  1. With reference to Hilucs "Belgium or Heaven"

And on the eigth day God changed his mind and created a place called Australis, proving once again that God is a woman.

She surrounded it with oceans making it an island but made it large enough that it was also a continent.

She made it with warm clear blue waters so there would be great barrier reefs of coral abounding in fish and crustacians and with cool green waters, not freezing, so that whales could make love and give birth to their young.

She made it with mountains so there would be snow for beauty and skiing but not frozen all year.

She made it with tropical forrests, temperate forrests and brushland and sunburnt deserts.

She made it with sweeping plains for growing crops, the best wheat in the world, the best wool and lamb and the the best beef.

She made it with hills of mineral ore.

She made it with animals and plants and birds not found any where else in the world.

She made it for dark people and whites and all those between and made it the best sporting nation in the world.

She made it complete and balanced in the one country so there was no need to create another to balance this one.

And She was so impressed with herself She called it God's Country and named it Australia.

Ask any one who has been here they will tell you.

In England, there's an extra bit to this:

"She then wondered how to stop everyone wanting to live in this paradise country. Then she had an idea and created Australians :D "

  2. there must have been a different reason for her reply, as I don't think it would have been footwear related

It wasn't, and that's all I'm going to say.

but you'd probably have felt more comfortable in your heels

    Perhaps. Don't know.

  3. You'll have to wear something raised, even if only a little bit.

You can't turn up 4 inches shorter than when you last met her now can you??

Well, I went in trainers, and got told to sod off. So perhaps I should have worn heels.

(And yes, there is slightly more to it than that but I don't plan to talk about it)

  4. There's something going on here... I'm also off on a date on Sunday. It isn't a blind date, but I've only seen the lady in question once before. At that time, I was in my 4" wedges. So she's only ever seen me in heels. But she was one side of a bar and I was the other side, so she's only seen me from the waist up. Now, what to do? I don't feel brave enough to go for the 4" wedgies again. I have a pair of 1.5" block heel boots which are quite subtle, but I can't walk as well in them as I can in my 4". (How does *that* work? Perhaps it's the rubber bouncy heels.) So... do I go for it in low heeled boots, and work up from there...? Or do I wear my trainers and tell her later?

  5. Great collection, Susan. I like the wedge courts. I have a pair of boots from Schuh with the same wedge sole unit. They did them as a shoe, an ankle boot and a knee boot. My boots are absolutely wonderful to wear. I'd have liked to have the courts too, but sadly they'd sold out by the time I found out about them

  6. I'm a UK8ish (US10M) and 5'9", so I also raid whatever I feel like in the women's section. I've only once or twice gone to 'fetish' stores, and I've never bought anything from them. I'm happy trekking around in my 'women's' heels. Long may it continue! I once had the fright of my life in Transformation when I went in after a pair of Laurie-style laceup boots, and came out wondering who the dickens pays around a hundred quid for a pair of cheaply-made and hideous-looking boots?

  7. Here's one you probably weren't expecting... I worked in a perfume factory the summer I was 17. Ah, that summer. Brand new driving license, loan of a car because Mom was away so Dad drove her car and I drove his... Job, so some money. The summers were better then, too. The light was better, and - (FX: SLAP!) Ouch. Ah, yes. Anyhow, since that day, many years ago, I can't stand most perfume. I can just about tolerate CK One, or CK Be, or some of the more modern light, soapy fragrances. But a heavy perfume will pretty much make me feel quite ill. So CK for me! Next!
