  1. Holy Cow!! I was so off the mark on my response to this or I have changed so much to render what I wrote meaningless! I wrote that: 1) I was not into open toe sandals; 2) I was not into painting my toe nails, and; 3) I was wearing pointed toe heels. So, just today, I was wearing a pair of open-toe espadrilles sandals but my toe nails were not polished (which I having been doing during the summer to wear with open-toe sandals) and I have started moving away from pointed to heels/points as they usually have a narrower toe-box. Thus, in order to compensate for such, I will usually get a 1/2 to full size large and if needed, attach heel backers. I have also started to pass on very cute pointed toe heels knowing that no matter what size I may purchase, the shoe/boot simply will not ever properly fit my foot/feet. Shoe - LC by Lauren Conrad.

  2. I may well have posted these before, as I have owned them for a year and a half. However, it wasn't until this week that I wore them for real. May I present my Schutz Ottavia mules, featuring a 4 1/4" wedge heel that is fairly narrow at the back, measuring a mere 7/8" wide. I chose these sandals to go along with my church outfit last week, but I vetted them the week before, to make sure I wouldn't regret my fashion decision halfway through the church service. Before I wore these very nice looking mules to a public venue, I vetted them with a 1 1/2 mile walk, which is a little longer than normal. The only problem I encountered was that my right little toe had a bad habit of sneaking outside the multiple thin straps. After several adjustments, I got that problem under control, and a few days later, I decided to make these sandals the focus for my church outfit. It turns out they were so comfortable that I kept them on for all of Sunday (was super lazy and didn't do any yardwork). Alas, I was on the phone with a old friend from university Sunday night, pacing back and forth, and I noticed something was amiss. A strap had broken. After careful examination and from past experience, there ain't no fixing that. Since it took me a year and a half from purchase date to actually wearing them, I guess I didn't love them all that much anyway. An early farewell to my new sandals.

  3. I am late posting this, but here is last week's church outfit of the week. I wore my Schutz wedges, which is a first for me in a couple of ways. Firstly, I've never worn white sandals before in public, and secondly, although I've owned these for a couple of years, this is their maiden voyage. Unfortunately, it is also their only voyage, as a strap broke later in the day, and there ain't no repairing that. I'll post more about that misadventure elsewhere.

  4. I still do not understand to this day why some people think that you have to have painted toenails to wear sandals. It seems to be a common fashion "must." Like Cali says, I will never say never, but I don't really like it. I give myself a pedicure every other week, but leave my toenails (and fingernails) bare.

  5. I know of that shop, this was sky-scrapers.co.uk, and my last order was 2016.

  6. I think they made a mistake when UGGS were made. It was supposed to say UGLY. I do hope had I been born sans pecker that would never wear anything that ugly!

  7. Hi everyone. It's me, Prima. I've avoided joining any interwebs groups for decades, but lately I felt the need to reach out to see if there are others that share the same unique love for high stiletto heeled boots as I. It was only a few months ago that I was having a conversation with my cousin after purging my closet that day of items from a past lifetime. I told him that I was sad to see some of my favs from the '90s and early 2000s bagged up for the local donation box. Especially my stiletto heeled boots 😭. Out of curiosity and for nostalgic giggles, he asked to see the bag of clothes and laughed when he saw all the stiletto heels that poked holes through the plastic. I laughed with him and told him that I decided to no longer wear extremely high heels now that I am nearing 50 and avoiding unnecessary health risks, but it was fun while it lasted. We continued to laugh about our past lives which revealed many things that we had in common from classic movies and old animated cartoons. At the end, he convinced me to keep my boots and other outfits for a fun project that he and I could work on as part of our bucket list. But I told him that he had to store my old clothes at his place so that my husband doesn't give me any excuses when it is his turn to purge out all the junk that he is still hanging on to 😜 Fast forward to today, and here we are. High stiletto heeled boots in perilous action! So I am excited to interact with you all and perhaps I can shed a new perspective in this love that we all have for high heels ❤️ Bye for now, Prima

  8. Yes walking 200m gracefully in Hot Chicks is quite an accomplishment. I cannot imagine achieving that myself - I shall be delighted to walk gracefully in my 12cm stiletto boots. Speaking of which I had an amusing episode this morning, when I got up and put in my stiletto boots to start my workday. I get up very early - typically 4am - since that is my most creative time. I’d left my stiletto boots by my kitchen table, ready to put on in the morning. Now, I have three pair of stiletto boots - one is quite a luxurious OTK pair in black Nubuck suede with 9cm heels. The other two are the same style in Italian Heels, their Tina model. One is in black leather with 10cm heels, the other is in very dark brown leather in 12cm heels. I thought I had put in my 12cm ones this morning and was happily congratulating myself in a major breakthrough. To be sure I was only traipsing around my boat, but doing it was an ease I’d never imagined myself managing in 12cm stilettos. I was really quite chuffed - bring on the Hot Chicks! I did a lot of extra walking around, just to enjoy this breakthrough all the more. Had I been moored ina more heel friendly location I’d have gone for a celebratory stroll. Alas, I discovered I had mixed up my boots and was wearing my 10cm stilettos, not the 12s. Back to beginners again ….

  9. To be fair, I'm not out there walking in Hot Chicks. At this time, I cannot even imagine walking even 200 meters in something that steep. As many know, I never wear stilettos to walk, simply because they wear out too fast. When I say it takes me half a mile to get my rhythm (some days), I'm typically wearing something like this: Thicker heel, somewhere around 10 cm height difference once you subtract for the platform. The trouble is getting from there to 12 cm stilettos (or in my case, evidently 12.7 cm).

  10. ...but totally worth it!!!! Noe 88 Colors (out of The Netherlands) was having a stock-up sale during the month of August. Buy one pair and receive a 20% discount, two pairs and 30% discount, and three pairs for a 50% discount. Well, as I adore their styles and colors, I got a bit carried away by buying three different pairs in three separate orders. Noe footwear is not necessarily "designer" heels but they are made from genuine Italian leather. As it took about three weeks for each individual package to arrive, the wait for them to arrive was agonizing! It is said that all things come in threes or that the third time is a charm - I guess this is true! Sadly, Noe may not be able to ship to the U.S. for a while as the Dutch Post Office is no longer accepting packages for shipment to this country because of issues that have arisen from the recently impose tariffs. I cannot speak for other companies such as DHL, UPS, or FedEx, so, I guess I will just have to go there to get my next pair which will be in December!

  11. Half a mile, I just looked that up, that's 800 meters. I'd be way out of rhythm in my Hot Chicks after 800 m 😂 On the weekend it was more like 200 m one way and that was enough. Yes, it's way more difficult wearing them outside when you got to get somewhere, but also way more exciting. And it's a good feeling when you know that you you can handle a bit of walking without becoming too uncomfortable. So I actually can use them for a few opportunities. Of course I'll keep you updated!

  12. I supposed it's like any other skilled activity--you'll have days where you think, "I think I finally know what I'm doing!" And then there will be days when you think, "I feel like I've never done this before." Not every time, but many times I feel like I don't get into a rhythm until about a half mile down the road. This does seem to be a big step because like I've said for years, one can't learn how to walk by doing dishes and sweeping the floors at home. Eventually, one has to step out in the real world of less-than-perfect walking surfaces. Please do keep us updated on your progress (and/or your setbacks).

  13. I think most scale their heel heights, but I can't tell for sure because I'm close to the standard size anyway. Last week I wore my Hot Chicks twice at home, and yesterday took the chance to wear them out. At home I didn't really feel any difference yet, but yesterday was kind of an success. They felt a little more comfortable and it also was the longest distance I ever walked in them. At the end they got really uncomfortable, but I'm glad I wore them out once again and very motivated to do it again soon 🙂
