In the uk we have this (imo) really crap supposedly funny tv show called "Just For Laughs"....like a REALLY REALLY bad version of candid camera. anyway... tonight one of the mid - last senarios was a guy in a suit, in a shoe shop trying on high heels...the hidden tv camera shows about 80% of the people they filmed literally laughing their asses off or looking at the guy like he was someone who had just escaped from a mental home... anyone else see it?? J.

nope, wish i did though, I usually watch it, I have to say though....... it is not as bad a show as you make out. anybody with a window xp machine might be able to go to channel 4's website, there is an 'on demand' section where you would be able to see the show again Nigel.

That show's a bit of a con actually. If they do a stunt and don't get enough "laughers and gawkers" they cut them in from other gags. Last night they did one where the fishmongers kept hiding from the customers and there was a couple of cutaways to people laughing who weren't even in the supermarket! Also, why is it that the marks don't see the cameras?

Well, he's behaving like a clown, so why wouldn't they laugh at him ?

Absolutely. He's prancing around obviously trying to be funny and playing up the shoes. Most of we guys could get laughs too if we acted that way.

Have a happy time!

That must be the cip...And I actually find it disturbing... It's a crying shame that they have to make men in heels look like fools...I too would have been laughing...If I didn't wear heels myself!! That guy was TOTALLY hamming it up!! Now, I would like to know what the reactions would be if he were trying a pair that he intended to wear and was serious about it...I bet not so many people would be making funny faces if he wasn't!! It's all a shock value gimmick from what I saw..."Hey!! Look at me!! Hamming it up in WOMEN'S SHOES!!! They're NOT FOR ME...I just wanted to make you laugh a bit!! For the hidden camera!! That way the whole world will know you're gullable!!!" Please...That's not anything we need if we're trying to make men in heels a fashion reality...It's not reality TV...It's goof-off TV...Hence, the title of the show. IMHO, the best TV spot I've seen with men in heels was the Pierre Silber commercial that was posted here a few months back...Just another guy, out walking his dog, wearing his heels proudly and socialising with the gals about them :-) Heels are for whoever wants to wear them. They're NOT just for women anymore!! Too bad shows like this have to pervade this fact and continue to instill that it's a joke...With these displays being done men in heels will never be accepted as anything other than a guy out for a laugh, resulting in the continued sterotypes that are commonly used when someone does something differently than what society deems 'normal.' JM2Cents on it... Happy Heeling!!

"Heels aren't just for women anymore!!" Happy Heeling! Shoeiee

Don't worry, the times I've tried heels on in shops with no adverse reaction whatsoever...

That's what I call a weird guy high heeler. We normal guys wearing heels are executive guy high heelers (stole the line and changed it a bit from Eddie Izzard)! I'd also laugh my ass off if I'd see that. He also had terrible taste, white heels and a dark business suit, peh!

It is though just a prank intended to look ridiculous and it is. You can make ANYTHING normal look ridiculous. You could go to the restaurant and once you receive your food, just stick your head in the plate and suck it like a pig. I guarantee people will make the same faces they made while watching that guy try on his heels. Then again, you probably go to the restaurant and eat like a normal human being and receive no attention whatsoever.

It's all a matter of how you present yourself. If people see you are completely natural and comfortable while asking tot try a pair of heels in the store , people would hardly notice or give a "$%#@"

Exactly right Maximillian, anything can be turned to the ridiculous if you take it to extremes.

He was so narrow minded he could see through a keyhole with both eyes.

While I don't always try on heels in the shop, not least because I buy a lot of stuff on ebay, the times I have done I've had no reaction at all from the other customers or the staff. The last time was a pair of pointy stiletto heeled knee boots in Faith on a busy Sunday afternoon. As I was having a bit of a walk in them I had a glance round at the other shoppers, all of whom were busy with their own shopping. Chris
