I Have Made The Switch To Women's Jeans

Very cool mlroseplant. I only have a couple pairs of men's jeans left in my closet, the rest (about 20+ pairs) have all been replaced over the years with women's low rise Levi's 518 and 524 bootcut jeans, and Pacsun Bullhead Laguna bootcut jeans. Women's jeans fit me so much better than any men's jeans I have ever owned, and they were of course made to be worn with heels. :)

I went out on a hunt today for skinny jeans to replace my now collector item Levis EX-GFs. Went to Label Shopper wearing my EX-GFs with my Restricted Barbarella boots topped with an oversize burgundy sweater. As soon as I was through the door, I made a bee-line for the very attractive saleswoman. I was on a mission. After opening pleasantries, I explained to her my predicament in trying to replace the now discontinued EX-GFs. I showed her how the EX-GF's fit so that she would know exactly what I was looking for. She took a look and knew she would have her work cut out for her. We went to the racks and while she was looking for the right pair, she also gave me a crash course on jeans, their fit and sizing. She selected a pair for me, and escorted me to the dressing rooms. When I came out she looked at me in disbelief, I was swimming in the first pair of skinny jeans. She said it's okay and that it gives her a baseline to work from. We went back to the racks and she pulled about 12 pairs from various places and sent me back to the dressing room. After trying them all I found one that sort of fit, nine that I would consider laughable, and two which were nearly identical to the fit of the EX-GF. The two that were perfect were by American Eagle Outfitters. The same brand that almost all the teen girls wear here. I have been accused of having teen girl legs before and this experience hammered home that fact. I think she was having just as much fun as I was. Well, I know now I'm a size 8 in that brand. She said I may be as small as a size 4 in some brands. I bought both pairs. I do miss the flat seam stitching on the Levis EX-GFs.

See and that's why I think women are all screwed up when it comes to clothing. I mean they think they're a size 6, but in certain brands, they might be an 8. I'm a 34x36, pretty easy. With heels, I've had 12's fit me perfectly, and needed 15's in others. Payless 13W usually fits great, but sometimes a 13 or a 12W will fit great as well. I don't have that problem in mens clothes. And don't get me started on pantyhose. I think women would be much happier if they just increased the size of each by just a little, and left the 'size chart' alone. God forbid a woman on the boarder of A & B (which most are I swear) would choose a B. And I think L'eggs idea of "queen size" is absolutely crazy. No woman is going to buy those. I mean they go from A, B, to QUEEN. That's too much to swallow for a woman that might just be tall and skinny, but nowhere near Queen Latifa. Hooters got it right - the largest shorts you could get from them were a medium, most XXS, XS, and S. I 'swam' in mediums. So I felt skinny. lol.

Response to shafted. You have it easier than me in selection. In american eagle I'm a size 4 long and a 4 still seems quite loose. I might have to go down to size 2.

Well, good for you, my friend. Hope you enjoy your new jeans! Perhaps you can post a picture so we can see what you look like in them along with a pair of heels.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of one pair of my new jeans, as requested. These are Faded Glory (Wal-Mart brand) in a size 4 petite boot-cut. I washed them once before I wore them. This was taken after a number of hours of wearing. I shall be interested to see how they fit after a few more washings.

Shoes are Michael by Michael Kors loafer/clog. I don't know the model name. I got them from eBay with no box.

Unlike a lot of guys here, I get the feeling you and I like our jeans the same way. (As tight as possible all over without being restricting in freedom of movement)

Nicely done! You looked quite nice in those photos. Bravo!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

I've stopped thinking of them as "womens jeans", they're just jeans that fit good and look nice, and just as Shafted's recent shopping trip proves, it can take quite a bit of hunting, but that's still easier (and more fun) than trying to find a pair of likeable "mens jeans", especially a pair that look good with heels. The trend for mens jeans seems to be deliberately badly-fitting and that just doesn't appeal to me. I've also stopped thinking of them in terms of "no-one will notice"... sure some styles are more obvious than others, but the more subtle ones just look like funky retro fashion and they will get noticed but mostly by people with an eye for fashion. I like those jeans mlroseplant, nice colour and shape, good length with those heels and not too high or low on the waist, and a great overall look.

If you like it, wear it.

I've been wearing women's jeans for months now, and I can say that I never want to go back. After a lot of pants-shopping and pants-changing, I had gotten a pair of mid-rise 4 petites. The length is pretty much right for just flat shoes, which sadly is all I have that I can wear all day. I would probably need to get some short length to wear with heels.

I was almost in a 12. I stopped riding the bike and have put some weight Back on. I get longs for my really hi heels and M for lower heels. I got some A's but Dis overed they are shorter than M's, good for tennis shoes. Wow. Womans Sizing is a nightmare. No wonder they can be so moody. I also understand why Some have pants dragging the ground. I hate that look.

Thank you to those who gave compliments on the jeans. Also, thank you to those who withheld not-so-nice remarks. LOL. I'm still trying to find my way in this new and sometimes strange world of fashion. Also, thanks to my wife, who seems generally happy with me lately.

I am sure that women's sizing is pretty "fluid" compared to men's sizing. I mean, 30 inches is 30 inches, right?

I also hate pants that drag on the ground. Reminds me of the "grunge" era in the late 90s, dark days indeed, especially for heel lovers.

After the fact, while I love super skinny jeans for myself the jeans you chose do work well and look great with the heels you selected (I would not hesitate to wear a similar combination). They are not however, a good enough fit to look great with boots over them. Watch how the women wear them, and you'll know what I'm talking about. There are many boot lovers here and you may be one of them. So, just take it as a tip.
