sexyplatforms Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Dear all, I thought it would be interesting to start a thread on the forum where people could post pics of 'unusual' high heels. All images of esoteric, wierd, wonderful and bizarre high heels welcome! To kick-off, here are a couple of pics of my most 'unusual' shoes: SP.
sexyplatforms Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Another version of the metal 'blade' or 'skate' platform by Luscious: Platforms with 'portholes'! As the song goes: Rubber ducky you're the one, rubber ducky lots of fun... SP.
Bubba136 Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Interesting platform styles. Everything from "Hans Brinker" platform skates to the "Little Duckie" clear platforms.....I suppose they all can be worn with the right costume, but -- I don't have that much courage, do you? (Besides, I am really not a big fan of platforms) Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
sexyplatforms Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 These are made of stainless steel! Some outlandish boots: Curious structures described as 'walkingmachines': SP.
sexyplatforms Posted August 31, 2005 Author Posted August 31, 2005 Curious looking wooden plats: Interesting wooden platform style: Look into my crystal ball... SP.
RPMindy Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 the first pic... that 'blade' like heel has been getting a lot of promotion at the mall near my place. not seeing it in public wear however. RPM
canadianbeaver17 Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 All those would be fun to wear - but I don't know about how pratical they are.
Dawn HH Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Very interesting designs. I don't think that you will find them out and about in public anywhere. Not very practical for daily use. I wouldn't waste my money on them even just for the sake of fun. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
JeffB Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I agree with Dawn! Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist when it comes to shoes as all I wear are plain pumps, but all those things look absolutely ridiculous to me. I can't imagine anyone wasting good money on junk like that! But hey! To each their own! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
taliheels Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 some a tad too bizarre - but at least the heels ARE high, love the flame effect wedges and duck plats and i would generally be more than happy with most of them - not first choices but desireable nevertheless
sexyplatforms Posted September 1, 2005 Author Posted September 1, 2005 Thanks for the comments - please feel free to post pics of any unusual or rarely seen shoes that you encounter in your web travels. SP.
asdf174 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Some of them I actully like. It's all good. ~Arron.
Shafted Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I don't know if I'd refer to the above pics as unusual heel designs, but overall unusual shoe designs. Shafted, the boots that is! View my gallery here http://www.hhplace.o...afteds-gallery/ or view my heeling thread here http://www.hhplace.org/topic/3850-new-pair-of-boots-starts-me-serious-street-heeling/ - Pm me if you want fashion advice or just need someone to talk to.
Dawn HH Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 You've got a point there, Shafted:-) Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
jim Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I see a shapely calf and a delightfully arched foot cradled by the wearers shoe. This is an image of beauty that should inspire and bring pleasure to the eye.... But draped pitifuly by the lifeless body of such a delicate creature, the image for me is now one that boarders on the obscene. Such a perverse contradiction.....oh how it grieves my spirit. jim
sexyplatforms Posted September 2, 2005 Author Posted September 2, 2005 I agree with you Jim - those really are very strange shoes... SP.
dr1819 Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 It's like everything else - what appears as traditional to most people, "feels" normal. When people encounter something that's on the edges, they no longer feel comfortable. It's the same when people see a guy in heels. If he's wearing 4" chunk heel leather boots with a rounded toe under jeans, they really don't give it a second look. But if he's wearing a 4" metallic spike heel spaghetti-strap sandal under jeans, they do give it a second look.
xam Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 How about this one I found on the web Xam is here!
Bubba136 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 To much string for me. Reminds me of a fishing reel. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Shafted Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Very unusual, but I like them and the hose that are being worn with them. Shafted, the boots that is! sexyplatforms Posted September 3, 2005 Author Posted September 3, 2005 Nice one xam - they are distinctive heels! SP.
Sally2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Wow! Love them all Especially the first 2 pairs with the metal heels. sal
Dawn HH Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 A fishing reel? That's rich! It looks like the other pic scared a local bird so bad that he passed out right on top of the shoe. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
vector Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I nominate the platform shoes show in the movie "I'm gonna get you sucka". One o fthe characters was released from jail (in 1990) after 15 years and didn't know platforms had gone out of style. He had platforms shoes with REAL FISH swimming in the shoes!!!
