Anne_Louise Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 That's a very attractive dress, Gene. I have several in a similar style but with a simple neckline rather than the crossover back, because I prefer to wear a bra. Vicki, you've upstaged me again! It's no secret that I love to wear black leather, though I tend to keep it for the cooler seasons when of course I always wear gloves too. But in my defence, my heels were higher (1 1/2" higher!!) and my skirt, whilst too short to be particularly restricting, was very tight! And by wearing shoes rather than boots I had more seam on view. I always wear an eight-strap suspender with seams, it helps to keep the seams straight, especially for short skirts. Perhaps when the winter comes, Vicki, I might find an outfit to rival yours - who knows, I could be in 7" heels by then! But I envy your youth and I admire your style. Love, Anne Louise
Anne_Louise Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 A little more sophisticated today. Scarlet jacket, gold short-sleeved ribbed round-neck top,, slightly A-line navy blue pinstripe skirt, about 6" above the knee and with small slit, left front, those lovely rather glossy chocolate seamed nylons with point heel, black patent open toe, open side 5 1/2" stilettos, with red banding and red heels (Leatherworks style 'Charlie' for anyone interested), very chunky gilt chain necklace, big round gilt earings and gilt cuff bangle.
Becky Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Sophisticated..............hmmmm  So many shoes & boots to buy in so little time!!
Bubba136 Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Hey, RubberVicki, what time do you start working your corner? Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Anne_Louise Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Yes, Bubba, isn't that a touch unfair? As I'm also someone who likes to wear clothes that make something of a statement, no doubt you could address a similar comment to me! But I should be deeply offended if you did! Well, for this morning it was the scarlet jacket again, a short sleeved crinkly, scoop-neck top in pastel 'rainbow' colours, a tight fitting, quite short, pewter p.v.c. skirt, gloss 'chiffon' stockings, and the red/black 5 1/2" stilettos again. I don't normally mention the underwear, but today it matches (for once), black underwired bra, black knickers, black eight-strap suspender. So, if you saw me on a street corner would you approach me with a fistful of Dollar bills?! Anne Louise
Bubba136 Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 Depends on the circumstances, Anne_Louise. Probably not because I don't frequent places where women that charge for their services hang out and while your dress is flashy, it's not as eccentrick as RubberVicky describes. There's such a thing as making a statement and stating (dressing) like you can be made, which someone that dresses as bizarrely as "RubberVicki says she dresses, advertises. No offense intended but, common, that type of dress belongs in the club scene and is really not normal for the work scene. (At least not on anyone that I would employ). I've no problem with what she wants to ware. However, I believe she only dresses like that in her over active, creative imagination. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Vanity Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 A stupid qustion to you dear Vicki. Are you really into rubber and is it worth testing? I'm curious and eager to test anything that can take my life to higher levels. Could you explain? You can use my personal E-mail if you want. "Vanity is my life and that's my name." I just love High heels.
Anne_Louise Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Vanity, from what I've seen of Vicky's postings she gives the impression that she has enjoyed rubber for a long time, but doubtless she can let us know. I'm much more like you, curious but undecided. In fact several years ago there was a feature in Vogue suggesting that rubber was coming into the mainstream of fashion. Certainly the skirts and dresses shown were lovely, very sleek and sensual, and inspired me to send for some catalogues, but I still couldn't quite take the plunge. I've always loved leather and I've quite a lot of p.v.c. too, and through seeing comments on this site and exchanging messages with various people I thought I really should give rubber a try. The little skirt I sent for was quite a surprise - 'little' is appropriate as a size 14 arrived in an A4 size envelope! It was a pull-on style, not what I expected, but having struggled into it I can only say that I was smitten! If you like tight things then you should give it a try, the way it 'hugs' the thighs is a truly unique sensual experience. What was as important is how good it looked, worn with a smart top or jacket, quite suitable for normal daywear. I reluctantly decided to return the skirt, only because it wasn't really practical for my life-style, but I'm currently searching for something similar but more tailored. I shall definitely be getting one by the autumn, though I'm told that some people find rubber suitable for warmer weather too. I should love to know if your experience is similar to mine - PM if you prefer. Anne Louise
virginie Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Hi, this is my first message here. I must say this is a truly nice site and a great idea. Today I am wearing a white skirt (almost kneelength) and a pink strapless halter top. I have 4 inch white strappy sandals on my feet.
Anne_Louise Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Bubba, it's not for me to be an apologist for Vicky, I'm sure she can defend herself, but your comments do reflect on me and others who like to dress in slightly unconventional ways. Indeed, if some of Vicky's outfits could be described as 'imaginative' I've not seen many - and it's true that I've not had time to examine the whole thread - that are especially extreme even though they are usually quite adventurous. The cream leather and black top seemed to me to be a very smart outfit. I wouldn't wear cream nylons or, at this time of year, boots, but that's just a matter of preference. Yes, circumstances are crucial. I'm quite happy to wear something very short and/or tight, together with my highest heels, during the day in my local town or for work, but I would make sure I was at least protected by a longer coat if I were by myself in a quiet street after dark. In the unlikely event (unless I was in need of an income boost!) of my being in a 'red-light' district and wearing a black leather mini-suit and stilettos I might expect to be 'kerb-crawled'. But then that would be equally likely if I wore denim trousers and block-heeled boots, or even a classic wool suit and 'sensible' shoes! It's where I am rather than what I'm wearing My view is that it's not WHAT is worn but HOW it's worn. Good grooming is essential, and the most exotic outfit can be really stylish if worn with confidence and elegance by someone who knows that she is expressing her personality through her clothes. Of course shoes, stockings and other accessories need to be as carefully chosen as the outfit. My shoes are often commented on, though those who see me often now accept them as part of my personal 'uniform', and some people (the one's I ignore and who usually have little concern for their own appearance) suggest that at my time of life I shouldn't be wearing skirts quite so short. Of course even with my shortest clothes I make sure that my stocking-tops aren't constantly on show - that's just a normal part of good grooming. Bubba, I ENJOY dressing in an eye-catching way. I'm a deeply sensual and expressive person so I dress accordingly, in sensual materials, leather (including leatherlook, p.v.c. and shortly, I hope, rubber), fur, satin, velvet, and shapes that flatter my (still not too bad) figure and show off my (still!) long and quite shapely legs. Consequently I'm often to be seen in very short, very tight skirts, preferably stretchy (that's not of course possible with leather, but if anyone is interested it can be overcome by tapering the skirt to the limit and sewing a strip of stretch fabric into each side seam) - lycra could have been invented for me! I do get lots of compliments - 'glamorous', 'stylish', 'elegant', even, dare I say, 'sexy', though I prefer 'sensual' - and remarks such as 'you're looking gorgeous as always', 'you always look as if you've stepped off the cover of Vogue', 'I wish I had legs like yours', 'I would love to be able to walk in those shoes' and so on. You could be forgiven for thinking that my name is 'Vanity', but that's already been taken! Of course age is relevant, but much less so than some might suggest. Bared midriffs are really only acceptable on the flattest of young tummies, and those tiny little skirts, 11" or 12" long that one sees in shops and catalogues will cover the essentials on a slim twenty-year-old but would be indecent on expanding middle-aged hips and thighs - and believe me, I have tried! I just have to accept that on my figure 14" is acceptably decent but daring, my usual daily length is 16" to 18", and 20" can be worn almost anywhere. I am sorry to have gone on so, but as you can see from some of my other posstings I am very much opposed to stereotyping and ageism in regard to clothes. Anne Louise

Welcome V, We have quite a few women who 'push the envelope', but you're doing fine where you are. Glad to have you with us. Xa
JeffM Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Bubba I am really looking forward to reading your reply to Anne Louise's posting. I like what Anne has to say and how she says it. For me she is a lady with a capital L, Lady. And the definition of Lady that I like best is "A woman who is the object of chivalrous devotion." Jeff
PBarr Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 I for one feel that some people are giving 'Rubbervickie' a hard time. The outfits that she describes sound wonderful and are the things that dreams are made of. (Especially the recent black leather outfit and the pink rubber outfit in the restuarant.) Whoever took you out that night was a very lucky man. I only wish that more females were encouraged to dress like this in the workplace and were allowed to express there feelings through clothes and heels. It certainly would liven the workplace up. This is a great thread Rubbervickie, one that has been going longer than most. Keep up the descriptions and thoughts and don't let people put you off. They are in the minority.

heellover1907 Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 2 amazing sounding outfits and i bet you looked stunning in them both X
Bubba136 Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 P. Barr said: I only wish that more females were encouraged to dress like this in the workplace Quite frankly P. Barr, the only way, in my opinion, she could dress more descriptively would be to strap a mattress onto her back and run around yelling "curb service." Jeff M: As to Anne_Louise being a "Lady," I totally agree with you. What I said about RubberVicki doesn't apply to Anne_Louise. She drew the connection. I didn't. Besides, there's such a thing as elegance, grace and beauty in dress and appearance. You can take one look at any woman dressed in that manner and see that she obviously has a great deal of self-respect, confidence and self-reliance. Anne_Louise strikes me as being just the sort of woman because, while her costumes might be a bit unrestrained, they're still fresh, fashionable and in good taste. There's also such a thing as being dressed crudely, unrefined and lacking in discrimination and sensibility, which is the way RubberVicki comes across. She want's to shock and stun conventional sensibilities and poke her sex "in your face." Which is OK with me. It's her business and actions have consequences. But, I wouldn't hire any female that insisted in dressing in this manner. And, I wouldn't frequent any business that did hired her if she was filling any out front position dealing directly with the public. I'm not being mean or nasty to RubberVicki. And, I certainly don't mean any disrespect. I couldn't care a flip about how she dresses. That's her business. However, when she posts over imaginative describitions of her ensembles and expects us to "Ohh and Ahh" over them (which I don't, incendently), I accept her at her word and place her into the category of a person that wants to draw attention to herself by telling us she dresses the way she describes. This is purely my opinion and if you don't agree, I can live with that. And, if you don't care for the way I've expressed it , then get stuffed. I don't care one way or the other. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
JeffM Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Bubba, I didnt mean to bring out any agression in you if that is what I have done. Anne Louise comes across as being a Lady even though she wears short skirts and very high heels. That is the perception she creates within me, one of elegance and class. Maybe it has some thing to do with her age as she has said. Vicki though as you said does seem to create the perception of one who wants to draw attention her self. I feel though it is not just what Vicki is wearing but how she says it. Maybe thats just me. And there is no need for me to get stuffed. I dont think I have ever found what you say as offensive. I just wanted to see what you thought about two women who at face value dress similary yet create vastly different images, either intentionally or not. Jeff
Trolldeg Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I don't care one way or the other. Then why did you bother to write in the first place?
Anne_Louise Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Oh dear, I seem unwittingly to have sparked an altercation! You all seem to agree though that it's not the outfit but the way that it's expressed that defines it. I should think though that almost anyone in a cream leather pencil skirt and black top would look elegant and stylish. It's not exactly a neutral outfit, but neither is it exhibitionistic, which is, I suppose, why I was surprised that it was this particular outfit that elicited such a response. You can see much more extreme dress in almost any town or city any day of the week! I don't think any of this justifies quite such intensity - clothes should be a rather light-hearted means of self-expression unless you are associated with the fashion industry, when dressing seems more to assume the mantle of a religion! Anne Louise

I just plainly told you my views. Anne_Louise wrote: I should think though that almost anyone in a cream leather pencil skirt and black top would look elegant and stylish. Of late, RubberVicki's costumes have become much more contemporary. If you're really interested in understanding what I am talking about, look back in this thread and read her earlier descriptions of some of the peculiar costumes she said she daily wore. It's one thing to dress bazarrley for appearing in a TV commercial, a part in a horror film or a porn flick, but to adopt the same style of dress for everyday ware is quite another thing. If she, as she implys, is making a statement, then the statement in my view is one that shouts "Here I am, look at me. I'm cheap, slutty and available for anything you fanasize." Unlike RubberVicki, Anne_Louise doesn't come across as being this way. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
PBarr Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Bubba136 I would hate to think that there is slightest sign of jealously in your latest replies. Why are you so bothered about what someone wears and why all the personal insults? Just chill out and let a person express themselves as they wish. The majority of the previous posts from RubberVickie are what you describe as contempory outfits. There are only a few that are a little more overtly sexual. But so what, as I said in my last post I wish RubberVickie was coming to my workplace dressed in any of the outfits she describes, on a daily basis. As I have said before, this is an excellent link, it certainly gets people talking! But lets not get so personal please. Finally, how do I get anything other than a picture of a 'comfy loafer' on my postings. Can anyone offer me any advice.
Bubba136 Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 PBar! Why would you think there's any jealously on my part? You've admitted that you haven't read all of the posts on this thread but yet you've got enough experience to know exactly where I'm wrong? That's OK with me. The quickest way to shed the comfy loafers is to post more. However, be sure when you comment you don't put your feet in your mouth. (Judging from the quickness of your response, I am sure it's big enough to hold both of them) Welcome Short-timer. Happy posting. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
