well as mentioned on another thread last week Fri, was the 1st time out the house in Heels!! Fri night drove home in 4'' clogs with 1/2'' platform, when I got home, opened the gate, and drove in, noticed that the space between steering wheel and legs becomes an issue when wearing heels!! then last night when we got home, the wife needed to go to the local shopping center!! and was keen on trying driving in 5'' heels, have always dreamed of doing so for a long time, after following the thread driving in 5'' heels, thought need to try that soon!! any case we went to the local shopping center about a 7km round trip, we went to the auto teller, and for the 1st time walked in heels out the house, besides for Fri night short walk to open the gate!! well walked from the car to the auto teller, and back!! there was no one around!! it was actually easy, as I have walked many times(daily) with heels at home!! the only difference was that I still had normal socks on, did not bother to change the socks(wish I had) for the more comfortable hose, witch I will next time!! one of the most difficult things was getting out and back into the car, as with the reduced space between legs and steering wheel becomes an issue, a new technique will need to be worked out!! soon!! think I already have it figured out, will see next time!! was still wearing my works pants that covered most of the heels, although short outing, look forward to longer public outing in heels!! thanx for a the support and inspiration from here!!:):)

Congrats on your outings! The very first time is always the hardest, but, take it from a veteran heeler like myself, it'll only get easier from here! Good luck to you!

I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Good on you bru!! It is so cool to see someone else driving and getting around in heels. Did you do the Wimpy Womansday thing. (where the men get free coffee if they wear heels) We went out for coffee to Wimpy on Monday and it was a blast. I enjoyed the outing so much. I can not wait for the next one. Mooi so!!!!

FXHH - Congrats and well done Boet! Very jealous Know what you mean about the space between the steering wheel and legs, it is tricky! Plenty of ways but ultimately its practice. On another forum, someone suggested keeping knees together and swinging both legs out at the same time .. or getting in, sitting down first with back facing handbrake and swinging legs in. Apparently ladies wearing skirts do it this way to make it easier. Each to their own Enough rambling - congrats and thanks for sharing. Gives us all hope

Gingers Rogers did everything Fred Astair did .. but backwards and in heels

Way to go FXHH!!! Wimpy Womansday sounds like a pretty cool gig. They don't have anything like that in Phoenix. Later, Larry

Life is short...  Wear the bleeping shoes!

FXHH, Nice tale. Good your wife is OK with you and heels. Did you only go to the autoteller? what happened at the shopping centre? Simon.

Hi (heel) outing friends, The Sisters for Blisters walk at Monte Casino in Fourways is usually in November. No heels under 4" and no wedges allowed. We walked last year in red stilletos. People do not care about a man in heels, it is just a fun day out in support of POWA (people opposed to women and child abuse). Men in heels send a clear message. Lets meet for a stroll around Fourways!!!

depending on when in November sounds like a great idea!! how far is the walk??? wonder witch heels I will wear???:) @Thighboots2 yep there is more to the trip, however the heeling part for me was all I shared, at the one shopping Mall we went to there was a power failure (sadly common this side), we actually went to three small malls!! skipped out all that, other wise the post might of gotten too long and maybe even boring!! :)

FXHH:-) Congrats on your first and second heeling outing. Lots of fun, eh? It gets easier each time and a lot more fun too. Theres never too much to learn about your heeling adventures. Do tell us more. Cheers--- Dawn HH

well, time for an update after another outing!! we had to travel around 160km last night, left the house and drove there in the clogs 4 1/2'' that are in my gallery, when we got that side put on my normal shoes, it was a business meeting did not wish to make a point or statement where we were!! on the way back drove back with my normal shoes, and we drove past all food places, and I was so keen on walking about in my heels, just it got late!! so we got some take aways very close to home, the wife got out and went to order the food, she did not even notice that I took a while to get inside the food place, I was busy changing into my heels joint the wife inside, we ordered, watched the show of some other difficult customers giving the lady behind the counter a hard time, we got our food, walked out,as as we were getting to the car, had to tell the wife that I had heels on, as she did not even notice!!!! LOL!! sadly our busy life style does not allow too much time for heeling outside, however we do have plans to make time for a special night to go for a long walk in heels in public, and have a night out!! will post again when that happens!!:cry1:

well had another outing in heels!! again drove from the house, again wearing the clogs in my gallery, we parked the car on the one side of the mall, actually in the underground parking, went up the escalators, to the one banks Auto teller(for the wife), it was out of order, then we walked through the whole mall to the Auto teller whos bank I use, did what I needed to do, walked all the way back through the mall back to the car!! it was latish at night, the only people that came close enough that could of noticed was the security guards, they said nothing, dont even think they even noticed, they were friendly and even greeted!! this was by far the longest walk in public with heels!! we do have some other walks planned, will post as that happens!! am feeling brave, would like to try some other heel type in public, yep will cover shoes with the jeans, and see how that goes with maybe on a longer walk!! now just the time!! this year has been hectic!!

I was in Vegas a few months back and my wife and I were shopping in a clothing store. While I was checking out at the register in 4.5" Dark brown oxfords under long jeans, my wife wandered out into the mall. A security guard had noticed me and, not knowing he was talking to my wife, he pointed me out to her. He just expressed a bit of surprise but never said anything negative. After 30 seconds or so, she told him and he was very positive. The look on his face told me he was just seeing something unexpected but it did not appear to bother him at all. I spent several hours walking around the Fashion Show Mall and he was the only person I saw that indicated they even noticed my heels.

I have experienced pretty much the same thing when my wife and I are out in heels. I usually wear pink wedgies. It seems that most people are very discreet or do not notice. I do get a few stares once in a while as pink heels are not generic at all.

Why pink?

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
