Should I Move

There may be a chance for me to move back the mountains. Oooh. I just thought about how hard it might be to walk in heels there.

Anyway. It won't be more money. In fact I will have to pay for my move. The bad thing about staying here is my boss is leaving. I like him and you never know what we may get.

the bad thing about going is pretty much everyone here knows I wear heels and I would have to go through all the "looks" if I moved. Down in my shop I don't try to hide them. Out with others I work with I am a little more careful. There are still a few I would rather they did not know.

I could see the reflection of one of the girls really checking my shoes out but she never said anything. I think people are afraid of getting fired.

We really like the mountains and would like to retire up there.

I could just see me trying to walk down a hill in 4 inch heels. Ain't happnin.

I don't think my wife would like the fact that heels are one of the reasons I would not want to move.

Look at it this way.

You can establish yourself in a new area as a heel wearer from the start. At the same time the people around you will be getting an education in regards to guys wearing heels.

Shafted, the boots that is! View my gallery here http://www.hhplace.o...afteds-gallery/ or view my heeling thread here http://www.hhplace.org/topic/3850-new-pair-of-boots-starts-me-serious-street-heeling/ - Pm me if you want fashion advice or just need someone to talk to.

Good advice, Shafted! In fact, I'm doing just that. My wife and I are moving out of our house in the village (31 years) and into a cottage at a local retirement community in a rural setting. We've been really well accepted there, and we are so impressed with how well run the place is. From the start I've been wearing clogs and sandals with stacked 3 to 3.5 inch heels, many of which are definitely not masculine. Most people haven't paid attention, and I haven't seen any iDrops. But then, I haven't acted self-conscious and looked either. I've just been my confident self and had fun wearing what I wanted to wear. It would be more challenging, I'm sure, if my passion were stiletto heeled platform sandals, but it's not. I'm quite happy with thicker, sturdier heels, and I can't walk in anything much higher than 4 inches anyway. The main thing is, I'm having fun wearing heels every day!

Well, I'm sure not in any position to advise you buddy.  I'm assuming you will be retiring when you move up to the mountains.  If not, maybe you might want to wait and see how the new boss works out, might be OK

HEELS2U,   I don't know how old you are and how close to retirement age you are now. There may a distinct advantage in waiting to see what the new boss is like before making such a move. It really may be worth the effort to give whomever a fair chance. If it goes better than you thought then you'll be walking tall at a lower elevation for a while longer. If you don't like the new boss then at least you'll have the knowledge you gave it a chance and then relocate to those mountains you love.

Shafted has a great point though. If you move to the mountains then you can establish yourself as a mountain-loving, environmentally-conscious, nature-loving, and heel-wearing resident. Live life on YOUR terms!!      HappyinHeels

Yes moving is always a big decision and the pros and cons of the move if it were to happen. I can say that living in the mountains does reduce my time in heels because of snow in the winter and lack good surfaces to walk on in heels. But going to bigger centers often I get plenty of chances to go heeling. The choice of footwear is also different, I have plenty of boots and cooler weather footwear but less of sandals and pumps. Just part of the environs. But as Happyinheels stated, Live life on your terms!
