Leo Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Is there anyone else at High Heel Place who is a fan of the work of John Willie? Leo
chris100575 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Having just Googled him, yes. However I think most of his art would be regarded as unsuitable for here.
Jarl Ayari Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Yes and also Eric Stanton... Andi Smile and the whole world smiles with you, Fart and your on your own!!!
Leo Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 "Appropriate" pictures were published in his magazine 'Bizarre'.
spikesmike Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Leo Irving Klaw was another photographer and film maker. Mr. Klaw photographed bondage scenes of Betty Page and others in the burlisque business along with John Willie. Yes I am a fan. Mike
chris100575 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I'd heard of Eric Stanton and Irving Klaw before and like their work. Bettie Page was hot!
Jarl Ayari Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I have an Eric Stanton drawing as a tattoo on my right arm :-) Smile and the whole world smiles with you, Fart and your on your own!!!
benno Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I once had an argument with an old flatmate about pornography after finding loads of his dodgy 'women vomiting salamis' stuff on my Mac. I told him he had no taste and in my view porn should be hand drawn and from the 1940s 50s.
chris100575 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 On a loosely related note, I'm looking for a pack of pin-up playing cards, but want the 40s "bomber girl" style. I've not found any yet.
pata Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I am a fan and of those others mentioned too. Though it is all more a fetish direction, right.
roniheels Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I remember right after college getting hold of the book "The Adventures of Sweet Gwendoline." I was so impressed with the artwork of the book as it was truly explicit and very erotic. I'm sure though John Willie's obsession with bondage and domination raised many eyebrows during the time of his publications. If you think about it, his sketching of the high heels worn by the women in his drawings probably inspired many shoe designers then and now.
Leo Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 I am a fan and of those others mentioned too. Though it is all more a fetish direction, right. I guess so, but nothing too extreme.
Leo Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 I have an Eric Stanton drawing as a tattoo on my right arm :-) I like the work of John Willie, but not quite that much.
