  1. Yesterday
  2. And cycling at the gym is probably a big part of why you still can rock skinny jeans and boots!
  3. Yup that’s my reason for wearing skinny jeans - I like knee and OTK boots and how else to wear them? Shorts I just don’t do unless I’m cycling or at the gym
  4. Nothing like turning a table cloth into a suit.
  5. At 69 I still wear my skinny jeans and short shorts. How else can you wear you boots on the outside. However, I have recently obtained a few non-skinny pants. Now if only I can find some decent looking sandals.
  6. I was 56 once …. But I wear skinny jeans and chunky heeled ankle boots / indeed that is what I am wearing right now - and I will continue to wear them !
  7. You have taken good care of yourself, and look great in skinny jeans and shorts...
  8. I can dig the shoes. Some times you want to wear girls shoes but don’t want to look like you’re wearing girls shoes. But the suit? If I wore that, authorities would have me committed.
  9. OK, I think I understand what you were getting at...I thought you meant Harry was wearing some sort of outrageous heels like you see on runways, but it would seem you mean the exact opposite! Kind of like Harry is just dipping one little toe into the heel pond instead of dipping his whole foot in it. Harry's outfit in this pic surely looks like some idiot picked it out for him, hideous! The heels look dumb also...
  10. Why would you ever want to quit wearing skinny jeans and shorts? You are never any older than your body lets you feel and your mind thinks you are. Take my case. In my mind I still have the desire to wear very tall heels but my body won’t tolerate my wearing them. So, at 68, I am content to wear what I can and “go with the flow,” thankful I’m still here to do it.
  11. Not a lot to say this week. The Asian festival is over, everything is packed up and back home. The second day I wound up wearing my Bruno Magli blue suede wedges both for setup and teardown. We got back home at midnight, and then I had to get up too early to prepare for church. I feel like I keep repeating myself, and this week's picture is not all that great.
  12. https://www.harpersbazaar.com/celebrity/red-carpet-dresses/a9645702/harry-styles-heels/ I don't know if this link is going to work, but here is an example of what I'm talking about. Those aren't heels! Not really.
  13. It is true that many of our active members here are More Experienced. In fact, at 56, I may be a little on the young side. Nevertheless, I sometimes worry about silly things, like whether I need to quit wearing skinny jeans and shorts.
  14. Last week
  15. White go go boots are on top of my wish list for sure... Not as long as we can still rock it in heels!
  16. Wow, missed this. Those are beautiful heels. Watch out, you're turning in to the pumps guy. Join the club
  17. Beginning to think we are grey hairs here. Site should be call GERIATRIC HEELS FOR MEN
  18. I’m older than you. I was at university during the clog era, my interest in alternative footwear had its origins some years earlier, around 1969, with go-go boots - how I wished I could have s pair of those! I would have liked a pair of clogs too back in the day, although never as much as I wanted a pair of shiny white go-go boots
  19. Unfortunately, this seems to be the case. Most times, when I compliment a guy in heels, I am usually working and only wearing my regulation cowboy boots. Nine times out of ten, the response is a very muted "thanks", with no interest in further conversation. I "get it" and understand, my compliment could be interpreted as "creepy", the guys are probably not interested in drawing any attention to themselves, especially from this old fart. So, for me, I still compliment guys in heels, but have no expectations of any response and am not upset by it....
  20. For sure. Normal looking heels, not the crazy stuff seen on runways that most would want to wear. I've seen Harry in a few pairs, they all seemed pretty tame to me, would be interesting to see pics in the heels you are referring to....
  21. I have no idea how much such shows influence pop culture. I haven't owned a TV for 12 years, and I haven't watched any kind of series for much longer than that. I will say that at least his heels are real heels, unlike those of some other male stars (Harry Styles comes to mind). In other words, even if he hadn't pointed it out, one would kind of notice that he's wearing heels. Even at that, they aren't crazy, and they go with the rest of the outfit.
  22. Our family, along with three other families, took a trip to Chicago nearly six years ago. I wore heels the entire trip despite the tremendous amount of walking we did. None of the girls even attempted, even though it seems like something they would have done when they were younger. What is your secret for endurance in heels?
  23. That's what people always think, init? My wife would not answer in such a way, she would say something to the effect of, "he is super-crazy!" But ever since the Chicago trip back in 2018, she never questions my choice.
  24. As it turns out, my presence was not really needed after the setup and settling in. I was only there for about 3 hours in the morning and a couple right around closing up time (10 p.m.). I wore some Bebe wooden heeled sandals with an effective 3 3/4" heel, and they didn't bite back. I was actually rather glad to have them when it came time to open up the side wall of our tent, as I am barely tall enough to reach the hooks. Their one inch platform with 4 3/4 inch heel gives me an effective 3 1/2 inch boost in height. Perhaps today I will choose some type of shoe with a really big platform for that very reason. Nah, probably not. Today I will have my son with me, and he will be my effective boost in height. One person said something to me the entire time I was there, and it was some random 20-something woman, who simply smiled at me and said "Fabulous!"
  25. Oh yeah! I remember the clogs now that you mention it. But that was a thing when I was somewhere around 10 years old. I'm sure I noticed such things at that age, but my preference for heels did not fully form until several years later. I know I never cared for the giant disco platforms of Saturday Night Fever. I rather liked the Dr. Scholl's exercise sandals, which were also everywhere during the Clog Era. Both on college campuses and the elementary school classroom.
