    Kneebooted,

I like the look in photos 4+6 the best. If you have TSA Pre and don't have to remove shoes then I'd go for the look that's true to your display name. The full tucked-in boot as in #6 makes a statement about fashion and confidence. We have had several days of very clear and sunny weather in Wisconsin but there is a swath of rain and unusually cool weather from Texas to Ohio. I'm sure you'll look fabulous with any of these. I also vote for these boots - looking good!

My latest acquisition is yet another pair of clogs (surprise, surprise). In the back of my mind, I think I'm going to avoid wearing boots this winter. This delusion will last exactly until the first deep snow. These are BCBGeneration, model name unknown. They have 5 inch heels with 1 inch platforms. They were incredibly comfortable right out of the box, and there WAS a box, as these have never been worn, but are not factory fresh. See my comments about that in my thread elsewhere on this forum.

I love these shoes.  I am a sucker for the steampunk look.  Brown leather, buckles, gold rivets, what more could you ask for?

  3. She doesn’t know yet, but only because she handles change kind of slowly and my interest in heels and fashion is a new thing for me.

Last weekend she was just giving me a hard time about my new black “skinny jeans” despite them specifically being the classic mid rise cut.  The only change I made was that I bought pants in my real waist size, and actually fit, for the first time since high school.  I had tried the actual skinny jeans in the store, and yes they are skin tight and no that is not what I bought, but she was giving me a hard time all weekend.  Interestingly, after explaining how difficult it is to find pants that fit, she was the one who raised that the best solution for me is to wear women’s jeans.  We have the same waist size, so she threw me a pair of her jeans to try on.  After she got over the initial amazement that I look just as good in her exact jeans as she looks, she went online and ordered a couple pairs for me, ending the issue lol.

This week she has been insisting that I should wear my boots outside of my pants instead of under them.  So yes some days she is edgier than I am lol.

I am really glad HHP exists, as it focuses  on what interests me, and I would not have to do much explaining to my wife about what I am doing here.  In the broader internet, heels are associated with fetishes and gender reassignment, which is not my interest.

Once things settle down with my pants choices I’ll break out the boots with 3” heels.  They are only 0.75” taller than what I wear every day so it is not that much of a change.

Wearing a skirt or dress to work is a no go for me.  When its warm I'm typically in (short) shorts and open toe high heels.  This shorts with boots is a look I have done several times this year and I love it. I had a woman tell me I "owned that look" and my nails just topped it off.  But it takes a lot of nerve to walk out the door and go to work like this.

I can relate in that I insist on wearing tall boots all year, so we do what we gotta do :)  Sometimes when it is very hot that means I am out in shorts and boots.  While it is a weird look, where I live it would generally be less weird than a guy wearing a skirt.  I don’t think I would hesitate much with higher heel boots either, especially with a block or Cuban heel that is close to what I normally wear.

Though I am in the market for a skirt or kilt to throw over my shorts in these situations.  Something to cover more of my legs, but comfortable in hot weather.  The selections for size 4/small seem limited at outlets so I might have to start hitting the larger department stores.

BTW I love the silhouette of those boots.  They deserve to be taken to work...

I know what you mean, and I would be 100% comfortable doing so.  They are only 0.75” more heel than what I wear into the office every day, and it would blend right into my usual western boot look.  But I’ll probably keep them mostly indoors for a while so the suede stays clean.

Those pull on boots looks really great, @p1ng74.

How high are the heels? And how tall is the shaft?  I appreciate both pull-on and zip-up boots.... they both have merit, I can live nice along both styles ;-)

Thanks!  They are shorties - 3” heels and 6” shafts.

  6. Was pleasantly surprised to find a good deal on a pair of Cole Haan pull on boots last night at Nordstrom Rack, despite it being only the beginning of the season.  I don’t like the idea of having a zipper on my shoes, so I was immediate attracted to these since they are pure pull on boots, which seems rare for women’s shoes.  They are amazingly comfortable and fit right out of the box, with no sensation that they are technically sized narrower than my foot size.  As the weather gets cooler, I can see myself wearing these around the house a lot.
