Cos my fingers are too short, he replied, i cant reach the black notes. THey sacked me. I said, thats unfair. He said, i know. Can you help me? I thought for a bit, then i had an idea. If you wore heels, you'd be higher up and nearer the keys, i suggested. I tried it, it didn't make a big difference, he replied, showing me his 8" heels. I thought again. Why dont you have false nail extensions, i asked, your fingers will be longer! I have, he replied, showing me his 9" nails. I can still only reach the white notes with them on. Look ! Well, i said, why don't you go into the bar instead of trying to reach the piano across the street.... No, he said, i don't drink. unlike moi.... the next person will be sober....
