  1. For about the last month or so i have been making a detemined effort to heel everday, mainly to get my feet adjusted so i dont get so much discomfort from only strolling around the house and it seems to have worked! i have a few everyday wedge styles, cowboy and chunky heels At first i would pop home in the morning even with the 'young adults' (my kids!) still around before they exit to colledge and work with my footwear on and i am not even nervous any more, they havent mentioned anything but then with my bootcut jeans on i suppose its hard to see. Then i would wear my heels to work all day, sometimes varying the heel height according to what job i was going to and if my feet started to ache. I have noticed that the retired group do not seem to be bothered at all what you have on your feet, not even a comment ,possibly from being short sighted! i dont know While working with a woman assistant,i wore some platform wedge boots and she just asked if my shoes had a platform and that they were too nice for work! Longest stint in heels so far is 14hrs with a minimum of 3 hours on a bad day..heels and ladders are not good bedfellows! I have also noticed that i am getting a lot calmer when going about my business in heels as my feet are more accustomed to wearing them, i walk much better and i feel much more relaxed. Before if anyone i had come up to me while heeling i think i acted a bit odd as i would be a bit nervous to say the least, but now i just act like i would normally. i have still to tackle thin high heels but then due to the nature of my job you wouldnt wear that style if you were male or female. I have also found with thin heels that pavements are really not that kind! imaybe some sort of radar guidance system is required to avoid all the holes and cracks to stop the heels getting damaged!! might have to try a club out for this style,at leas the floor might be level. So on that note a great deal of admiration goes out to all the ladies (and gents) who have mastered that art. Think i might have to rename myself as the apprentice!!

  2. i am planning to wear my skinny jeans out with my ugg boots..no not the horrible ones! these but in black suede not brown (and yes i know they are not heels but planning a shopping trip up town) i am usually a t shirt guy but was wondering if anyone can suggest some decent upper wear as such, especially for mildler autumn days

  3. nope i find heeling quite stress relieving, relaxing and enjoyable, love shopping for them when i get the chance! you would probably find that another aspect of your personality would change or alter if you try and 'cure' yourself 'every action has an equal and opposite reaction'???? not the perfect analogy but who knows what would replace your 'heeling' instincts? i think i am a much more laid back person for it... call it a hobby or obsession but i'll stay as i am!!!

  4. hi kikilamour I think you will find most guys will stare at a woman in heels because 1.their partners probably dont! (wear heels that is) 2.you probably look amazing 3.they are too shy to come up to yor face and compliment you...i know i would! 4.They wish they could wear them..well if you've been sighted by members of this board! dont be shy! glad i am not the only one who's found different shops shoes can kill your toes!

Marc Jacob explains why he wears high heels...

We all know that Marc Jacobs has a penchant for wearing skirts, but high heels too? The designer recently wore a pair of Rick Owens's stacked heels at the Louis Vuitton S/S '09 show (pictured right). He offers an explanation:

"I don't always wear high heels. I always get nuts when women go, 'Oh, men don't know what it's like - women in heels, women in skirts, women in dresses - what it's like to suffer for fashion."

"Although I've always wanted to be taller, which is the real reason I wore them, I also thought I can show that I, too, will suffer for fashion."

Ah, MJ... how I adore you *bends down to worship*.

  6. called up the motcombe st branch today and found out they are £700.00 which i think is very reasonable!!!! sadly they dont do them in the uk but those of you in the u.s. might be a bit more lucky if youve got £700.00 to spare! those of us in GB will have to make do with either black or brown leather versions..ho hum...

  7. well if the 'board' were not around i think things could get a bit chaotic and many people wouldnt bother any more....especially in the girls section it is good that generally things are kept under control and harmony ensues as for being able to contact people you can always do a p.m. its up to them if they want to reply!
