Dr. Shoe Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 The object is to end up at Mornington Crescent in a logical sequence of steps. Cockfosters. (Played my triple Picadilly joker) Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Nova Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 After careful consideration and much research, I have decided that after centuries of isolation on your little island, you've all gone mad. I guess you've got to play the game to get it, as they say. Jen If all the world's a stage, I want to operate the trap door.
Thighboots2 Posted October 12, 2004 Author Posted October 12, 2004 Camden Road Are you confusing me with someone who gives a damn?
nhoj62 Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 green fingers? kew gardens! the higher the boot, the higher the heel, the better the feeling!
Firefox Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Aha... I think I could say Mornington Crescent here, based on the Kew green fly/black fly (District/Northern) plus North/South of the circle line standard move. I don't think the first bit is generally accepted though you may find it in the Stovold's appendix somewhere I think. On that basis I'll plump for the fairly safe: South Kensington
Dr. Shoe Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 According to the extensive "Mornington Crescent" entries in the encylopaedia of Tube Games, you could have had your move and ended the game. Hard luck FF! Now I have no option but to play New Cross Gate! (I was hoping to save it until after someone played Walthamstow hence getting double points) Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
ShockQueen Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Interesting game to be sure! Now I gotta get a map, laminate it, and hang it on the wall, plotting where you guys are going so I have SOME clue as to what is going on....it seems like a logical thing though. Would I be correct in plunking down Whitechapel? If not, then please disregard I really wanna know how this is played out. Looks fun! SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
Dr. Shoe Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Yes, Whitechapel is perfectly acceptable after Newcross Gate.(Whitechapel is an interchange see) My turn: King's Cross- St. Pancras Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
genebujold Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Parson's Green (For those that don't know, you have to spot the pattern in the chain of London tube stations. We'll tell you if you're right or wrong) Ok - can you post a URL to a downloadable map, preferrably pdf, of the London Underground? Thanks!
highonheels Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 genebujold: try http://tube.tfl.gov.uk/content/tubemap/default.asp Mile End I know this shouldn't be allowed by the District Line Rule, but several people have blatantly ignored it already, so don't complain at me.
Dr. Shoe Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 No, we should disregard the "District Line Rule" because we're playing the "Docklands extension" version. Lancaster Gate Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Firefox Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Hahaha Kings X St P.... That was an invite to Mornington Crescent if ever there was one, though it's a manoeuvre frowned on by some. Harrups has a whole chapter on it. Ealing Broadway
