Dear all,

I thought it would be interesting to start a thread on the forum where people could post pics of 'unusual' high heels. All images of esoteric, wierd, wonderful and bizarre high heels welcome!

To kick-off, here are a couple of pics of my most 'unusual' shoes:

Interesting platform styles. Everything from "Hans Brinker" platform skates to the "Little Duckie" clear platforms.....I suppose they all can be worn with the right costume, but -- I don't have that much courage, do you? (Besides, I am really not a big fan of platforms)

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

the first pic... that 'blade' like heel has been getting a lot of promotion at the mall near my place. not seeing it in public wear however. RPM

Very interesting designs. I don't think that you will find them out and about in public anywhere. Not very practical for daily use. I wouldn't waste my money on them even just for the sake of fun. Cheers--- Dawn HH

I agree with Dawn! Maybe I'm too much of a traditionalist when it comes to shoes as all I wear are plain pumps, but all those things look absolutely ridiculous to me. I can't imagine anyone wasting good money on junk like that! But hey! To each their own!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

some a tad too bizarre - but at least the heels ARE high, love the flame effect wedges and duck plats and i would generally be more than happy with most of them - not first choices but desireable nevertheless

I see a shapely calf and a delightfully arched foot cradled by the wearers shoe. This is an image of beauty that should inspire and bring pleasure to the eye....

But draped pitifuly by the lifeless body of such a delicate creature, the image for me is now one that boarders on the obscene.

Such a perverse contradiction.....oh how it grieves my spirit.

It's like everything else - what appears as traditional to most people, "feels" normal. When people encounter something that's on the edges, they no longer feel comfortable. It's the same when people see a guy in heels. If he's wearing 4" chunk heel leather boots with a rounded toe under jeans, they really don't give it a second look. But if he's wearing a 4" metallic spike heel spaghetti-strap sandal under jeans, they do give it a second look.

To much string for me. Reminds me of a fishing reel.

A fishing reel? That's rich! It looks like the other pic scared a local bird so bad that he passed out right on top of the shoe. Cheers--- Dawn HH

I nominate the platform shoes show in the movie "I'm gonna get you sucka". One o fthe characters was released from jail (in 1990) after 15 years and didn't know platforms had gone out of style. He had platforms shoes with REAL FISH swimming in the shoes!!!
