keepitsimple
So I'm planning on going to an art gallery this week, and I decided that I wanted to go heeling. And I kind of want to be bold about it, considering that I have a pair of black 4" platform pumps with a 1" platform that I want to wear. Any ideas as to how I should go about/what to wear? bluejay
Since you are going to an art gallery, I would go with a bit of a dressy look. No every day jeans or tee shirts. Most people dress up to go there. If I were going, I would wear a pair of dress pants or dressy jeans, with a polo shirt, add some color, here. If it's cold maybe a blazer or light jacket. Hopefully you will not hide your heels, completely, but maybe you are not as bold as I am , wearing heels out in public. Just dress up a bit, when going to an art gallery. Enjoy yourself! Happy Heeling, bluejay
Shafted
What bluejay said. Honestly, it's virtually impossible to know what to recommend for you without seeing what we have to work with. Jimnj3
Those look like Brash Cosmic black pumps. Don't hide those beauties. I love mine in both black and red. I would wear a dark pair of real dressy jeans or dark slacks with them. Lets see what the more stylish members have to say.
Shafted
Oh, forgot about that :/ sorry about the dark picture! That's not really what I meant. A shoe shot by itself is just a shoe shot. There is no clue as to what would work for you or not. Shafted, the boots that is! Steve63130
Shafted is right (as usual). Look in your closet, and pick out a pair of dressy slacks, a colorful top that goes with it, and take photos in different poses of your outfit with the shoes. Then we can see your build, see how the outfit looks on you, and give you some constructive criticism for how to improve it. Go take a look at Bluejay's thread or JeffB's thread and you'll get an idea of what they like to wear. It's all about presenting yourself in apparel that is enhanced by the shoes, and doesn't conflict. Baggy men's jeans and a dirty t-shirt, for instance, would be conflicting and it would be an eyesore with those lovely heels. Also, be sure you practice wearing the heels, walking and standing a lot. You don't want to be miserable at the art gallery after 10 minutes because your feet hurt. Think about foot comfort, too. Maybe you'd be more comfortable, or the outfit would look better with sheer hose or opaque trouser socks, for example. Hope that advice helps. Good luck! Steve PS. When you take a photo, please get the lighting right so we can see the details. It's a shame to go through trouble to post pics that nobody can make out. Make sure the lighting comes from behind you, not from behind the subject. Thanks!
bionicbabe
Art gallery seems like an appropriate place to heel, everyone in the arts are pretty open minded
