Thoughts from the World Heel Meet on May 13 2006

I went to London for the World Heel Meet

With my trusty wedges upon my feet

I arrived there rather late

As to Heathrow Airport I had to deviate.

We all met up near Oxford Street

No finer people could I meet

Heelers from Britain, Germany, Netherlands were all there

More heelers from USA and Argentina sat in the square

Kneehighs used his camera to capture the moment

When we 20 all met for the first instant

20 heelers upon the town

Trying to wear those prejudices down

After meeting we decided to shop

Thence to Topshop, our first stop

Loads of heels to be savoured

Sadly nothing would be favoured

Time for dinner we finally agree

So to Restaurant Paradiso we all flee

All you can eat for six pounds fifty

We decide that’s rather nifty

We all soon feel rather jolly

Although no-one can beat the appetite of Polly

Three trips to the buffet she is able

To eat the rest of us under the table

After coffee we all depart

Tearful farewells and kisses as we part

The heel meeters go their separate ways

Thoughts enriched for future days

At kneehighs’ Novotel, we all cheer

But the champagne looks rather queer

Red champagne, surely not

Sorry folks, that’s all they’ve got

At the end of the night we received a thrill

When Louis came back, dressed to kill

Tight pants, corset, silver heels, O what a sight

He’s really hitting the town tonight

All too soon we must leave

We’ll meet again soon I believe

So here’s to the next heel meet

Wearing those boots upon the street

Calv (who was inspired by Tara's poetry and decided to write this after a night in the pub)

Do your own thing. Don't be a victim of conformity.

As it's creative writing, couldn't I be creative and pretend I went and write about that to try to win the prize? Love the poetry Calv :roll:

He was so narrow minded he could see through a keyhole with both eyes.

Excellent start Calv! red champagne? surely not? Shyguy Im sorry but I think we will have to limit the competition to those who we all met at the heel meet, as it seems only fair to those who came from Holland, America, Argentina etc, especially for the occasion. x x Mwah x The Peach

hallo, thanks to a offer a price at the shop Mel and Heelfan. I guesing a lot of member who show up, told there story in the other capitel of this heelmeet. A few of us are more creative in how to put every thing in wordts than others and light up there story with there picture. It's a shame when everyting is copied from one capitel to the other. The main this is; is was a great succes to meet the members from different countrise and even to talk to. And the support of the hole group while walking in publick. The take from some of us to put there experience to the rest is nice. Even when you both put is a stimulation price as a promtion of the shop, many thanks. I hope a few contributions are still coming and will you make it differcult to toughe from who gets the price. Good luck in finding a winner and we hope to know who will be the lucky one. good luck and go well on you heels a3

Attention: Spirited World Heel Meet Attendees: Testimonial Constest Deadline is June 13th...

FREE pair of shoes from Peachy shoes to Winner

With respect to World Heel Meet attendees who were unable to access the internet for personal reasons, 30 days seemed like a reasonable amount of time to write up a testimonial on the World Heel Meet 2006 and how it affected you. We were going to wait until all entries were in, but that could be a time waste. Thus, the 30 day deadline. Remember, Peachy and kneehighs will be deciding the winner soon. So submit your testimonial now before it's too late.

The following attendees have added their testimony already. If you

#1: Tara

I went up to the London meet;

We all met up in Oxford Street;

There were twenty heelers there;

You should've seen the public stare;

:o

Heelfan of course was wearing heels;

And brought Jo and Peachy in his wheels;

Xaphod turned up rather late;

'cos he'd gone to meet Kneehighs, his mate;

8)

Euchrid, Shakedown, Dougal and Si;

Helped make the time fly swiftly by;

Heelius made the gang complete;

Like us he was wearing heels on his feet;

:o

We looked for Micha and A3;

But they had gone quite wrong you see;

Along with Jan they'd got lost;

And had to wait, that was their cost;

:wink:

First we met in a certain caff;

And sat around and had a laugh;

After which we got some grub;

Then sat outside a local pub;

:drinking:

We tried to pull out all the stops;

And went around the local shops:

I tried on heels and here's the news;

I bought nothing, not even shoes!

:roll:

Fogborkenvy brought his missus;

And introduced her to all of us;

They had met Xa at Waterloo;

Then came along to join us too:

:D

While the rest were getting their heely fix;

Firefox did some magic tricks;

Calv then found himself in luck;

And found a place to park his truck;

:D

Can't remember the names of the rest;

But for being great guys they were the best;

We had some laughs, we had some food;

And magic tricks, (some almost good);

:cry:

Then it came time to say goodbye;

With heavy heart I had to fly;

All the way home I was feeling bad;

'Cos to leave so soon was really sad!

second post by Robert

...About a month ago I decided to go to the meet, because the number of attendees was growing and the nationalities became divers. I thought this was going to be a special meet, and it has been.

I booked my flight and hotel on the internet and couldn't wait to go to London again.

Friday the 12th I stood up early to go to Schiphol Airport with the taxi. Being there I checked in easily and once through the customs I had plenty of time to take a cup of coffee.

The airplane departed on schedule and landed in London about the same time I departed because of the time difference (1 hour).

The ride to central London I did with the Tube. Another hour later I checked in the hotel and I could hit the streets.

On Oxford Street I bought a sandwich and a drink and went that afternoon to Brantano, Barratts, Faith, Magnus, Evans, to name a few. Well, a few, one afternoon is much too short to go to all, especially when you go by foot and by Tube.

At home I saw in the online catalog of Evans a pair of sandals with wedge heels which caught my eye. I wonder if they were still there. When I was there (three outlets on Oxford Street !!), only size 7s and 8s were left and one 9. The 9 was too small so I was a little disapointed. But o.k., the heelmeet next day was my goal and I sat my mind on that.

That evening the Guinness tasted delicious and I went early to bed.

I could sleep out and the saturday began a little cloudy and a bit chilly and I went on my way to the Starbucks Coffee House on Oxford Street as announced at the beginning of this thread. When I sat there I wondered why there was no sign of people with heels, let alone people with familiar faces.

Suddenly someone came came up to me and asked if I came for the heelmeet. Euchrid introduced himself and asked the same, why there wasn't more people. He would call outside with his telephone and beckoned that we had to look for another Starbucks. So us 2 to New Oxford Street where were other people of the group.

We got a cordial reception by Heelfan, Peachy, Tara, Jo, Shakedown, Si and after a big coffee and after Firefox and Heeluis came in, we went for the walk.

Oxford Street was great as always and we went shop in, shop out and finally we met Micha, Jan and A3 (pronounced Adree, it's the shortening language of today). Firefox came back and the group was complete so far.

We went to Dune and stand there with the whole group in that small shop and I remember the salesgirl watched us breathlessly. I went to Evans again with Heelfan and Micha because of our big feet and to see if there was something in our size. Again I found nothing to suit my taste and again nothing of the sandals I was looking for.

We joined the group again and decided to go for lunch at McDonalds. We sat in the middle of the house and I saw some people looking at our shoes. Nothing was said and we went along.

After the fries and quarterpounders we went back on the street. In the mean time the weather was cheerful, the sun was shining and the temperature was pleasent. Micha changed his shoes in something significant higher and he must almost have been 7 feet tall.

Ravel came in sight and after that we started to enter Faith we had to change and went to the pub. We met there Mr. and Mrs. Fogborkenvv, had a drink and we were all awaiting Kneehighs, Xaphod and Calv. The reception was great and groupphotos were made.

I changed from my ankleboots with 3" heels in kneeboots with 4,5" heels. Heelfan took his measure and his conclusion was that I've been bolder. Well, maybe it's not the look, but more if I can handle a much more heelheight.

After a while, I think it was around 5 pm, we went back to Oxford Street where we decided to go to Top Shop. Some of us went downstairs and I asked Kneehighs advice on my look and we went shopping for jeans and all that. We didn't succeed but he gave some good advice! Look for pictures how you want to look and try to dress like that. I'm still busy with this but I have something in mind.

We met there Heel-D and again I saw a salesgirl looking our way that there were so much men wearing heels.

After a while the group was complete again and we went outside. Heelfan, Peachy and Jo had to go back home and we wished each other a save journey.

My feet were beginning to hurt badly and I had to change back to my ankleboots. What a relief.....

We got hungry and went to an Italian restaurant where we could rest our feet and tell more about ourselves or just talking about everything. By 8.30 pm I think we paid the bill and said goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Fogborkenvv, Tara, Micha and Jan and we went with the 8 of us to the hotel of Kneehighs and Heeluis.

Kneehighs ordered champagne but it was a delicious French red wine and we toasted on this remarkable day. We sat there talking and Xaphod told us the real story behind the disaster of the Ariane-5 rocket which exploded in the air.

After one more drink A3 and I went back to our hotels and I think we all could look back on this succesful day in the history of heelmeetings. With this thought I fell asleep.

Sundaymorning was chilly again and by 9 o'clock I was on the street again. I walked through an empty Carnaby Street and there wasn't much people on Oxford Street, this in contrast with the day before when it was very busy. I went to a Coffee House where I sat next to the window from where I could look out and watch people.

It must have been almost noon when the first shops were going open again. I waited till Evans went open (again) and went inside. To my surprise there was a size 10 of the sandals I was looking for and sat down and tried them. A great fit, put them off and I stood up and paid for them. (GBP 10,-!!) "At last", I thought and went to Top Shop where I bought a pair of skinny jeans. (GBP 35,-)

I found this day actually better than the day before and satisfied I went back to the hotel to check out, went to Heathrow Airport for the flight back and after the taxi-ride I could relax a few hours before I went to sleep because the next day I had to work again.

All in all a great weekend and I want to say thank you to all who attended the meeting, great to see again the complete Paris-group of 2 years ago and special thanks to Kneehighs for the organisation and the advice.

See you all a next time!

Robert

p.s. Here is a picture of the sandals I bought.

Yes it was a fun day. I came up to town with Mrs. F and because we didn't want to be up at the crack of dawn we decided to meet Xaphod and Kneehighs at Waterloo. The other reason we did that was becuase I had a makeover booked at the Army and Navy. That was fun, I was surprised that Mrs F didn't throw a major fit when I suggested it, and she was happy as long as she could come along and join in. It ended up quite subtle - I got it toned down as it started to look a bit like a panto dame - a woman of a certain age!

We duly met up with Xaphod and had a nice time chatting until Kneehighs arrived. Went up to the hotel and back down to Oxford St and met up with the others.

The day was low on shoe shops, we only went into one shop all day. That was fine by me. I'd much rather the socialising, I'm not a fan of shoe shopping mob handed, and with a crowd of fifteen or so there's plenty of scope for people getting lost. We completely lost everyone for about five minutes.

Some of us were starving, we'd had no lunch, so eventually we arrived at Paradiso Italian eat as much as you like buffet. Fine value and quality for £6.50 - and some of us ate as much as we liked.

I suggested to Xaphod that it would be a good central venue for a lunch time meet up, and promised to put a post in this part of the board about that - before I do I must work out when I can make it though.

All in all an enjoyable day for both of us. It was good to meet so many of you, the presence of a strong European contingent added so much to the day. Finally congratulations to Kneehighs for organising the day and for putting such a lot of effort in.

If only my English were better

To express, that it was great

All guys on heels - no matter

Believe me, thats straight!

Thanks to Heelfan and Kneehighs

For doing this troublesome job

Don't need to emphasize

This meeting was top!

OUCH :D

Dear forum members, please, don't whistle too loud. It's my first high speed poem in english. Just back from London since 2 hours. More prosa tomorrow...

Hi to all,

here my photo report of the London meeting! It's also a story about my first visit of London.

My friend Jan and me, we both have never been in England. The time was ripe to make up for. The Heel Meeting was a good opportunity to combine a common visit to London with my passion for wearing heels. We decided to go by train because there were only few cheap flights from Frankfurt to London. As railway fan I was keen on the passage through the "chunnel". Afterwards I must confess: no big experience, simply 20 minutes of darkness! Coming out of the tunnel the cars on the parallel motorway were driving all on the wrong side, the houses were built by red bricks and the chimneys had those typical tubes. Obviously we had arrived in England :D

The first challenge after the arrival in Waterloo station was the Underground transfer to our Ibis-Hotel in Euston. Not easy for novices to get the right ticket from the ticket machine without an embarassing jam behind us. The next problem were the barriers on the way to the platforms. Where to insert the ticket? And how to save my squeezed bag out of the two merciless wings :) ... but finally all went well. The check-in in our hotel was no problem and some hours later we passed the barriers like experienced "undergrounders".

It was late friday afternoon. We took the northern line southbound for a first excursion into the city. I think that these pictures were simply a tourist duty. The Tower bridge and the Tower

Posted Image

The next morning was a collection of misfortunes. At first we had to wait at least 15 minutes in a terrible long queue at the ticket machine. Just at 11 o'clock we arrived at Oxford Circus and hurried to Oxford street 124. Inside the La Plaza shopping mall we found a Starbucks-coffee-shop but it was nearly empty. No guys on heels. Shit, too late! What to do now? We went down again on the street hoping to find the crowd in one of the several shoe shops :oops: Suddenly a guy addressed me "Are you micha?" and he was wearing obviously high heels :P

Unluckily the odyssee went on. A3 was already waiting for more than a hour for the guys. At least we were now THREE but nobody of us had a mobile phone (mine was lying naturally in the hotel room *grrr*). We were running upwards and downwards the oxford street to find a telephone cell which was working, for calling Heelfan. We found fantastic internet phones with big displays but no reaction. Finally we found a good old british "steam telephone cell" which did its job. And finally contact with the group in the Starbucks in the NEW(!!!) Oxford Street 124.

Hmm - in my opinion there are too much Starbucks and too much Oxford Streets in London :lol: By the way: 50 meters away from our cell stood two cordonned off busses, a lot of police cars around and hundreds of courious people. Fortunately we weren't blown into air by islamic terrorists - probably somebody has forgotten only his shopping bag in the bus and fortunately we met finally the others. What a relief and a warm welcome by the guys!

First exploring of shoe shops. Later on we went together to a pub in the north of the Oxford Street to drink a beer and to become acquainted. I must confess, that I needed more than one beer to recreate from all this trouble :drinking: Heelfan did a big job with his mobile phone to navigate Kneehighs and his "reception committee" (Xaphod and Calv) from the Waterloo station to the meeting point. It was a big hello, when the guys were arriving.

Here a collection of snapshots which I have taken there

Are the others coming?

After the meeting in the pub further attacks on shoe shops in the oxford street took place. Having become hungry we joined in an italian pizzeria for an early eveneng dinner.

Unfortunately this day ended like it had begun. Chaotic! After that some members had left the meeting the rest of the group decided to continue the session in Euston. What shall I say, we lost the others in the shopping crowd on the Oxford Street :o We were not sure where the others intended to go. Was it the Novotel Euston? Back to our hotel my mobile phone didn't work. The battery was empty. And no chance to connect a continental charger with a british socket. We gave up ... some days in life are really like bewitched :oops:

Nevertheless it was a lot of fun :P

We spent our last day in the Hyde park and visited the Buckinham palace. Afterwards we discovered by accident the Carnabie Street and Chinatown in Soho. Very interesting. On our trip home to Frankfurt the train didn't run out off rails - luckily not all days in life are bewitched!

It's already late in the night and every story must have an ending. Here it is.

nice greetings

Report - World Heel-Meet, 13th May, London

Well, we didn't quite make the 21 hoped for by Kneehighs, due to the sad absence of FGWJON, Dougal and shakedown.

However let that not detract from the great fact that it was the all-time RECORD ATTENDANCE of 18 MEMBERS!:

Heel-D, Xaphod, Calv, kneehighs from New York, Tara, heeluis from Hamburg, fogborkenvv and Mrs. fogborkenvv, euchrid, Heelfan, Firefox, Peachy (Mel), Si, jo, Robert from The Netherlands, a3 from the Netherlands, micha from Frankfurt aND micha's friend from Germany.

It really is gratifying how amazingly the high heel movement is growing - over 2,500 members on Megaforums, and eighteen meeting in person for a street-heeling day!

We always say "Heels not compulsory", but all except one wore high heels, and some changed into a second or third pair as the day wore on. Micha turned up in pink cowboy boots, but later changed into a pair of sandals with stiletto heels so high that he actually hit his head on the ceiling of the escalator in Top Shop!

Due to the impressive size of the group, much of the time was spent welcoming new arrivers into the group, and waiting for the Waterloo Station group to join the main party. So unusually, although about five or six shoe shops were visited, I don't think any purchases were made.

The emphasis was more towards socialising, eating, drinking and chatting generally, with a running entertainment from Firefox who treated us to an array of magic tricks.

Soon after 5 pm, Peachy and I had to return to Bristol to enable Melanie to prepare her stocks of extreme heels for the Swamp Fetish Fair which was held in Bristol on the following day, but we trusted that the rest of the party would have a great evening.

Before we departed, Kneehighs asked all of the attendees to post reports of the Heel-Meets, very kindly saying that he would sponsor a prize for the best report, to be judged by him and me. The prize is a pair a shoes of the winner's choice from Mel's Peachy Shoes. Telephone Peachy Shoes

(0117 3309090) for details of her stocks.

So, all those who have not yet posted, please post your report! Those who wish to add to or replace their initial report, please post below!

All of us should extend a huge "THANK YOU" to Kneehighs, firstly for conceiving this world record Heel-Meet, and secondly for donating funds to

sponsor the winning pair of shoes prize for the best report.

Secondly, our thanks to Robert for posting excellent photos of the Meets, and to others who we hope will follow suit.

Cheers, Heelfan

Hi All

Well I turned up at Starbucks a little late at 11.45am since I managed to go Via Bank from Kings Cross. Don't ask how!

Still had time for a coffee though while meeting up with Heelfan, Shakedown, Tara, Mel, Jo, Euchrid, Robert, and Heel Luis.

We left Starbucks and apparently A3, Micha, and his mate had gone to the wrong Starbucks so Si and I wandered around trying to find them and we ended up going most of the way to Oxford circus before we finally phoned Heelfan who told us they had now met up with them. So we went back to the food court above Dune and met up with those three before finding a pub.

The pub was "The Cock" to the North side of Oxford street near Faith. Anyway we had a few drinks there and Knee Highs, Xaphod, and Calv joined us shortly. Also at the pub, Heel-D, and Mr.Mrs Fogborkenvv turned up too and then we were 18 I think.

After wandering around Top Shop and losing each other in the large group, Heelfan, Mel, and Jo had to leave but the rest of us continued to eat at the Italian Buffet place just near the pub north of Ravel. It was only £11.00 each including wine.

After that a few more left, but a group of us went back to the hotel at Euston for some more drinks and some of Knee High's "champagne" which turned out to be red wine from "champigny". Still it was alcohol, and we didn't look a gift horse in the mouth so we all enjoyed a nice bottle of that.

Heel Louis had a fabulous clubbing outfit which included waistcoat and black stiletto metal tipped boots. Knee High's Louis and Heel-D went off clubbing while myself, Si, Xaphod and Calv headed back to Kings Cross for the early bath. Actually I didn't get back till nearly midnight, so it was a long day but a very enjoyable one.

What's next then ?!

Hallo,

thanks for all those who had put time, labour and ideas in here to get this meeting started. And to all those members who had the courage, afford and time/money to come together.

Sorry that the start on saterday had some extra trouble, but coming from outside England on my one steam. I was on the shoutable place on the start. But for the locals they had meaning some different Starbuck, other street, same number and 300 m different. Having no mobiele I was felt a little lost. Lucky when leaving the place run in to Micha and friend. After some looking to shops and a phoning heelfan (in a box) founding the half group on the street.

That was a great relief for my. Seeing old faces and a other dutch heellover for the first time. After the talks, drinks and food going shopping. But staying together was a great adventure with a lot of shoeshops on short distance. Lucky we want more drinks and talking on big tables worked beter in this group. Now you get knowing each other better. and more members show up, big welcomes it look like a reunion.

Some pictures from the hole group were be taken and hopefull the will showup sometime. A look arround "Topshop" and then going eating at the Italian, a nice choise. A same but some had to leave allready.

Even later in the "Novotel Easton Hotel" a nice welcome by heelknight with the 1/2 group.

In here I could walk arround in my ballet boots, if my feet didn't had so much walking to do as we had done during the day. I know the heels are impresive, but able to walk in them is another challange. But perhaps with some stimualtion and courage I could walk in them and them show off.

But perhaps the next time.

Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

My cowgirl boots were even impressive with the 12 cm heels. I had them from http://stores.ebay.com/Celegance-Accessories or try www.celegance.com, a ebay shop from USA. But after all the walking I feel my feet very well. I broke my personal time record of walking in them for almost 12 hours. And went satisfied to my hotel later that evening. But here in Holland there is a sayend "who want to be beatifull, had to suffer".

And look forward whem to go to the next meeting in England or .... Here in Holland the (high)heels on the street are almost out of fashion. We can see up to 5 cm and sometimes to 8 cm and there its end. In England the ladies walks more on heels and hopefull they will contiu to do.

go in your heels

PS perhaps next time sent a print of the shop area where to meet

second post by a3

hallo London gangers,

it does my good that a lot of you are impressed about my 5" heels cowgirl boots. I almost forget the strains feelings in my feet when I starts walking in daily flat male shoes the next morning. and then remebers I toke the hole day a pair of balletheels boots with my to show them too. But I was't sure I had the courage to put them on in a open publick place. Later when we set down at the hotel we had a nice area there but then I don't want to get my feet in more trouble as they were allready. I am not sorry for it perhaps another time better.

here are a few, who likes it of small clips me at home while wearing balletheels. The clips are mostly avalible until 25 june 2006. On later date found perhaps a storings place for continuse watching them. But in the mean while enjoy the clips for the lovers of high (ballet)heels

Jan We didn't get to talk much, but I'm glad you accompanied Micha to the meet and hope you enjoyed the sights (heels and historic) as much as Micha did.

Heelfan Sometimes I wonder if you were the first freestyler ever, beginning at the age of 12 and regularly streetheeling at the ripe young age of 20? It was a pleasure talking with you on the phone and meeting you at last in person. Great all black outfit and round toe boots with a stiletto heel.

Peachy Pics don't do your beauty justice. I like the buttons on the cuffs of your sleeves.

a3 What can I say? Your brown 12cm heels you wore for 12 hours were amazingly high. And then at the Novotel when you pulled out your ballet pumps, that was interesting!

Calv I was worried with the change in your route that you weren't going to make it at all. Sadly, we didn't get to know each other that much, but perhaps at the next heel meet I can make we can talk more.

Xaphod Thanks for greeting me at Waterloo. I think I need to write down my lessons in "anglophonic vocabulary" you gave me. Do the pictures in your head move as fast as you walk in heels? Dang, you run! And yes you made it clear about your gratitude for the date chosen for the meet.

shakedown Great time talking to you at dinner. Your heels are so discrete, yet still heels---great balance.

Firefox So should England join the EU? And how did that foam rabbit come from Xaphods grey hair? Great andro cowboy boots too.

Tara We didn't even get to exchange polical philosophies! I was looking forward to that. It was still nice saying hello.

Si Wherever in the world you are at, Madagascar, or England, conversation with you I'm sure is delightful and interesting.

Mr and Mrs. Fogborkenvv Gosh, we had such a nice conversation at Waterloo and then at the Novotel...both of you are great and Fogborkenvv, your makeover looked phenomenal as well as your suit and love those thigh boots too. Mrs is so sweet.

heeluis Mi amigo de Hamburg que nacio en Argentina! Dos paizes muy bonitas! Working for a major fashion magazine, you of course looked stylish.

Micha!!! What a great time meeting you! Loved your bootcut jeans and your cowboy boots look too! You wore them both very well.

Robert :) My friend! How are your new outfits coming along? Hope you find that perfect pair of jeans and a great edgy top to compliment your "new" you! You looked good in the black t-shirt and jeans, but I'm sure with some work, you'll look even better.

euchrid we had some interesting conversations at dinner. Hope you and shakedown had a good time shopping after dinner.

jo Ya made it!! Nice meeting you.

Heel-D Were you trying to be fashionably late? Nice zippers on the jacket.

Thoughts from the World Heel Meet on May 13 2006

I went to London for the World Heel Meet

With my trusty wedges upon my feet

I arrived there rather late

As to Heathrow Airport I had to deviate.

We all met up near Oxford Street

No finer people could I meet

Heelers from Britain, Germany, Netherlands were all there

More heelers from USA and Argentina sat in the square

Kneehighs used his camera to capture the moment

When we 20 all met for the first instant

20 heelers upon the town

Trying to wear those prejudices down

After meeting we decided to shop

Thence to Topshop, our first stop

Loads of heels to be savoured

Sadly nothing would be favoured

Time for dinner we finally agree

So to Restaurant Paradiso we all flee

All you can eat for six pounds fifty

We decide that’s rather nifty

We all soon feel rather jolly

Although no-one can beat the appetite of Polly

Three trips to the buffet she is able

To eat the rest of us under the table

After coffee we all depart

Tearful farewells and kisses as we part

The heel meeters go their separate ways

Thoughts enriched for future days

At kneehighs’ Novotel, we all cheer

But the champagne looks rather queer

Red champagne, surely not

Sorry folks, that’s all they’ve got

At the end of the night we received a thrill

When Louis came back, dressed to kill

Tight pants, corset, silver heels, O what a sight

He’s really hitting the town tonight

All too soon we must leave

We’ll meet again soon I believe

So here’s to the next heel meet

Wearing those boots upon the street

Calv (who was inspired by Tara's poetry and decided to write this after a night in the pub)

Yeah, really enjoyed it. Was good seeing people from my last heelmeet (26th Jan 2002) and a whole bunch of new people. Look forward to seeing the pics. I'm hoping to arrange/come to an Oxford/Reading heelmeet soon. Managed to grab a pair of boots before one of the shops closed (see below) "Oh my God!" blurted the lady sales assistant as I tried them on LOL. Apparently she hadn't seen a bloke buy something from the ladies section before. As ever, it was entertaining watching the reactions of passers-by! I'd recommend anyone to come along to these heelmets as you couldn't get a more sound bunch of people.

My verdict on the Heelmeet (my first one too!):

It was great to meet so many forum members and put faces to the Usernames. As bruce forsyth might have once said – “what lovely people!”

I thought the day went really well. There were a few logistics problems (including my own when I started off in the wrong Starbucks – D’oh!) but Heelfan did a sterling job of rounding us all up. Kudos to him for maintaining a semblance of order during the day.

Some real laughs were had watching the reactions from the people who noticed the heel-wearers in our party. They ranged from disapproving tuts, eyes-raised-to-the-heavens, wry smiles and looks of complete bewilderment. Priceless! It was amazing though how many people didn’t notice anything. Talk about tunnel-vision!

The shopping was enjoyable. It was mostly just furtive browsing on my part as I’m still pretty green with it all. I almost got to try on a pair of boots late in the day but I couldn’t do up the b****y zip. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time.

The socialising was excellent, the topics of conversation jumping all over the place. Who says we're all obsessed with heels!?! We ate and drank pretty well too - lager in the afternoon and an eat-as-much-as-you-can Italian buffet in the evening. The perfect combo!

Thanks to Jo, Shakedown, Mel, Heelfan, Firefox, the fogborkenvv’s, kneehighs and to all you other attendees for making it a day to remember.

It was my first meet, but it definitely won’t be my last!

Yes, all went well.

I arranged to meet kneehighs at Waterloo station from the Paris Eurostar. Sitting on the balcony of the Reef Bar, I was surprised to see Fogborgenv and his wife joining me. Kneehighs appeared shortly afterwards and we went to Euston Novotel to book him in and drop off his luggage.

Kneehighs wondered about the Harvey Nichols ad on the tube, so we Brits had to explain subtlety to him. Oh, BTW, with the characteristic British subtlety comes the reticence. .... KH, your compliment about arranging the event for the 13th especially because I said I was free was noted and much appreciated, even if I didn't show it very obviously.

Lots of mobile phone calls later, the use of the expression 'where are you?' became tiresome after a while, organised the total meeting of 18 attendees outside a pub off Oxford street. After more drinking and group photos the need to feed became more pressing, especially in Fogborgenv's wife who has an impressively healthy appetite. We eventually repared to Paradiso, the Italian restaurant which we monopolised for the next couple of hours. They're normally used to me appearing there wearing heels for lunch, by myself, and were quite surprised to see a huge bunch of heelies there.

Fogborgenv suggested that we have informal lunch meetings there, in the week, every now and again. Yep, I'm up for that.

Various people departed to do some more shopping, but many returned to the Novotel bar for an evening relaxing. Louis needed to catch up on some sleep before some serious clubbing. OH WOW, Louis, that outfit you came back downstairs wearing, the corset, the jacket, the metal-tipped boots, you wear it well man.

I hope you night birds had fun on the town, but me, a country boy had had enough of the city racket for one day, so decided to wander home.

For those who want the pics, Kneehighs has plenty on his video camera, so I guess these will appear when he gets to somewhere he can download them.

Best wishes, all, in the hope that there are many more meets like this.

Here's my entry. This was originally in the other thread: I went up to the London meet; We all met up in Oxford Street; There were twenty heelers there; You should've seen the public stare; Heelfan of course was wearing heels; And brought Jo and Peachy in his wheels; Xaphod turned up rather late; 'cos he'd gone to meet Kneehighs, his mate; Euchrid, Shakedown, Dougal and Si; Helped make the time fly swiftly by; Heelius made the gang complete; Like us he was wearing heels on his feet; We looked for Micha and A3; But they had gone quite wrong you see; Along with Jan they'd got lost; And had to wait, that was their cost; First we met in a certain caff; And sat around and had a laugh; After which we got some grub; Then sat outside a local pub; We tried to pull out all the stops; And went around the local shops: I tried on heels and here's the news; I bought nothing, not even shoes! Fogborkenvy brought his missus; And introduced her to all of us; They had met Xa at Waterloo; Then came along to join us too: While the rest were getting their heely fix; Firefox did some magic tricks; Calv then found himself in luck; And found a place to park his truck; Can't remember the names of the rest; But for being great guys they were the best; We had some laughs, we had some food; And magic tricks, (some almost good); Then it came time to say goodbye; With heavy heart I had to fly; All the way home I was feeling bad; 'Cos to leave so soon was really sad! Dear Kneehighs, in my opinion You or Heelfan should win the award! Because of your engagement for the common meeting in reality and in the internet :wink: I didn't write my contributions because of hoping to win a pair of heels. I'm convinced that we all are thinking in the same way. We have written our reports only because we are simply conscientious offenders :roll: cheers micha

Hi all there! Sorry for turning up so late but , as some of you know, I was travelling to Southamerica for serious family reasons and just came back home last weekend. So here is the report of the german jury: The day started very well and quiet till I reached the airport and walking through the metal detector heard the alarm. The security guy tolme to stand and open my arms and started to check me. THen he went down to my brown 10cm heeled boots and was a little surprised. He asked me in a very educated manner to take them off and as he stood with them he smiled but said nothing. And I took this whole thing for normal and only smiled back with a "thank you" when he returned them to me. So I was in form for a nice heel-weekend. Coming into town was much easier than I thought. I had been only onde to London, it was for work and only for one night, and I had not a good memory of it, almost geting lost in the subway and almost geting mad when I got trapped with a non- working ticket, trying to get out of the victoria line to get in the train in the middle of the rush hour with noone near to ask for help... This time everything was fine and I reached the Novotel on time. (Room was exellent! Thanks Kneehighs! From there to Starbucks and a cup of tea. I found the group very heterogenic and that was nice: different ages, countries and taste. Was a pleasure to listen to heelfan. He has such a wonderfull english accent. I chatted with Tara and with Robert. I needed a little bit af warming cause I did not now anyone, After ages of trying to get contact to the lost ones we finally went down Oxford Street and met them. Well others have already told about our wanderings so I will not go deeper on that. I had fun talking to the Holland guys Robert and a3 and was much pleased to finally meet Kneehighs and Calv. You guys are great. On our italian lunch we were talking about everything from politics to fashion and I had a great time chatting with fogborkenvv and wife. Hope to see you again! After a while we went back to the hotel. I was up since 4 in the morning and needed some sleep. Then smashed the group who was waiting on the Lobby with my evening "dres to kill" attire as seen in the picture (thanks kneehighs). Well that evening was a great one. Kneehighs, heel-D an me (pity we were only us three) went to soho and had some drinks and went dancing. It was a nice warm nicht and lots of peple were on the streets. I received some good comments and actually a guy standing in the street started to applaud and told me how great I was looking! I could not believe it! Kneehighs got a date with a girl for next day also. The painly way back home was the funniest thing cause we were yelling OUTCH! with each step. Heel D wanted some food so we had to walk some blocks more. I was dying! Finally went to bet at 4AM. The next day as the others were still sleeping I decided to take a morning walk to check if I still could walk on heels and I have to say : it was edgy. My feet were still sour. A guy who was standing next to me at a red light, suddenly asked me: Excuse me sir, can I ask you a question? Are those high heels? Can I see them? I showed him my white boots and he told me: great! How can you walk on those? Aren't your feet sour? I lied of course! Back to the hotel I put on some flats and we all thre went to see the usual turistic London. Thanks Heel-D for being our tour guide. We had some english breakfast and went all around enjoying the lovely mild wheather. It was a great weekend indeed.

Determination.

Dedication.

Liberation.

These are the three elements I’ve discovered this weekend. I’ve overcome obstacles that have been of my own creation. Sure I have streetheeled before but only this weekend have I realised that nothing bad happens when you wear heels or women’s shoes. Nothing bad happens when you look at yourself in the mirror and think to yourself “I look good”.

I have also learnt that men from all corners of life, like heels and wearing women’s shoes. They can all get together, and enjoy a great afternoon, in their heels without any worries. Sure there were the odd looks, but generally people really don’t notice a group of guys in heels. Weird, huh? If most people don’t notice a large group of guys wearing heels, then one person surely can get away with it even more.

This is my message to you all, heel wearing is liberating!

My evening with Kneehighs and Heeluis was most fun. Heeluis’ outfit was might I say eye-popping!! Think Rocky Horror Picture Show meets the Proms and you get the idea. He made mine and kneehigh’s outfits look like church outfits - to make extreme comparisons. The reactions Heeluis drew were 2 a penny, I remember one cute girl walking past us giving Heeluis a compliment. We were in for a great evening!

My eveninf outfit was this:

Posted Image

Along with a jacket and bag, I drew no attention, apart from the drag queen that was serving at the entrance of Too2Much! “So, why are you all wearing heels?” she exclaims. “Erm, it’s a long story!” says Kneehighs looking at me thinking about what to say. I quickly looked at her heels. (Hey, it was subject of the conversation). She was wearing white (IIRC) thigh high boots if you wanna know. She was so impressed by outfits, she let us all in for a fiver each. The club was good. Nice fair mix of people – a sort of anything goes type of club. And I felt welcome in my heels

As the night draw to a close, we left for the hotel sometime between 2 and 3am. We grabbed some pizza in Leicester Square before getting the bus back. I incidentally had to run for the bus as we would have missed it. Running in stilettos while drunk was easy – kneehighs and Heeluis can back me up there! I’ll see if I can run in stilettos while sober some time!

Sunday involved nursing a large hangover all day – with a full English Breakfast in the morning, followed by a Chinese Takeaway in the evening when I got home. I wore this non-heeled outfit around Camden and Central London:

Posted Image

I had all but one reaction. A male shop assistant in Office in Camden. He was transfixed by shoes! Funny! I guess it was interesting to him and he was intreged.

I’ve spent the last couple of days thinking of what fun I had - socialising and wearing heels, and wanting to do it again soon. Streetheel that is! The next available opportunity I’m going to streetheel again – but this time with more confidence than ever!!!

Thanks guys!

heeluis-- thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed your short stay in London

Heel-D-- thanks for your update as well.

It looks like we still have a few missing testimonials:

1. jo

2. Si

3. Peachy I may be mistaken, but I don't see a "testimonial"

Either way, I thank anyone who took the time to post their thoughts on the meet. The final winner will be forthcoming, pending phone contact between kneehighs and peachy.

We'll keep you posted as to who wins.

:roll: Hi Dr. Shoe, Great point on the Conflict of Interests. Nonetheless, both Heelfan and I put our "testimonial" in anyway. Its just because we had such a good time meeting others and making new friends--the original purpose behind the testimonial contest to show others how we had such a good time. I liked making friends with Si, talking with euchrid, chatting with shakedown, learning more about Mrs. Fogborkenvv, talking with Firefox, learning new words from Xaphod, drinking the beer fogborkenvv bought me... I wouldn't vote for myself and I don't think Heelfan or Peachy would either :oops::wink:

hallo, I think it will be a good thing as Peachy is a part of the judges. From her shop the price is coming. And see should be have a good feeling about it who has become the winner. And perhaps hand over the price (personal). And having a judges of 3 voits there will become always a winner normaly. and perhaps a female has a differnet looks to surtain point as we have men. Besides we were almost al men wearing a female stylise shoe. And who should has a good knolledge of that as a female her self. I hope you understand my point of few and we will hear sometimes what kind of dissision has made. Lover your heels A3

I've been away for some holiday and some heeling, and right after that my computer died. Eventually, here I am back online. Had a quick look from a public terminal a couple of times over the last few days, but scarcely time to post. Should be back to normal now...

  • 4 weeks later...

It took awhile to communicate across the pond, but after careful consideration of the competitive submissions, the winner was narrowed down to be either Tara's poem or Calv's poem.

It should be noted that peachy, heelfan, and kneehighs all thought both poems were incredibly creative and we all appreciate the time it took to creatively compose a poem about the meets events. :roll:

Ultimately, there had to be just one winner. So after very careful consideration...

Calv is the winner

I am highly honoured and flattered that you thought my lines were worthy of the prize, and would like to say a big thank you to Kneehighs, Heelfan and Peachy for organising the contest and supplying the prize. Thanks must also go to Dr Shoe who's poem provided the original inspiration and the local pub for providing the "thinking juice" I think the last time I wrote any verse was when I was at school - a long long time ago!! Now, about that trip to Bristol - got a good reason to visit now,!! Regards Calv
