventually my hair stylist must have seen them as she was taking the cape off. I was wearing the shoes in my avatar, dark trouser socks, black dress pants, and a rust colored dress shirt.

  14. Today I wore a pair of black mary janes, gray dress pants, and my lavender and white dress shirt. I went over to the Verizon store, because I was there Sunday and talked to an associate about a possible upgrade to a smart phone, but found out I didn't have any upgrade perks yet. The Blackberry and extra fees weren't worth it, but he did ask who I worked for, since some companies offer a discount for their employees. Turns out I could get an 8% discount, but since I didn't have any business cards, entry card, or some means of proving I worked there, I had to return. I will say I like the dress code they have there. Most of the female associates had some nice heels :winkiss:. One lady turned around to keep an eye on me as I walked back to their service counter. They got me squared away, and now my wireless bill will be 8% less starting today. Woo hoo! After that, I went over to Barnes & Noble to browse through the board games. They have a Beatles edition of Monopoly that caught my attention. Still thinking about that one, but to really make it worthwhile I might have to have some friends over for a game night or something. I went over to grab a coffee at the cafe, and the lady behind the counter seemed very pleasant to talk to. The other lady ahead of me glanced, but when I smiled back she seemed pretty uninterested.
